00:03former Minister of Foreign and Caracom Affairs Dr. Amory Brown
00:06criticised the lack of information in relation to the recent trip to Venezuela
00:11by the current Minister Sean Sobers.
00:13Here we are, where they're claiming they're representing us in various endeavours and fora
00:19and there's so little information and details being shared with the national community
00:26and when questions are posed in the Red House, you know what happens.
00:31Most of them are declined, are not approved, and then ministers are dodging the answers in any case.
00:37So it's a very difficult season for Trinidad and Tobago.
00:41Brown hopes that the current administration is not causing irreparable damage
00:46to this country's relations with Venezuela.
00:48We in the opposition, we hope for the best.
00:50We hope that all of the damage that this Prime Minister and Minister and Cabinet
00:55have done to our important relations to Venezuela, we hope that that damage is assuaged
01:01and the interests of our people, our citizens, our children, our grandchildren
01:06would be served by this government, particularly with respect to our oil and gas sector
01:13and the importance of the cross-border energy resources.
01:19He also condemned the way Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissesa has handled relations
01:23with Venezuela's acting president, Delsi Rodriguez.
01:27Well, I don't call that interaction.
01:29You see, at that level, head of government level, you don't talk the people through,
01:33as they were doing before via social media, sending all those insults, doing all the damage,
01:39and now sending love notes via the social and other media, standing on the steps of the Hall of Justice
01:50and saying, I love the president of Venezuela, that's not good enough.
01:54That's not how diplomacy is conducted, and they continue to drag the flag.
