00:00so i started selling weed and acid and shrooms and eventually i started staying in the abandoned
00:05apartment stealing for food one day i was actually doing acid alone in this abandoned apartment the
00:11maintenance came by to fix up the apartment i sneak out tripping on acid where do i go what i
00:15do she picks me up got me some food her showing me the love of christ in a really practical
00:20way
00:20that shattered just the way i thought about everything these kids couldn't pay attention
00:24to my super cool awesome presentation but they're able to like be engrossed for hours on what most
00:30people consider the most boring part of the bible the tabernacle and that blew my mind for our first
00:34kickstarter we raised a little under a quarter of a million for the tabernacle set the mission of bible
00:39bricks is that god loves you and more than that god likes you as a human and he wants to
00:45be with you
00:46all right i'm here with sean sutton the owner and creator of bible bricks i'm going to call them
00:54biblical or bible based or christian legos i know they're not technically legos and probably
01:00legally you're not allowed to call them legos but just so people know what we're talking about
01:03yeah they are um they are christian themed building bricks just like legos um biblically accurate and uh
01:12man such a cool cool product uh and i think it's necessary in the homes of christian not even just
01:20christian families and kids but as an adult like i love legos and so i think adults can appreciate
01:26them as well so christians who like legos are gonna love bible bricks but we'll get into all that uh
01:32sean
01:33i want you to just start by telling us just a little bit about yourself your testimony and then we'll
01:38get
01:38into all the juicy details about bible bricks all right man uh my testimony a little bit i was raised
01:45in a christian household uh really awesome mom my dad passed away when i was young uh from drug overdose
01:53i'm sorry so yeah that was that was tough when i got older but yeah born in virginia my mom
02:00moved
02:00us to arkansas soon after that happened because and arkansas was more of the christian side of my
02:06mom's family and so got us here got me into a nice christian school and a good church community at
02:13this really fun mega church that i went to growing up um but yeah so i grew up in church
02:19my whole life
02:20you know sunday morning all day wednesday night stuff everything right and you know did that for
02:30years and you know as i got older you know i i kind of had the feeling that like my
02:36faith feels
02:36kind of fake like it's just like a cultural thing uh everyone was just we're just going on mission
02:41trips and doing all these things but like we're still like having you know all of these hidden sins
02:47that we just held on to and like weren't ready to give up and but i was always terrified of
02:54going to
02:54hell you know so i was like god please forgive me my sins please don't send me to hell for
02:59all of
02:59eternity um and so like when i was six i backtracked a little bit when i was six you know
03:05me and my mom
03:06were like visiting my dad's grave and which is pretty heavy of course i'm like so like what what is
03:12what
03:12is this what happens when you die and she said well you know your dad made a lot of mistakes
03:18but he he
03:19trusted in jesus and so we believe he'll be in heaven one day i'm like heaven sounds sweet better than
03:24the
03:25alternative so you know i got dunked uh so i got baptized when i was like sixth and growing up
03:31in
03:31christian school having this kind of fake faith and growing up my mom actually she shared that my dad
03:37passed away from heart failure actually uh for a long time because technically when he overdosed he was
03:43on life support and when you're taking off life support your heart fails so technically true but like
03:50she was trying to protect me from the that kind of harsh and sad reality yeah and so i learned
03:55that
03:55yeah i learned that in high school she told me about that and then you know i had one of
04:01my grandparents
04:02died one of my uh cousins got shot up in iowa he was in a gang doing these things and
04:09so yeah my junior
04:10and senior year were really tough and that led me to kind of seek comfort in just partying and all
04:18of
04:18these things so starting to get into that scene then college came went to the university of arkansas
04:22for my first year and then you know got into smoking weed and i'm like i love this this is
04:30great um
04:31you know self-medication and loved it but couldn't afford the hobby so i started selling weed and acid
04:38and shrooms and i was big into all that stuff and you know at one point in my freshman year
04:45i had the
04:45conscious thought in my mind i said god like i don't even know if you're real honestly but i think
04:51i'm doing pretty good on my own so i'm good i told god i'm good i don't need this and
04:57god pretty much
04:58just said all right good luck with that like i'm not going to force you to do this with me
05:04and so after
05:06my freshman year i decided to take a gap year uh and i think i'm going on like year seven
05:11or eight of my
05:11gap year now um but i said i'm gonna take a gap year figure out what i want to do
05:17and i was just
05:18living in an apartment with some guys doing drugs all day really doing nothing um and then there's a
05:24bunch of bad influences around at that point and they were just like teaching me how to steal you know
05:30from stores to get like free money for gas and you know and all these things and i pawned off
05:36like my
05:37nice camera to re-up on drugs to sell and someone stole my laptop my nice mac and then i
05:44totaled my
05:44car and one of the guys i was living with stole all my drugs and all my cash and that's
05:49my livelihood
05:51and then eventually the guy i was living with kicked me out of the apartment so and i had broken
05:58my iphone
05:58at this point so i had just like a cheap phone i got at the store and so and i
06:04wasn't really welcome
06:04at home uh my stepdad came into the scene when i was maybe 13 or 14. uh he was great
06:10but we didn't
06:11really see eye to eye for a long time um and i wasn't really welcome at home because i was
06:16smoking
06:16cigarettes and you know stepdad said like no you're not gonna like do that around here and of course i
06:21reeked like weed like all the time and so it wasn't welcome there so i kind of just couched out
06:27for a
06:28little bit and eventually you know that wasn't working out with the number of people so i started
06:34staying in the bando the abandoned apartment uh at this apartment complex you know it was just
06:39where people do drug deals and all this stuff and so the the lock was broken in so i just
06:44went in i
06:45took a chair put up against the door to keep it locked and just living in there and stealing for
06:52food and all these things uh really just the lowest of the low and one day i was actually uh
06:59doing acid
07:00alone in this abandoned apartment and that day that i happened to do that the maintenance came
07:06by to uh fix up the apartment the one i was in and the one across i'm like oh no
07:12uh so i was like
07:14looking at the people or the eye hole and then they go to the one across and then i sneak
07:18out tripping on
07:19acid like tripping sack and i get out and then like like where do i go what i do all
07:25of my friends at
07:26that point uh obviously weren't really around yeah and one of my actual buddies he was actually
07:33at camp as a camp counselor but his girlfriend was around i'm like hey hannah like i'm in a really
07:39bad
07:39place like could you come pick me up and she did she picks me up she took me to sonic
07:44got me you know
07:46some food i hadn't had like a real meal in like a while and and then she took me to
07:51her place let me
07:52take a shower get a fresh change of clothes on and gave me a safe place to just chill come
07:57down
07:58and figure something out and that for me was my turning point and kind of my framework because
08:06before that i was super prideful i thought i knew it all but her showing me the love of christ
08:11like in
08:12a really practical way like yeah that shattered uh my self-image and just the way i thought about
08:21everything yeah so eventually one of my buddies he he lets me stay with him for a while then i
08:28get
08:28back into i was quite humbled by this whole experience so i was looking back into religions
08:33and stuff and eventually uh i was looking at new age and all these things but eventually uh jesus
08:39pulled me back and changed my life there's a lot more to that story but that's uh really how you
08:46know
08:46i went from growing up with that childhood faith losing it because it wasn't a deep faith
08:53and god bringing me back after letting me experience the natural results of my choices
08:59yeah no man thank you for sharing it's definitely powerful i was reminded of uh the proverb that says
09:04there's a way that seems right to the man but in the end it leads to destruction and and you
09:07were
09:07thinking like man i know better i know what how to live my life what to do but you saw
09:11the destruction
09:12that you making those decisions led to um but you know god is good he's gracious he's merciful and
09:17like he pulled you back and and you know you were able to know that you could reach out to
09:21someone
09:22who knew christ and then was able to show you that love and i think you you made a very
09:25good statement
09:26of saying like the practical love of christ you know we can tell people jesus loves them all day and
09:30he does it's true but we are called to be his hands and feet as well and to actually practically
09:35love
09:36people extend ourselves and help people uh however we can and so you know i love that someone was able
09:42to do that they were used by the lord to do that and eventually you know lead you back and
09:46uh you
09:47know wake you up to to the lifestyle or like the life you were in and and help you get
09:51back there so
09:52man thank you for sharing it and i can say too i can definitely relate to like i grew up
09:55in the church
09:55as well kind of having that like fake faith secret sins and then once you kind of get out on
10:01your
10:01own like i did some partying and stuff too and just like trying to live life on your own and
10:06so
10:06our stories are definitely different but similar themes in that way of like man like when you just
10:10grow up in the church there's a point where it has to be real to you it has to be
10:14authentic and you
10:14have to choose that say i'm going to follow the lord and you know i'm going to make this conscious
10:19decision as opposed to just growing up in it so man but thank you for sharing that so you know
10:24further down the line now you're a believer and how did bible bricks come about how was it like
10:30you know i'm going to create basically legos but they're going to be all christian stories or bible
10:36stories and themes yep yeah man so after i came back to the faith uh i was a very zealous
10:43christian
10:43i was a very legalistic and hardcore christian let's go as can be the case for a lot of people
10:49yeah um but i was back in church i was in ministry at this point you know telling everyone how
10:54terrible
10:55they were how they need to change their lives um but thankfully that's a whole nother part of my
11:00testimony about god changing my mind in that way but yeah uh in october of 2024 i was actually at
11:07a
11:07church camp and i was a speaker among a few others there and i was i thought i was giving
11:13a super
11:14awesome presentation like fire and my powerpoints were on point you know good delivery all these things
11:20the adults and the teenagers and like the older kids like they're able to pay attention and follow
11:25you know with my cool powerpoints um but like a lot of the kids were like super bored they were
11:32just
11:32like counting ceiling tiles or just like sleeping i'm like dang um but then i went outside like right
11:39after that and one of my buddies hero he actually brought his lego minecraft set and he was out at
11:46a
11:46bench outside and he was actually trying to build the tabernacle with it um and a bunch of other kids
11:52were like all around and like super into it and i'm like wait a minute like these kids couldn't pay
11:59attention to my super cool awesome presentation on cool topics interesting exciting topics but they're
12:06able to like be engrossed for hours on what most people consider the most boring part of the bible
12:12right the the tabernacle all these instructions for you know things that people normally skip over
12:17in their yearly bible reading plan um and that blew my mind i'm like okay like this has to be
12:24a thing
12:25and so i google i see like christian legos and i found like a few things that were like pretty
12:31low quality
12:31and just didn't look good or nice and i've been doing some entrepreneurial stuff before this like
12:38print on demand t-shirt shop that was terrible and you know a few other things but i'm like let
12:45me just
12:45see if i can make this happen so i just started the process and god opened one door after the
12:50other
12:50and just really led the way um i don't know if we want to get into that but yeah it's
12:56it's been a really
12:56fun process for sure yeah i do want to circle back to that actually but i do want to talk
13:01for for
13:02anyone who doesn't know kind of more about bible bricks specifically with you know what currently are some
13:07of the sets that you've successfully created that are you know available and and let's talk about
13:13those a little just to give a little bit more context to it and then kind of go back to
13:16how
13:16more of this came to fruition yeah so the first set we did because my buddy was trying to do
13:22the
13:22tabernacle that was the one i just started out of just kind of impulsively and so i was like pretty
13:28far down development with that and some people like i'm like hey what do you think about this business
13:32idea and they're like i like it like why the tabernacle why not like a nativity set or this
13:39you know and i'm like it's like i've already come this far though yeah i was already planning to
13:46kick start i was i was too deep um and then i kind of justified it to myself like well
13:50if we can make
13:51the most boring part of the bible interesting and be able to sell that we should be able to sell
13:55anything yeah i mean it's fair it's logical yeah so this is our first set the tabernacle it's quite
14:03large um really fun because you can open up the top see all the stuff inside it's really neat a
14:10lot
14:10of people get nervous when i touch the ark of the covenant piece i i'll stop you for a second
14:16too
14:16because i know i've i've heard you talk about like the quality of the sets before and how you know
14:20obviously like you know lego's a multi-billion dollar company they're top quality right but you
14:25have been able to come very close to that quality despite you know being limited in resources and
14:31funds and not having a team of thousands of people to help you it's you're still touching really good
14:35quality but even you just holding up the box it's like you can tell even in the presentation like this
14:39is a quality like you know i don't for people who don't know like even in the lego world people
14:43resell the boxes they resell every little piece of lego because the collectors want everything and so
14:49even the quality of the boxes is important to people so bringing in a product into that space
14:53just because it's christian doesn't i mean one i think that we should be then trying to match the
14:57quality like you're doing right we should try to do the best we can to honor the lord with with
15:01their
15:01work so to see even the box is like man this is it's well printed it looks quality it's like
15:06something
15:06that for a collector it's like i would even set the box up on my shelf to display it so
15:11i just love that
15:11i just want to point that out as i saw it yeah man i'm not trying to make this a
15:15big i'm not trying to
15:16make it a bible break and i was just i'm being genuine in what i'm saying for everyone watching this
15:20like he's just
15:20trying to sell me bible bricks it's like yeah you should buy them but i think they're cool thank
15:25you man yeah we spent really a lot of time just because that's the thing i i scoured the internet
15:31looking i looked at all the off-brand legos and you know mattel and there's just a bunch out there
15:38now
15:38and like getting them checking out the brick quality finding out who produces what where you know
15:43everything's made in china pretty much um and so i had narrowed it down to like two or three
15:48brick manufacturers in china and uh for those that don't know the patents for the actual bricks
15:54the lego bricks probably like 90 95 of those patents are expired so anyone can produce those
16:02you just have to be careful for that five to ten percent that aren't yeah they're so patented but
16:07yeah so we ended up launching a kickstarter for the tabernacle and after that i actually went over to
16:12china to visit the manufacturers check it out make sure not using any sweatshops to make christian
16:18products right that's awesome yeah you did your due diligence that's right and yeah we found a
16:25really awesome partner they're the biggest brick manufacturer in the world besides lego they're
16:32really really great we've had a good relationship with them and yeah we just strive to have the best
16:36quality to do everything to the lord and not to man so that's why our bricks are the highest quality
16:41we can use all from one manufacturer whereas other brands will source from different ones and then
16:47like brick quality will be different color consistency will be different and another
16:52big thing is we don't do stickers uh because stickers are the worst like you try to get on like
16:57it's never right it's right so we only do printed pieces it's like here's like our 10 commandments
17:05that are printed on there um but yeah man and our instructions have bible verses all throughout
17:12so like the tabernacle when you're building the uh altar of sacrifice you read the verses from the old
17:17testament describing like it's made of wood and overlaid with bronze and here's four horns on the
17:23four corners and so you read that and then you read the verses about jesus being the lamb of god
17:29right so kind of showing the old testament passages and showing how christ fulfills each part of it
17:35because really that's that's our big emphasis we want people to just look at jesus and to think about
17:40jesus and become like jesus amen um but yeah that's that's where we're at yeah no that's honestly it's
17:47really cool and like you said the whole point is to point people back to christ and it's like you
17:50can
17:50do that even with you know bricks with with legos like that can point people back to jesus so it's
17:55really cool all right so tell me a little bit about kind of where you've seen the lord then open
17:59the
17:59doors or in other ways of you building this business how has have you just seen god move um yeah
18:07yeah man so the the most obvious way that i've seen god move is just seeing the reactions
18:14of people that buy the sets and seeing like seeing the experiences that either they or their kids are
18:20having with the set it's like my kid built this and read all the verses and knows so much about
18:27this
18:27part of the bible now or it opened up the the inorganic place for them to ask questions about these
18:33things like god why or mom and dad why did god do such and such here i don't understand and
18:38that's
18:38that's one of the big points to create those natural moments for families to have those conversations
18:44yeah you know pastors will put up some of our stuff in their offices or their homes and when
18:49people are over they're always asking questions so because it's a weird unique thing that yeah isn't
18:56common so it provides a really awesome opportunity to share your faith with people
19:00um and then besides that just seeing excuse me seeing god work like in the behind the scenes of
19:08the business side of stuff right so for our first kickstarter we raised a little under a quarter of
19:14a million for the tabernacle set yeah and that's god gave me that's crazy it is crazy and especially
19:22looking back right because leading up to the last one we we worked on building up a lot of interest
19:28for
19:28it beforehand and we did a lot of advertising on facebook and instagram and all that and we did
19:34the same thing for this our newest daniel set that was just on kickstarter recently and it's crazy to
19:41see like how far our marketing money went with the tabernacle set compared to like the current
19:48marketing environment i like i took a lot of stuff for granted like you know how god blessed that project
19:54i didn't realize it until like in hindsight it's like dang like god was giving us really great
19:59deals on some of these things and we didn't even know it um and then really just like one of
20:06the most
20:06inspiring things has been seeing christians from all walks of life and all denominational backgrounds and
20:11histories and environments like come together for like excuse me come together for this cool project
20:19and and just see like people working to build this thing and it's cool because the tabernacle was built
20:25by like taking goodwill offerings from israel yeah the different tribes literally gave goodwill offerings to
20:32make this thing and that's literally how we built the tabernacle through goodwill offerings of the church
20:38um so things like that and then god just bring in the right team members at the right time like
20:44in the very beginning i hired like a really cheap guy and like a like a third world country off
20:50of
20:50like a freelancer platform to like try to make this and then i went in and i updated a bunch
20:56of stuff
20:56it's like we needed to have exactly 20 boards on this side and this the most holy place needs to
21:01be
21:01an exact square uh so like i updated a lot but like it was funny i actually saw uh someone
21:08post a
21:09screenshot of our set on a lego subreddit like bashing us like they were haters right um and
21:16most of them were christians but there were some christians like like this is a cool idea but like
21:21yes bro and uh there's a lot of hate uh but there's like good feedback too but like for me
21:29like i really
21:30try to take the hate like take the good from the hate and uh constructive criticism right and like
21:37do make good points it's like dang you're right like the courtyard is kind of boring looking so
21:42like if you compare the images of the tabernacle from our kickstarter versus now like it's a big
21:47improvement and god brought the right people at the right time to help update the set and just make
21:53it so much better than like i me and this other freelancer did yeah um so yeah just that kind
21:59of
21:59stuff has been really awesome to see yeah i think the coolest thing probably about everything you said was
22:04at the beginning where seeing like kids actually start asking questions and finding interest in
22:09these biblical stories which was literally what started the whole thing is you saw kids interested
22:14in this very boring part of the bible through legos and you're like what if i can make that happen
22:20you know for everyone and you're seeing that like you're seeing that come to fruition you're
22:24seeing that in real life and so like the actual reason you started seeing that happen is so cool
22:29but yeah i will say when it comes to haters like they're the best at giving advice at the end
22:34of
22:34the day because they're going to be raw and honest with you even if they mean to demean you like
22:37if you
22:38can just not take offense to what they're saying and be like wait maybe there's actually something
22:42here i'll make this constructive criticism um a hundred percent so it's good that you were able to do
22:47that um and it's really cool uh so i want to ask you what's your what's your favorite go through
22:53all the sets you currently have and then tell me which one is your favorite sure so tabernacle was
22:59our first one and then after that we did a little resurrection set for easter so that one was really
23:08fun yeah that's cool um yeah you can turn the break the seal and the stone rolls away that's really
23:15fun uh no jesus figure because he's not here he is risen um come on truly accurate i've done every
23:24detail that's right so we did that and then we switched it up and we did uh a little display
23:31set
23:32showing the the baptism right when jesus was baptized but john and you know the voice from
23:37heaven with the dove you know crucifixion and resurrection so we did that one next um and we
23:44did those two specifically because we had a lot of issues in the early days with our our figure provider
23:50because we can't it's really difficult to use like genuine lego minifigures because you have to
23:55buy the pieces from lego you know customize them repackage and even then
24:01like there's a lot of limitations to that so we found an initial uh partner that had an alternative
24:07figure but it it didn't work out well with him so we switched to make one in-house but while
24:13that was
24:13in development we're like we need to make stuff that doesn't have any figures um so that's where
24:18those two sets came from and then there's the daniel set i don't have the box here yet because it's
24:23being finalized now i have a prototype in the kitchen but that one's really fun so in terms of
24:29my favorites i think the tabernacle is my favorite in terms of it's just a fun visual and the depth
24:37of
24:39like theology that you can dig into with it i think that's really fun and just you can really fit
24:43a lot
24:43of details in there because it has a lot of details in the bible yeah yeah so i like that
24:48and then i like
24:49the daniel set that we just did here let me go grab it real quick this is the prototype of
24:54our daniel set
24:55which is like half babylonian palace and half lion's den at the bottom yeah and let me turn it
25:01around here this one's super fun how many pieces is it so this one's like 1700 little wow yeah and
25:09so
25:09you have like like a little office space for daniel here daniel's like living quarters up top uh the
25:15throne room over here and you could actually pull out this pin let's see if i can do it with
25:18one hand
25:19pull the pin and there's a trap door to the lion's den and actually have the lion the lion was
25:25on top
25:26of the the palace as a guard um but uh this one is my favorite set in terms of like
25:33building experience
25:34i think just because it's like we tried mixing like the lego castle vibe with the batalonian colors and
25:41style a little bit so uh that one's a lot of fun to build and play with and that one
25:48will be our first
25:48one with like a lot of figures our custom figures so it'll have like daniel darius um a persian guard
25:57and two satraps that plot against daniel and an angel um so yeah man that one's a lot of fun
26:04to play
26:04with so yeah yeah it's really cool are you i mean i don't know if you're able to say or
26:09is there any other
26:10sets on the horizon or do you know what's next i know you just did the daniel but
26:14like what are you thinking about next yes we we have many plans okay um i i will say you
26:22can
26:22probably expect to hear an announcement for a new product in a couple of weeks here okay that i'm
26:28super excited for uh hint it'll probably be just in time for this next season that's approaching um
26:35um and then for 2027 we have a lot of big plans that we're we're going to share some stuff
26:42pretty
26:42soon but you can expect to see a lot more stuff from us in the near future yeah that's awesome
26:48so
26:48and i guess from the business side i know everything is done through kickstarter right now do you have
26:52plans to transition to like some sort of storefront where it's like hey people can just buy it and order
26:57it um and and what does that look like yeah so we started the tabernacle on kickstarter and after
27:05that we moved it to our website on shopify and so you can go to bywordbricks.com and so yeah
27:11you can
27:12grab a tabernacle i didn't even realize today yeah so you can get that one there the resurrection sold
27:16out uh for last easter but it'll be back around and so you get the tabernacle in the life of
27:21christ
27:21that right now okay um and then daniel will be that was on the kickstarter we'll probably open up
27:27pre-orders you know in a few weeks or a month or something maybe uh up on our website so
27:34yeah yeah
27:36that's really cool so throughout the process then of like starting this was there ever a point where
27:40it's like you know i'm gonna quit or has like the lord just really been like opening doors to where
27:45it's like no this is happening and i may have not like you didn't maybe you didn't expect it to
27:49get
27:49this big but like it's just it's going well so did you experience any of those moments of like doubts
27:54or has the lord really just been like showing so much favor in this yeah god is really yeah it's
28:00been both it's been both for sure god has shown a ton of favor and as such it's grown really
28:05fast
28:06really quickly and which has been amazing it's been super fun but from a business side of things it can
28:12be quite stressful um because when it grows really big you have to start hiring people for
28:19you know product development and marketing and this and that and a bunch of different things so
28:23your monthly costs are quite high and you have to and then you know not only that but throughout our
28:30process i made a bunch of mistakes um just in terms of business stuff because this is like my first
28:35like
28:35real business thing yeah um so like had a few uh partners for like our initial alternative figure
28:45it was great in the beginning but ended up making our kickstarter like two and a half months late
28:49than we were expecting and then uh our distribution partner early on we had a lot of issues there
28:57uh we thought they had the capacity to fulfill our stuff in a timely manner and all this but i
29:03think
29:03they're a little over ambitious in what they could do and so we had a lot of issues there and
29:09so customer
29:09service was a big nightmare for a long time i was getting a bunch of emails where's my set you
29:14know
29:14you said it's gonna be here then i'm like yeah and then we we send out email updates to be
29:19as transparent
29:19as possible but not everyone reads those updates um right yeah so there's definitely been a lot of
29:26trying times but you know seeing people's reactions and responses and seeing how this is impacting kids
29:34uh that's really what gives me the strength like all right let's let's keep going we'll keep building
29:40you know and then doing working on the business building out systems and processes so hopefully it
29:46becomes a little bit easier to bear as time goes on yeah no definitely yeah the business side of of
29:52anything there's always a thousand moving pieces it's it's crazy and like you know i do content full
29:58time but there's a lot of business elements to what i'm doing with working with different people and
30:02and doing different things and this is the first time i've ever worked for myself and so i can tell
30:06you it's like yeah i've made the mistakes i've mismanaged things and like you you just never know
30:11especially with working with other people it's like relationships can go sideways for all different
30:14sorts of reasons um so i can only imagine dealing with like a physical product because i've not had to
30:19do that uh how much more of you know some of these headaches can come up but man like you
30:25you're crushing it
30:26the product is obviously highly desired it's it's such a cool product and to hear like that people are
30:31really being impacted especially kids you know learning more about the bible um i think you can
30:36attest like one of my favorite bible verses it's a proverb about training your child up in the way
30:40that they should go so that when they're old they won't depart from it it's like you and i were
30:43both
30:43raised in the church and while we may have had seasons where we just completely you know walked
30:48away from our faith or weren't pursuing god trying to do our own thing ultimately i can say for yourself
30:52and for me it's like we came back to the lord and i attest that to being trained up in
30:55the way that i should go
30:56even if it wasn't always authentic or i didn't know what i was doing and uh you know being able
31:01to get these these toys in the hands of kids to where it's like they'll learn real biblical truth
31:06at such a young age is is so important it's so much deeper than just like oh this is a
31:10cool lego
31:10set it's like no this is this is actually preaching the word of god like the written word
31:14of god is being made into something that is tangible and that people can can really experience and so
31:20uh i just think it's so important uh what you're doing is is a ministry more than anything that
31:25does get me it had me thinking though i wanted to ask you this i almost forgot what i've seen
31:29in
31:29the christian space is people think there's a group of people who think that because it is christian
31:34it should be free like it's some requirement have you experienced that i have experienced that i think
31:42yeah man it's like and i've had people accuse us like oh like you're turning you know the word of
31:50god for a prophet and like you're just gonna come in and flip the tables you know all of those
31:55things
31:55right and yeah it's it's a it's an interesting discussion for sure for me i see business as
32:03mission um when i was in ministry i so in this business i reached more families and been a blessing
32:09to more people through this business than i have ever been just doing individual ministry
32:15ministry and in ministry you always have to ask for money or donations or this and that
32:20to keep doing your thing and it's usually not done the most effectively in some circles yeah and
32:27um there's an obvious limit to all of that but if we're doing business as mission i really think
32:32there's huge potential for us to have a really big kingdom impact this way and you know i believe you
32:39you know god is love and you know for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten
32:44son
32:45and the emphasis there is on giving his son giving something valuable of the most value to us and you
32:54know that's how god created the world everything is supposed to operate through this cycle of giving
32:58right trees give us fruit and we eat the fruit and we dispose the waste back into the earth to
33:05be
33:05composted and the fruit gives the nutrients back into the ground and the ground gives the nutrients
33:10back to the tree um it's a cycle of giving you know the clouds give water to the earth the
33:16earth gives
33:17the water to streams which gives it to bodies of water which gives it back to the clouds and that's
33:23how
33:23all life flourishes is by living by this law of other-centered giving and that's how economies work
33:30right yeah we give our time to companies and they make products and they give the products to people
33:38and the people give money back in return and the company gives the employees money and so it's a cycle
33:44of giving and there always has to be this mutually beneficial place of giving and that's really what
33:51we're trying to do and so we could make our stuff significantly cheaper uh but the quality would
33:59be worse i don't think it would glorify god as much i think people would have their experience
34:04wouldn't be as much of a blessing as it is now we want to be able to afford our employees
34:09uh and pay
34:11them fair wages and so they can bless their families and we wouldn't be able to reinvest that into
34:18product development for other things that we want to build for the kingdom and we have a ton of
34:23different projects that we're really excited about uh we want to do more animated content to uh share
34:29these stories in a really fun way and just a lot of things but you know it it costs money
34:34for these so
34:36yeah that's that's kind of where i'm at with it and but yeah there is an unfortunate kind of culture
34:41of
34:42you know cheapness almost in some christian circles yeah like oh everything christian should be
34:48free but i mean i think you know fellow christian business owners we should all be supporting each
34:53other and you know we could really do some amazing things you hear about you know jewish communities in
34:59america very often they will all work together and they're able to bless each other and uphold each
35:05other's businesses by working together and you see that in not only jewish but you know african-american
35:11communities and asian-american communities uh not so much the christian communities which is a real
35:17shame um i really think we could be able to bless each other significantly and expand our reach as a
35:23community if we're to work together in these economic ventures for the kingdom but yeah anyways i'll stop
35:30yapping about that no no it was so good i'll say one you articulated kind of the concept of you
35:37know
35:37why money is involved very well i think you're probably one of the first people i've heard
35:41take it from the approach of like it is a form of giving it's just giving in all these different
35:45ways so a transaction in itself isn't inherently bad it's just a form of two people giving each other
35:51something and i've always said that good business provides value which is why someone would even want
35:56to to pay for it you know if i'm just trying to sell you something that doesn't provide you any
36:01value but i just want your money it's like obviously that's not good business but i would argue on the
36:05other side of that if people always demand that something be free i think there's a selfish nature
36:08in that because you're not thinking about what your money is going to who it's supporting at the
36:12end of the day like you are paying employees that can then provide for their families you're providing
36:18for yourself and your families like we are called to work um you know the bible is very clear that
36:22we
36:22need to work to earn our wages and uh you know paul says if you don't want to work you
36:27shouldn't even
36:27eat and so you know we have to work we have to make money um it's a part of life
36:33um obviously there's
36:34unethical ways to do that and there are ethical ways to do that and i think when christians are
36:39ethical whether they're in the secular business place or they're in a christian business place
36:43it doesn't matter they deserve to earn a fair wage uh laborers deserve to get their you know their fruit
36:48so um yeah man it's it's so good and refreshing i think the conversation needs to continue to to be
36:55had
36:55and so again like this is a ministry of what you're doing in the business place and the more that
36:59christians
36:59start to dominate and be excellent in the marketplace the more will actually bring people to christ as
37:04well who are inevitably going to be in that marketplace so it's so important and uh again
37:10christians like you said need to come together to help build each other up in this market in the
37:14christian marketplace uh so we can really start to move the kingdom forward um it's just it's so
37:19important so man i i love what you're doing again and and you you really did articulate that extremely
37:24well um i think the last thing i'll probably ask you is well we could i'll say this if there's
37:34anything specific that you just want to address or talk about when it comes to you know bible bricks
37:40or what you would want to leave people with as a final message you know whether it's about
37:44entrepreneurship you know following christ just in general or you know like i said bible bricks and
37:50your mission there um what would that be oh man that's a lot that's a big net um i mean
37:57the mission
37:57of bible bricks is that god loves you and more than that god likes you as a human and he
38:03wants to be with
38:04you uh that's that's the big emphasis we have for the tabernacle set the main verses it says you know
38:12god says let them make me a sanctuary that i may dwell among them and that's showing the heart of
38:18god right
38:18there god wants to be with you and he loves you unconditionally and that's kind of the central
38:24pillar of bible bricks that's our our message we want to get across to people and um yeah that's
38:31what we're trying to build and you know if people have thoughts and ideas for how we can get that
38:38mission across more successfully how we can uh incorporate new builds and new ideas and be a blessing to
38:44people we'd love to hear them and yeah if there's anyone out there that has a business idea that
38:51can be a blessing to other people and positively impact their lives like we're talking about even
38:56the practical things clothing the naked feeding the hungry you know giving water to the thirsty visiting
39:02those that are sick and dying and in prison right if you have any idea an inkling of a thought
39:10that this business would really provide genuine value for others in a way that is a blessing to
39:16them practically i think you should go for it i think that's god's will that you know his will be
39:22done
39:22on earth as it is in heaven and that's what god wants you know like we're talking about in the
39:27beginning
39:28going back to my testimony someone blessing me with food and clothes and shelter and that's what businesses
39:35can do too they can provide good value good food to help nourish people and all of these things and
39:42you know christ said in as much as you do it to the least of these you're doing it to
39:47me so yep if god
39:49has put an idea in your heart and your mind to do something like that i highly encourage you to
39:54pray
39:54about it and seek after it um doesn't mean it's going to be easy it's not going to be easy
39:59starting
40:00business and entrepreneurship is not easy um but with god all things are possible come on
40:06man i love it you're preaching over here so such a good message and uh just thank you again for
