00:00All right, before the break, I mentioned ethical question.
00:03Listener asked, and this was actually for the big old tub of pretzels,
00:08but I'll ask it anyway.
00:09Can you eat buffalo wings tomorrow night for the game,
00:11or is that bad luck?
00:12That's a great question.
00:14Yeah.
00:17I think you can eat chicken wings, but not with the buffalo sauce.
00:22Okay.
00:24Maybe that's what you do.
00:25And you go with, like, what's the most opposite you can get to
00:29from buffalo sauce on your wings?
00:32Garlic Parmesan, something like that that tastes delicious,
00:35but it's, wait a minute, it's not buffalo.
00:37You're right, it's not buffalo.
00:39Okay.
00:39So if you order from your favorite wings place,
00:42Mr. Spots, B-Dubs, whatever, whatever your spot is, Twin Peaks,
00:48wherever you get your wings, do you, can you get wings,
00:54but you can't have straight buffalo sauce?
00:56Is that what we're, are these the rules?
00:58Do we agree upon these rules?
00:59I like it.
00:59I mean, I didn't even, obviously, I've never thought of this.
01:02I think it's an excellent question to pose.
01:05I mean, we all like food.
01:07We all like wings to an extent.
01:08So this is one thing that you and I actually, well,
01:11you don't like them as much as I actually like them more than you.
01:13Yeah, you definitely do.
01:15I mean, I'll eat chicken wings.
01:16I like chicken wings just fine.
01:17I just don't like getting messy, and, you know,
01:19the buffalo sauce is going to get even messier.
01:21That's why I prefer the tenders or the...
01:24What about dry rubs?
01:25You good with those dry rubs they use?
01:26Yeah.
01:27Okay.
01:27Yeah.
01:29I like dry rubs.
01:30Definitely.
01:31I mean, I prefer sauce.
01:33I like to dunk it in the sauce, but...
01:35And I'm not a big superstitious guy,
01:37so I tend to, when it comes to superstitions,
01:39I acquiesce to you and Kang.
01:41Kang, it's buffalo wings, but not with buffalo sauce.
01:45Is that the deal for tomorrow night?
01:46I'll eat them with buffalo sauce.
01:47I don't really care.
01:47You're eating the wing, right?
01:49You're winning.
01:50Maybe that's...
01:50Maybe that's...
01:51Absolutely get buffalo sauce.
01:53Who's going to win that battle between you and the wing?
01:55You are.
01:56Where do you get coneys?
01:57The thing was, with buffalo wings, the buffalo sauce,
02:01they vary so much.
02:02Some are like super, super, like...
02:04I don't mind getting messy.
02:05I think eating your hands, something primal about it.
02:08I love it.
02:08I enjoy it.
02:08I don't mind at all.
02:10Ribs, you know, tomahawk steak.
02:11I'll pick it up by the bone.
02:12I don't care.
02:13You sound like Jansen right now.
02:13Yeah, well, he gets it.
02:17But with that being said, the sauce, obviously, is the flavor, right?
02:21So, everyone knows what buffalo sauce tastes like.
02:25But I think, to me, there's a wide range of it.
02:29Yeah, different spice levels.
02:30Yeah, yeah.
02:30I definitely like mild.
02:31I don't need to overpower.
02:32I'm a blue cheese guy.
02:34There you go.
02:34I don't worry about the buffalo sauce.
02:36If I want buffalo wings, I will.
02:38It's usually not my first choice, to be honest with you.
02:39I'm more like parm garlic and an Asian zing type of guy.
02:43You know, that's my...
02:44Oh, you are an Asian zing kind of guy.
02:45Yeah, thank you.
02:46Spicy garlic, those type of things.
02:48But buffalo is down the list for me anyways.
02:50But if it was on the table and we're watching the Lions play the Bills,
02:54I'll dip it in the blue cheese and...
02:55But if you're going to order wings tomorrow...
02:57Flats all day, by the way.
02:58Go on.
02:58But if you're going to order the flats tomorrow night while watching the game,
03:01you're not getting buffalo sauce.
03:02You're getting another sauce.
03:04No, I don't care.
03:05No, I know you say you don't care, but you prefer...
03:07Oh, in general, yeah.
03:07You get to order it up.
03:08So this is you ordering your own wings.
03:10You're not ordering buffalo sauce.
03:11You're getting the chicken parm and the Asian zing.
03:13Yeah, most likely.
03:14I feel like getting wings tomorrow now.
03:16What are you going to go with?
03:18I like teriyaki.
03:20And I like mango habanero.
03:22Mango habanero is another one?
03:23And I do like above average spice.
03:26Most places have an elite, off-the-charts, ridiculous spice that I just can't do.
03:33Yeah.
03:34You wouldn't do well on that TV show, right?
03:37Have you seen that?
03:38The hot ones?
03:39Lumber log cabin liquidators?
03:41I'd do great on that show.
03:43No, you've seen the hot ones show.
03:45It's an internet show.
03:46I have not.
03:47Where they get celebrities come out and go one to ten different spice levels.
03:50You don't think you'd do well on that?
03:52I think I'd do well for about probably about eight stages.
03:56Well, the eighth stage is the toughest stage.
03:58Oh, is it?
03:58Yeah.
03:59Six stages.
04:01I think Doug would do okay.
04:03I think he'd do fine.
04:04No, he has, I think, above average spice level where he can handle it.
04:09Remember when we went to that Thai place in Vegas?
04:11Yes.
04:12So whenever you try a new place, my rule is you always get mild.
04:15I didn't go to that Thai place in Vegas.
04:17Yeah, I think you were good.
04:18I don't know what you were doing.
04:20We definitely invited you.
04:21I think you were at the pool or something.
04:23I'm sure we invited you.
04:24There's no way we didn't do that.
04:24I was with the golf crew after Doug tried to kill you.
04:27So apparently Doug tries to kill you and then takes you for Thai food and we're all good.
04:30He's best friends.
04:31I didn't try and kill him.
04:32We just went mountain biking in the desert.
04:33So then I tried to kill him with Thai food.
04:36Makes sense.
04:37So anyways, there's a new Thai place.
04:39I get mild at any new place because you just don't know what you're dealing with.
04:42Doug got medium and I remember Doug, you're like, whoo.
04:47It's kind of spicy.
04:48It was aggressive.
04:50Well, because like if you go to Buffalo Wildwood.
04:52You can handle it though.
04:52You like spice.
04:53I do.
04:53The blazing sauce at Buffalo Wildwood.
04:55No.
04:56It's too hot.
04:56Absolutely not.
04:57It's too hot.
04:58There's only one person I know that likes it.
05:01My brother-in-law Dave.
05:03I always wondered, and King, you've watched the Hot Ones show, I'm sure.
05:07Where would that sauce rate on the Hot Ones show?
05:11Is that a four?
05:13Is it a six?
05:14Where is that?
05:14Because that for me is the barometer I have.
05:17Yeah, I feel like it's just above like a five, six.
05:20I mean, I can handle a bite of it.
05:22It's sure a bite of it.
05:23Like, whoa, that's hot and it'll go away.
05:24The problem is you get to that eighth stage, which is the Bomb Beyond Insanity, and you're
05:27screwed because it does not leave your mouth.
05:30And the reaction that everybody has to that particular chicken wing is unbelievable.
05:35Like, the eyes start watering.
05:37Don't touch your eyes, the whole thing.
05:39And people try different things of milk or ice cream or whatever it is that they can to
05:44try to numb the pain.
05:45And it doesn't stop.
05:46And it's like three minutes straight of the worst pain ever.
05:50Worst pain ever?
05:51That's what they say.
05:53It's intense.
05:56Now, see, that tempts me.
05:58See?
05:59I'd like to try them.
06:00It feels like a challenge.
06:01Yeah.
06:02All right.
06:03I did say before the break, and this took over the entire segment, Jamison Williams was
06:08asked about the drop passes.
06:12And we were going to play the sound bites, but they're really, really short.
06:15So I'll just sum it up.
06:17It's cool.
06:18We won.
06:19I missed some opportunities.
06:22But he kept going back to, I'm happy we won the game.
06:25I'm just glad we won the game.
06:27He had, depending on drop counts, I find that there is no definitive list of how many passes
06:36a player dropped.
06:37Like, the game on Sunday, there's some people say he dropped three.
06:42Some people say he dropped four.
06:43Last year, according to Pro Football Reference, he dropped 12.
06:46His 12 drop passes, according to that website, is the most in the NFL a year ago.
06:52It's part of his game.
06:54I would pretty much take the season he had last year over again, and maybe it could go
07:00up as far as getting into the end zone, but he's going to drop a pass here and there.
07:05For a guy who dropped 12 all of last season, to drop three or four, depending on the count
07:10in the opener, feels like it's a statistical, as we like to say, a statistical anomaly.
07:17But it could be, you know, why would he be getting worse?
07:21It doesn't seem like he should be getting worse.
07:24So I'm going to chalk this one up to a really bad opener.
07:26And maybe something to do with not playing in the preseason.
07:29A lot of guys don't play in the preseason and don't exactly bomb.
07:32Well, he didn't bomb, but he actually had a pretty big catch in overtime, although it
07:37wasn't the most difficult.
07:39But the fact that he was as open as he was in overtime shows you how good he is at
07:43route
07:44running and how tough a cover he is.
07:46If this is an every game thing, that's a problem.
07:50But is there any reason to expect it's going to be an every game thing?
07:53I really don't think there is.
07:54I mean, you're not expecting him to have glue for hands, but I'm expecting him to get
08:00open.
08:01And they're going to keep throwing to him.
08:02So catch the vast majority of the passes that are thrown your way, and we'll take the
08:07drops here and there.
08:08It was, like you, I think it was just a horrific start to the season for him.
08:12And he'll bounce back, like he did to that huge catch he had in that drive in overtime.
08:18Your phone calls and feedback next.
08:19Big old tub of pretzels at 1130.
08:21It's Karshan Anderson on 97.1.
