DILG, BJMP give updates on ex-Speaker Romualdez transfer to QC jail

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, together with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), gives an update regarding the transfer of former House Speaker Martin Romualdez at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory, in a press briefing on Tuesday, Sept. 15.  Romualdez's transfer last Monday night, Sept. 14, was in compliance with the order of the Sandiganbayan Third Division. BJMP spokesperson Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said upon the ex-Speaker's arrival, he complied with the standard booking procedures such as the taking of fingerprints and mugshot, after which Romualdez was taken to his assigned cell. 01:09Dumaan po siya sa isang standard booking procedures.

01:13Ito yung kanyang mugshot, fingerprints.

01:16At the same time, nagkaroon tayo ng interviews and basic orientation.

01:21After these booking procedures, siya po ay dinala sa kanyang assigned cell.

01:25Ito po ay infirmary ward. May kasama po siya doon.

01:28Pang-apat po siya, bali, apat sila doon ngayon. May tatlo siyang naabutan.

01:33Ang kanya pong cell placement ay basis sa evaluation na rin ng kanyang mga doktor.

01:40At ganoon na din yung evaluation ng independent doctors natin from PGH,

01:45basis sa kautusan ng Sandigan Bayan 3rd Division.

01:49Makikita po natin yung mga rekomendasyon doon na hindi naman na niya kailangang makonfine further sa hospital.

01:55Kasi kaya naman na po, nagmanifest ng BJMP, nakakayanin ang mga medical intervention at mga kailangan niya sa loob ng

02:04piitan.

02:05Sa ngayon po, wala po naman pong natanggap ang BJMP ng any incident or negative report

02:10since pagkakakulong ni former representative Romualdez and we presume normal situation as of today.
