00:00We're just a couple of days removed, Craig, from what should be, I think, a wild Thursday night game where
00:08the total is already 54, 53 and a half, 54 between Detroit and Buffalo.
00:16And I still think it might get a little bit higher, but that kind of number in week two is
00:21obnoxious, Craig, to say the least.
00:25With you 100%, I think Thursday night football has never, that's not fair, has almost never provided high-scoring, high
00:34-flying games.
00:36Someone will say, oh, but do you remember that Seattle Rams game last year?
00:39Yes, I do.
00:40And do you remember the other 15 games?
00:42You know, like, yes, out of the 17 weeks in the NFL season, the Thursday night games will produce four
00:49or five really good games.
00:52A hundred percent, and the rest will be dog you-know-what.
00:56I don't know that this game is going to be dog you-know-what, and I also think that having
01:00the pageantry of opening up a new stadium is special, too.
01:05I am, you know, leaning the way, you know, early in the week or whatever, tomorrow we have to probably
01:10make a decision, but I would lean exactly the way you are on the under.
01:14And I also, I think I will lean Buffalo in this game, which is not something, I hate laying points.
01:22If I can ever avoid laying points in the NFL, I want to do it.
01:25I am very concerned that the Lions are the same team that they were a year ago, that their offense
01:31will carry them to six, seven wins, and their defense will fail them, and they'll lose nine or ten.
01:36And I will, I don't like Detroit, and I hate it, because I love Detroit, and I love the coach,
01:42and I love those players, Joe.
01:44But I'm sorry, the Saints had no business almost going to Detroit and winning that game in overtime on week
01:50one, man.
01:51Like, you prepared.
01:52And the other thing, too, is give your credit to the Saints for a minute, okay?
01:56Give your credit to the Saints.
01:58Joe, what did Dan Campbell and that offense and defense, what were they preparing for for the last five months?
02:05The Saints!
02:06I agree.
02:06And they could barely beat them!
02:08That's all they had to do, was prepare for the Saints, and they couldn't beat them.
02:13All they did, they barely beat them, excuse me.
02:15So, I am not optimistic on them.
02:19I see sort of, like, a 24-16 kind of game on Thursday night, something like that.
02:30Three touchdowns for Buffalo, a touchdown for Detroit.
02:34You know, the golf road thing is real, too, Joe.
02:37You know, it's real.
02:38Like, he does not play as well on the road as he does at home.
02:40You know, the Amon Rob will score his touchdown.
02:43You know, Gibbs will rush for his 50-60 yards, down game maybe for him.
02:46I'm probably going to lean toward Buffalo Thursday.
02:49Hate to do it, though.
02:50Ah, it's just such a ridiculous number across the board for week two.
02:55I mean, somebody has got to play some deep.
02:59And short week, like, you know, great point.
03:01Like, we are not getting 55 points.
03:04I mean, like, you've got to be.
03:07But I do think maybe we rack up some of the passing yards.
03:11So, maybe Josh Allen over on his passing yards.
03:15No, no, Cook.
03:16You know, you don't think?
03:17Cook is the one tomorrow on Thursday.
03:20Cook is absolutely the guy on Thursday.
03:23Whatever their game plan was, Buffalo this past week against Houston,
03:26they totally punted giving Cook the ball at all against Houston.
03:30They're going to give Cook the ball.
03:31Cook is going to have a big game.
03:33That would be my biggest play for Thursdays is betting on Cook Thursday night.
03:39But, look, it's probably going to be an under.
03:41But that's an overtime game, too.
03:43Don't forget.
03:44Right.
03:45But I'm with you.
03:46I mean, you said it last night, and you got it.
03:49You nailed it with the under.
03:50I was thinking of you in the second quarter.
03:52I'm like, he's 100% right.
03:53This is going under the total.
03:55And, by the way, the only reason why it got to 41 points is because the Chiefs just couldn't be
04:00stopped on the ground.
04:01Like, that game should have been, at the most, 24 to 10.
04:05It should not have been 31 to 10.
04:06And Bo Nix just giving the ball and falling down.
04:08It was ridiculous at the end of that game.
04:11Yeah.
04:11Well, it really was here.
04:13And the reason I mentioned the spot for the Lions being not good is because teams coming off overtime losses,
04:21having to play on a short week on a Thursday night.
04:24Yeah, I mean, 23% straight up, 26% against the number.
04:29So, that means it's not good here.
04:32Short work week, extra football.
04:34Now you got to travel.
04:36Yeesh.
04:37Not a good stop.
04:38But the amazing thing is that the Josh Allen, Thursday night games in his career, he's played nine of them.
04:46Eight of the nine, Craig, have gone under.
04:50So, they're not as high scoring as you would have thought with Josh Allen.
04:54Eight and one to the under.
04:57And the Lions in primetime, we know, have been really good under Dan Campbell here.
05:03They have.
05:03They have.
05:04But let me go back to Detroit.
05:06Let me go back to Detroit here for a minute.
05:09Now, what I would say, this is still the reason why I am concerned.
05:14Now, obviously, I don't want to overreact too much to the first week.
05:17And let's also be real, they were up 21-7 in that game.
05:21Or they were up two touchdowns at one point in that game.
05:23But I think, Joe, if you really wanted to do, and not you or anybody, some research, go back and
05:31take a look.
05:32When was the last time that the Lions played a regular season game where they really looked good?
05:39Where you really felt like, wow, this team, Joe, it wasn't the last few games of last year, I can
05:45tell you that.
05:46It may be almost a year ago, you know?
05:49It may be all the way back to the beginning of last year.
