00:05Win there gets it done against the Twins.
00:07Yankees clinched a playoff spot.
00:10Dodgers had clinched a playoff spot.
00:12So we know what it's going to come down to.
00:15It's going to come down to the last couple of games there, Craig,
00:18for the Everyone Else crew.
00:20Arizona with a nice come-from-behind win last night,
00:24much to the Marlins chagrin there.
00:26But Marlins have another crack at them here tonight, late night at 940.
00:33But right now, what do you do with teams at this time of year, Craig?
00:37I'm curious.
00:38Are the Yankees celebrating a postseason berth,
00:42or is it just business as usual for teams that have been there and done this?
00:48Well, the reason why they celebrate making the postseason
00:50is just because it's such a grind, Joe, no matter how you slice it.
00:55But playing 160 games and being with the guys for six, seven months,
00:59I think even though that's not the end game for the Yankees,
01:03you have to celebrate some.
01:05So, yeah, of course.
01:07Like, if they lose in the first round in a wild-card series against Boston,
01:10if that's what it ends up being,
01:12it's going to be a very disappointing season for them.
01:14But I think you still do have to celebrate there.
01:17Even with the injury to Lozardo,
01:19you're going to see Philadelphia clinch soon.
01:21You're going to see the Cubs clinch soon.
01:23And, you know, really what has sort of been shaken up,
01:27as I mentioned at the top of the show,
01:29and maybe we really shouldn't be surprised by this,
01:32is now Houston is falling and Texas is rising.
01:35And so that last hope for the Rangers to potentially make the playoffs is there.
01:40They finish off, I believe, with Minnesota and another team that isn't very good.
01:45They have a softer schedule than Houston does down the stretch.
01:48Now, they don't play each other,
01:49so this could literally come down to, like, the last week or the last day of the season,
01:53similar to that Arizona-San Diego series.
01:55But that is now the one to watch,
01:57because Texas has not only put themselves back into a West position,
02:02but they could even fight for that final wild-card position with Cleveland.
02:06If Cleveland doesn't win tonight,
02:08I think it's fair to say, down two and a half games with, like, ten to go,
02:12that the White Sox would end up winning the division.
02:15But this is the critical series, of course, still going on in the Central.
02:19Yeah, and it's, I mean, a bad, and let's not forget,
02:23we still have the Toronto Blue Jays very much in this,
02:28and what are the game behind?
02:30So Toronto's got some wins,
02:32and who's been there and done that more than Toronto over the last year?
02:36So, I mean, look at those numbers, Craig.
02:38I mean, 500.
02:39Does anybody finish above 500, win the West, do you think?
02:44It's going to come right down to the last day of the season.
02:46You know, probably 80-81 wins, yeah.
02:49Like, I think that's, I think that, and then that final wild-card,
02:53you know, could very well come down, Joe, to the last day.
02:55But, you know, Houston is just such a funny team,
03:00and I know Alvarez has been banged up a little bit.
03:03And you see those odds?
03:05Like, honestly, that's really hard to believe
03:07that those are the current odds for the division.
03:09I mean, how could that be?
03:11I mean, I guess Houston must have won the season series with Texas.
03:14It's the only thing that I can think of,
03:16because as far as what I see the schedule down the stretch,
03:20I see Texas with the better path here,
03:22and they've been the hotter team.
03:25But, look, Houston's going to have to get Jordan going again.
03:28He's losing some steam for everything,
03:31for Triple Crown, for winning the MVP.
03:33Everyone's saying now maybe Junior Camonero wins the MVP
03:36for the Tampa Bay Rays.
03:37I thought that that was locked up with Alvarez winning it at this point.
03:41It still does appear that he is.
03:43But what would happen if Alvarez, you know,
03:46didn't do anything in the final 10 days?
03:49Could this shift significantly?
03:51I mean, the odds are telling us no,
03:52so I'm not going to try and pitch that.
03:54But Camonero did have a really strong finish to their season.
03:57And the Rays this weekend can clinch not just the playoffs,
04:04which they've clinched already,
04:04they can clinch the division this weekend as well.
