00:00It's the end of summer. So here's how to make a gathering with the flowers that you have left
00:04in your garden. I'm going to start with some of these really tall flowers. So this is called
00:10verbascum and I'm going to make a bouquet in the hand just to make it look a lot more natural,
00:16a lot more free. This one is some status. Now I've still got a few of these zinnias. These
00:23have been amazing, very resilient. Another star of the late summer garden is this globe thistle
00:29or echinops. When it comes to the bigger flowers you can place these lower down and make possibly
00:35more in the center. When you've got these tall area spires you have these at the top creating lots of
00:40lovely movement of dancing above everything else. At this point you just keep adding in and just layer
00:46up. I've created the basic shape and what we can start to do is actually feed stems into the center.
00:53So just loosen your hand and wiggle until you can push that into the center there like that. You'll
00:58see as I'm building this I'm creating more of a domed shape so these stems that are going in here
01:03are going in lower down and that will give you this really beautiful natural shape and give lots of
01:09these stems room to move. Feels like that needs to be nodding above everything else doesn't it?
01:14Once you've poked a stem through the center like that a good idea is to find it underneath and pull
01:20it through from the bottom. When your bouquet is finished you could tie it off using some twine and give
01:26it
01:26as it is as a gift or just cut these stems so they're pretty much all the same length and
01:31then
01:32you can place it directly into the vase and your arrangement should hold. You can pull out anything
01:38that you want to give a little bit more prominence or maybe add a couple of stems if you see
01:43a little
01:43gap. Keep the water nice and fresh if you change it every two days these flowers will stay really happy
01:49and they should last up to a week in the vase.
