00:00Detroit, obviously, they survived that New Orleans team 31-3 in overtime.
00:05Barely.
00:06But now they have to go into Buffalo in a short week.
00:08Like you said, the first game at Highmark Stadium,
00:12technically the first game.
00:14They had the preseason games.
00:14That's where we got all the memes.
00:16But do you think that Detroit can afford to get into a shootout with Josh Allen?
00:22Because the defenses for both of these teams, eh, not their best trait,
00:29but their offenses, you can make the case that, eh,
00:32it's pretty good firepower on both sides for these offenses.
00:36I would make the argument that Detroit can get into a shootout with anyone
00:41because they have the fastest running back in the league.
00:44They have probably the fastest wide receiver in the league.
00:47They have one of the top upper echelon number ones in the league,
00:51and I'm around St. Brown, and you have a high-level tight end.
00:54Your tackles are A+.
00:56So if anybody can keep scoring, they can keep scoring.
01:00And this is one of the things when Ben Johnson left,
01:02I thought that they would still be able to put up really big numbers.
01:06I thought that offense would still look really, really good
01:09because the parts are still there.
01:10They only lost David Montgomery,
01:12and they only lost David Montgomery to give Jameer Gibbs more carries.
01:16And so I don't see any reason why this can't be one of the highest-scoring
01:21offenses in the NFL like it once was.
01:25But when you take away the mind of Ben Johnson,
01:28but the plays are still there, the magic was in the person,
01:32not necessarily in the playbook,
01:34and you're really seeing that play out in Detroit.
01:37Yeah, I still think, though, I trust Josh Allen more in a game
01:40that becomes a shootout.
01:42I just do.
01:43But you say that, but you say that, but think about it this way.
01:47If the Texans don't drop that pass in the end zone,
01:50Sure, yeah.
01:51They win the game as great as Josh Allen played in that game.
01:56If he doesn't drop that pickoff in the end zone,
02:00the Buffalo Bills are having a different conversation about Josh Allen,
02:04and the conversation is, hey, they finally got him some help with DJ Moore.
02:08The conversation is, they still don't have him enough help.
02:11Look at how they lost that game.
02:13And at the end of the game, he ended it like he ended last year's postseason,
02:16on a turnover.
02:18So, like, which quarterback would you trust more late, Goff or Allen?
02:23Oh, that's a tough question.
02:25Like, because Josh Allen, like you said,
02:27when he threw that meatball sub that almost got caught,
02:31I thought it was like, of course.
02:32That's the number three with extra oil and vinegar on it.
02:34I was like, of course he throws that pass.
02:37And then I look at Jared Goff, and I'm like, okay,
02:39you let him come back down from 21-0 to tie the game,
02:42and you couldn't do anything offensively.
02:43So now, like, who would you trust more?
02:46Because I feel like this game is going to be close, by the way.
02:49I would trust Josh Allen more because he can do it with his legs.
02:53Okay.
02:54And that's the thing that gives him the extra over Jared Goff,
02:58because if the pocket breaks down on Jared Goff,
03:00Jared Goff is going to the ground.
03:02Yeah.
03:03But Jared Goff's got way better weapons.
03:05You guys know I love DJ Moore,
03:08but I would take Jamison Williams at this point in his career over DJ Moore
03:11just simply because of the speed alone.
03:13I would say DJ Moore and Almiron St. Brown are really kind of like 1A and 1B,
03:19in my opinion.
03:21And so the Lions have better weapons.
03:24The Bills have a better quarterback.
03:26And that's kind of the situation that they're in.
03:29So I would say I would trust Josh Allen
03:31because I've seen him get it done with his legs time and time again.
03:34And I can't say I feel the same way about Jared Goff.
03:38And then it's also like,
03:39can Buffalo's defense slow down Jameer Gibbs?
03:42Like you were saying initially.
03:43He was cooking to start the game.
03:45Oh, to start the game.
03:46Sure.
03:47And by the way,
03:48Isaiah Pacheco is going to be out for a long time until like December for Detroit.
03:51So he's not coming back anytime soon.
03:53They don't have Montgomery anymore.
03:54So it's basically just Jameer Gibbs.
03:56Hey, go on.
03:57Go out there and do what you do.
03:59We're going to ride you for the whole game.
04:00But do you think that Buffalo's defense is can't like,
04:05can they slow down Jameer Gibbs or is it just going to be Detroit stopping themselves on offense?
04:10Because that's what they did against the Saints.
04:12After what I saw David Montgomery due to the Bills defense.
04:17I, I think it's going to be a lot more of that, but faster.
04:21I think Jameer Gibbs is going to light the scoreboard up.
04:25I think this is going to be a really high fantasy weekend for him or a night for him again.
04:30But again, that doesn't necessarily ensure you a win.
04:33Right.
04:34Because their defense isn't great either.
04:36And that's what they prided themselves on.
04:38The, the, the, the, the defense going along with Ben Johnson's offense was a marriage made.
04:44It was a, it was lock and key.
04:46And now you just kind of find yourself looking for the pass rush,
04:50the sack that they used to get at the end of the game or the, the, the deflection or the
04:55pickoff to win the game.
04:56And it's just, it's not there anymore.
04:58It's not there.
04:59And so I, I, Detroit's got a lot of question marks and I can't wait to get some of them
05:03answered tonight.
