00:00But we have to remind ourselves, last year in 2025, the best team in baseball at the end of the
00:04season, it was the Los Angeles Dodgers, ultra-talented, and proved their medal once they got into the playoffs.
00:10But this season, we're expected to be even better, back-to-back-to-back champions as the possibility.
00:15But you look right now with the best team in Major League Baseball winning percentage-wise and wins in the
00:21bank, that's the Atlanta Braves, 36-17.
00:23It's not the Dodgers, but the Dodgers do sit here at 32-20 on this Major League Baseball season, against
00:29teams above 500, 11-9, and one-run games, right around 500 at 6-7.
00:34But look at that. They're expected win-loss percentage.
00:36And by the way, that's probably the biggest differential we've posted on the screen today, 32-20, which they should
00:41be 38-14.
00:43We know from start to finish that roster is absolutely incredible.
00:47But also, as we told you again last year, not the best overall record in baseball, not even the best
00:52record in the National League, but still, the talent, once it's healthy, to put you over the top.
00:57You look at the Dodgers this season. They're in first place right now in the West, 32-20, as we
01:01stated.
01:02The Padres, which we'll get to in just a little bit, sit at 31-20.
01:06But you say to yourself, all right, if we're coming out of Memorial Day or into Memorial Day weekend, where
01:10do they sit basically in the odds market?
01:12Did you think they're minus 1,000 to win this division here because of the expectations put on top of
01:18them here?
01:19Again, look at the expected win-loss percentage, 38-14, which would be the best record in Major League Baseball.
01:25Then you look at the roster.
01:26Otani and Betts, Freeman, Tucker, Paz, Muncy, Smith, Teixeira Hernandez, and Kim in that lineup.
01:32It's like, well, how can you beat them?
01:34Here's the question that we're going to come down to.
01:36And one thing I actually didn't know that we would see.
01:39Shohei Otani, we know he's phenomenal.
01:41He's a really good pitcher, but maybe the best hitter in Major League Baseball.
01:44Who would have thought on this season right now?
01:47Shohei Otani, eight games started, 49 innings pitched, a .73 ERA.
01:54This isn't a closer.
01:55This isn't an opener that comes in, just throws hard for nine pitches, then gets out of there.
01:59This is a starter that's been filthy.
02:01And boy, have the Dodgers needed that.
02:03You take a look at the IEL list for their pitchers.
02:06Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell included on that.
02:08We don't know how healthy they're going to be for the rest of the season.
02:11So now you're saying you're leaning on Shohei Otani, and he's really picking up the slack here.
02:16But also in that starting lineup, Robleski's pitching in there, not expected for him.
02:20Emmett Chiem, one of the younger pitchers in that rotation, he's got close to a five ERA.
02:24Yamamoto's been good at 3.32.
02:26But it's been Otani's team here.
02:28Forget about the plate as a pitching staff.
02:30But understand this from what we saw from the Dodgers last year.
02:34This is a team that understands the long haul of the season.
02:37Hang around, make the playoffs, because when we get there, the superstars are going to provide that extra punch that
02:42we saw from them on the front end of the rotation.
02:44But the interesting part for me on those Los Angeles Dodgers moving forward is, what are we actually getting from
02:50that starting staff?
02:50And also, we know the Dodgers got deep pockets.
02:53You know what they're going to do?
02:54They're going to pay for talent at the deadline.
02:56And then if they can get those pitchers healthy by the time you get to the postseason, yeah, you'll see
03:01Cy Young caliber pitchers coming in the fifth inning out of the bullpen.
03:05It's what the Dodgers do.
