00:00Wow, this is going to be interesting. Shayla Perez, who does Christian apologetics,
00:05asks women if they believe that women receive the same amount of dignity as men do based on what
00:11Islam teaches. And this is an important question. You know, I heard recently someone proposed the
00:16question of if men get all of these virgins in heaven, what do the women get? It's actually
00:22something I'd never thought about before. What do the women get? What is their benefit? It seems
00:27like only the men receive a real benefit. It actually appears that there is some doctrine
00:31within Islam that states that most women will actually be in hell and that women will have to
00:35come from hell to heaven to please the men who are supposed to get the virgins because there's
00:40literally not enough women in heaven for all the men. So what, again, do women get? What is their
00:46benefit of being a Muslim and serving Allah? And I think there's more examples of what Islam and
00:51the Quran teach that demean women and their value. And so shout out to Shayla Perez for asking this
00:56question and not being afraid to stand on the truth that Christianity does view us all as equal
01:00made in the image of God and actually talking to these ladies and seeing if they could really say
01:05that Islam does consider them as valuable as it does the men. So let's watch it. But before we do,
01:11make sure you hit that subscribe button if you like Christian content. All right, let's see what
01:15happens here. My prompt is that Christianity gives women more dignity than Islam. Hi, ladies. I'm
01:26my name is Sakina. Well, today I wanted to talk about this prompt with you ladies because there's
01:30something so specific and beautiful about Christianity in that we have a doctrine called
01:34Imago Dei, which means that everyone is made in God's image if you are human, whether you are man
01:39or woman, no matter the color of your skin or your culture, we all have equal value and dignity
01:44because we've been created in the image of God. And so I believe that Christianity gives this dignity
01:50to people more than other religions teach. And in Islam, I don't see this dignity given
01:54specifically to women. We're in a room full of women. So I wanted to address that,
01:58that there's not this idea that we are made in the image of God within Islam.
02:02I want to ask you guys that. I don't want to put words in your mouth. Do you believe that
02:05men,
02:05men and women are equal in value within Islam?
02:10So when we look around this room at all of these women, beautiful women on both sides,
02:13when you look at us Muslim women in particular, do we lack dignity?
02:17No, no, no. You didn't answer the question.
02:19No, I'm asking. I'm saying that you don't see.
02:21Immediately, immediately avoids the question and puts it back on her.
02:24And shout out to Shayla for literally calling that out, you know, and it's just crazy.
02:29Immediately, the question is attempted to be avoided and dodged immediately.
02:35I see that. And I'm responding to it. You do not see. When I look at Muslim women,
02:39I don't see dignity. There's a lack of dignity. Do we lack dignity as Muslim women?
02:45Under Christianity, no one is lacking dignity if you're made in the image of God.
02:48No, no. I'm asking what you see in us.
02:50Yes. So I know, but right now you're going off of asking me a question about what do I see?
02:54I think you're all beautiful women made in the image of God.
02:56I'm asking what does Islam teach? Does Islam teach that men and women are equal in dignity and value?
03:01Men and women are equal in faith before God, meaning that whatever good you do,
03:06you'll be rewarded equal to a man. Whatever bad you do, you'll be rewarded equal to a man.
03:11Whatever effort you put out, you're equal in the sight of God. The distinctions in how women are treated in
03:19Islam
03:19are actually as a form of elevation and to show our worth. The reason why we are covered is to
03:26protect our beauty
03:27and to maintain society, maintain marriages, to maintain households, that your beauty is for your husband and for your family.
03:34Sure. But the question was, are men and women equal in value according to Islam?
03:38Of course. Yes.
03:39Okay, great. That's what I want. And do you ladies agree as well? Men and women are equal in value.
03:42Great.
03:42That's amazing. I would agree that men and women are equal in value because of what Christianity teaches.
03:46In Genesis, in the very beginning of the creation account, it says that he made mankind in his image,
03:50and mankind is the word for human, so humankind, including men and women.
03:54And then also it says specifically, male and female were given authority and dominion over creation.
04:00So, do you believe men and women have authority over creation in Islam?
04:04Yes.
04:05Okay, great, great. That's where I'm going to push now, where I don't see that when I studied the Quran
04:10and the Hadith.
04:11Because according to some of your Hadith, and excuse me, I don't speak Arabic, so Sunan Abin Majah, 1918,
04:17it says when a man gets a wife, it says that he is supposed to take her by the forelock,
04:21along with when he's given also an animal or when he's given a servant, and he's supposed to pray this
04:25blessing over her.
04:26And I would say that's a little concerning to me, because in Genesis, we see that men and women are
04:29given equal authority over creation.
04:32But according to this Hadith, which is Sahih, it's saying that women are seen now in the same category as
04:38proper.
04:39So real quick, she says that this Hadith is Sahih.
04:41For those who don't know, that means that is an authentic or genuine Hadith.
04:45It's reliable.
04:45This is a Hadith that they would trust, and Hadiths are more reportings or sayings from Muhammad.
04:51And so there are tons of Hadiths.
04:53Some of them are considered not to be authentic.
04:55Some of them are considered to be authentic, and those are carried as a form of authority in the same
05:02way the Quran would be if they are authentic.
05:04Now, obviously, there's different sects of Islam, then, that some consider some authentic, some consider some not.
05:09Similar to Christianity, you know, the Ethiopian Bible has more books than the Catholic Bible, which has more books than
05:14the Protestant Bible.
05:15So here she's saying this Hadith is considered to be an authentic Hadith, where she's getting this from,
05:19not from some of these other Hadiths that may not be as authentic.
05:22While I have you here, I created an app that blocks your distracting apps until you read your Bible.
05:26It's called First Light Bible in Prayer.
05:27You start with a prayer, and then you read the Bible.
05:29When you're finished reading the Bible, then you check off which book and chapter that you've read,
05:32so you can track reading through the entire Bible.
05:35And then it unlocks your app.
05:36So you actually put God first every day instead of getting stuck scrolling or sucked into messages or emails or
05:41whatever it is.
05:42You block those things, put the Lord first, and then you can unlock them.
05:45This has helped me for over four months.
05:47If you think that it can help you too, click the link in the pink comment below or scan the
05:50QR code.
05:51Property of animals and servants.
05:52So I think it's a beautiful Hadith.
05:55Because if you think about the union between a man and a wife, he's not equating her to an animal.
06:00But you have to understand the importance of what are the animals?
06:03What do they symbolize?
06:04They symbolize your wealth and your property.
06:07That's your livelihood.
06:07And you want to protect your livelihood from attack, from evil eye, if you believe in that, from envy.
06:15And now you have this wife.
06:16You enter into a marriage.
06:17And I think if you understand what that is, it's not seizing her by a ponytail and putting her in
06:23a submissive position.
06:24It's the forelock is the forehead.
06:26That you're preying on someone.
06:28And you're not preying on this person because they're less than you or because they have original sin and they're
06:32inherently evil and you need to force the evil out of them.
06:34It's a blessing.
06:35It's a prayer.
06:36My concern though, ladies, is that once again, in Genesis, men and women are both given authority and dominion over
06:43the animals, over creation.
06:45And it's on the man, he has this authority over the woman.
06:47And she's put and lumped into the same category as the animal.
06:50And on my marriage day, I didn't say the same blessing over.
06:53Yeah, I think for her to say that it isn't putting it in the same category as an animal, but
06:57it's like some special blessing because of like, it's your property and your livelihood.
07:01That's also putting it in the same category.
07:03In her explanation, she literally put it in the same category because the Hadith puts it in the same category.
07:07There's no way to separate it from that because he does it the same way that he does it with
07:11the animals.
07:12Like the husband prays and blesses the woman in the same way that he would with the animals.
07:15So it's literally in the same category.
07:18So you can elevate the animals up, but then that means you would still be in the same place as
07:22the animals and the man is still over this thing.
07:25And to Shayla's point, Genesis is saying, no, men and women both have authority over the animals.
07:29We're not on the same level as the animals.
07:32So the mental gymnastics is crazy to try and continue to justify your position within Islam when it's not true.
07:39The dignity is not the same.
07:41For my husband, my husband would say the same blessing to me that I would when I got my new
07:44dog.
07:45But in this Hadith, he's supposed to say the same blessing.
07:47He calls out, oh, Allah, and he speaks his blessing over her.
07:49We have the same concepts culturally and socially.
07:51That's concerning that he's supposed to celebrate the animal and the servant the same way that he celebrates a new
07:54wife.
07:55Well, culturally, when we remove modern cultural ideas and societal ideas,
08:01men are over women in a sense that we expect, so like in dating, you expect a man to pursue.
08:07You expect the man to get flowers.
08:09I agree, men and women are different.
08:09We can't read it.
08:10Men and women are different.
08:10So now things become flipper.
08:11It's like men are like, well, I want flowers.
08:13Why hasn't she brought me flowers?
08:14Nobody says, well, why should a man have to do that?
08:16Why does he have that position?
08:18It's not about degrading one.
08:19It's that God created men as protectors and maintainers over women.
08:22I want you to hear my heart.
08:23I actually do believe men and women are not the same.
08:25Yeah, different roles do not mean that the authority is different over the animals.
08:32I think, I don't know, there's like some weird, it's just mental gymnastics to avoid
08:35approaching this from a non-biased way and seeing what the truth is.
08:40Men can be pregnant.
08:41I don't think that men and women are made distinct, right?
08:44That's not what I'm arguing for.
08:45I'm talking about equality and value.
08:47Where in the Quran or the Hadith does it say that men and women are equal in value?
08:51Am I missing something here?
08:52I don't think there is anything that says that.
08:54We create you of the same soul.
08:56That is, show you how the men and the women have the same value and the same dignity in
09:03terms that God creates us from one soul, both of us.
09:07So do you believe women are inferior in any way to men?
09:10Inferior.
09:10I think only the thing I would say is that the sermon that the prophet told, like his
09:15last sermon, was the only thing that makes you better than another person is by your
09:18good deeds and your piety.
09:19So it didn't mention gender, it didn't mention race.
09:21It actually said there's no superiority over an Arab versus a non-Arab, a black man versus
09:26a white man.
09:27So that would be the only thing I would say that would make someone better.
09:30And I'm not the one to tell you if you're better than me or I'm better than you.
09:33That's for the one judge or the judge.
09:35Yeah.
09:35So in Islam, are women inferior?
09:38Not, I agree, they're different.
09:39But are they inferior in any way?
09:41How do you define inferior?
09:42Less than.
09:43So for less than.
09:44No.
09:44Okay, that disagrees with what your prophet said.
09:47Your prophet said that women are inferior in religion and the mind.
09:50No, that's not true.
09:51That's not true.
09:51Wait, wait, let me just please.
09:53I would like, I'll quote it for you because I want the audience to be able to look this
09:55up for themselves.
09:56In Sahih al-Bakari, Sahih 304, it says that he had a vision and he saw that the majority
10:02of the people in hell were women.
10:04And they asked, why are the majority of people in hell women?
10:07And he said, because they're ungrateful to their husbands, which is interesting.
10:09They're not ungrateful to Allah, they're ungrateful to their husbands.
10:11And then he said, well, why is this?
10:13And he said, because they're inferior in religion and in the mind.
10:17And this is also in the Quran, because in the Quran, when they ask, what does it mean
10:20to be inferior in religion for women?
10:22It says, well, because they can't pray and fast on their menstrual cycle.
10:25So it seems like your prophet's disagreeing with you, that women are less than in religion
10:30and also in the mind.
10:31If that said that most men would be in the hellfires, would that mean that men are inferior?
10:36Would you come to the conclusion that men are inferior because it says most men would
10:40be in the hellfires?
10:41No, that's why I quoted everything that happens there.
10:43No, I'm just asking.
10:44It's not just about who's majority in hell, it's about why he said they're in hell.
10:47Why?
10:48They're ungrateful to their husbands, and they asked why, what's going on here?
10:51And he elaborates, and he said they're inferior in the mind, and they're inferior in religion.
10:56So it's not that fact that, oh, I'm just offended that majority of women are in hell.
10:59It's that reason why he's giving that they're in hell.
11:02So I can explain the inferiority in religion.
11:04And again, when things are translated, we have to understand the context and the meaning.
11:09When I'm on my menstrual cycle, I don't pray.
11:11Women don't pray when they're on their menstrual cycle.
11:13So what that means is that a male, a Muslim male, is in a position of authority over a
11:18woman because they're the leaders of the family.
11:20They will lead the prayer.
11:21So if I'm at a point where I'm like, I can't lead because I'm not praying, then that makes
11:25me unable to fulfill a certain role, whereas men are consistently able to fulfill that role.
11:29Women are childbearers.
11:31We are the maintainers of our home.
11:34So because of that, based on that, and based on our needs and the way that God created
11:38us, it's literally acknowledging our creation.
11:40And yes, we can inject, you know, social, cultural, you know, norms and ways that these
11:44have changed.
11:45I don't want to do that.
11:45I only want to stick to your text.
11:46I'm not trying to.
11:46I'm based on text.
11:47Based on text.
11:48We have to understand our nature and accept the nature in which God created us and those
11:53differences.
11:54So we are supposed to accept in your religion, if I were to convert to be a Muslim, I would
11:58have to accept that Allah has made me inferior in the mind and in religion.
12:02He's not.
12:02He's not.
12:04God, he gave mercy to the women in the time of the pregnancy and the period time.
12:11And she cannot fast.
12:12She cannot.
12:13Because the movement, you know, when you are in your period and you bleed and might cause
12:17more.
12:18Sure.
12:18You explained it to the period.
12:19Yeah.
12:20But once again, you haven't addressed the inferior in the mind, one.
12:23And I would like to hear from that from other ladies.
12:25So that word that she used, inferior, is that the word that it says?
12:27Yeah.
12:28Is that the word?
12:28I don't speak Arabic.
12:29So I'm doing my very best to go on to these.
12:32So again, again, if any of you ladies know the actual Arabic, because a lot of times there
12:37will be different meaning for words.
12:38You will choose which one fits your narrative that you want.
12:41So I, so I, so because I care.
12:43That's a valid question.
12:44It's a valid question because people do that to Christianity all the time.
12:46But from my understanding, that is a very accurate translation that she's using.
12:49And Shala obviously doesn't have ill intent to try and twist for her narrative.
12:53She's trying to approach it honestly, because when you do approach these honestly, you get
12:56to the bottom of it, you get to the truth.
12:58And Jesus even said, the truth will set you free because ultimately he is the truth.
13:03Very much to not strongman your position.
13:05I did look into your scholarship on what they're saying on this.
13:07Please do.
13:07And they are agreeing that this means that they're inferior in religion because women
13:10are on their menstrual cycles and inferior in their mind because their testimony, he even
13:13says that their testimony is half of that of a man in court.
13:15He says this even in the Quran.
13:17He says two women for one man.
13:18Yes, exactly.
13:19So when they say, what does it mean by inferior in the mind?
13:20He refers to another portion where he said, yeah, don't you remember that two women are
13:24worth the testimony of one man?
13:26That is just in financial testimony.
13:29Yes.
13:29Okay.
13:29Okay.
13:30I'm aware that when he's referring to that, he's referring to financial testimony.
13:33But in the normal testimony, we need only one woman.
13:35But once again, let's look at the context here.
13:36What is he talking about?
13:37He's talking about hellfire, ladies.
13:39So you're telling me that according to Allah, women are more likely to be thrown into hellfire
13:44because of the way that Allah made them where they can't pray or fast on their period
13:48or they can't, you know, or they're less than on finances?
13:52Like, let's look at the context of what it's saying here.
13:54Is this really what we believe?
13:55Come on.
13:55Because I don't.
13:56And I don't want you ladies to believe that either.
13:58That was such a good, like, bring it back to what we're talking about here.
14:03Like Shayla did such a good job of bringing it back to the full context of like, they're
14:07trying to focus in on all these points.
14:09Have you ever tried to confront somebody on something?
14:11And whenever you're trying to get to the point of what they're doing, it's like, hey,
14:14you're causing a problem in this area.
14:15They start focusing on all these other minor extra details that don't actually address the
14:20problem.
14:20And so anytime anything else is mentioned, like here that she's saying, hey, because of your
14:24period, it means that you're inferior.
14:25And then they start explaining like what the period is and all this stuff.
14:28And it's like, okay, great.
14:29We know that.
14:30But the point is, is that you're inferior is what the text says.
14:34And you just said that you're not inferior.
14:37So which one is it?
14:38And so they keep focusing on all these alternative points.
14:42And so Shayla is doing a good job bringing it back to saying, hey, the text says you're
14:45most likely going to end up in hell because you were inferior, because you were made for
14:48having a period, because your testimony is only worth half of that of a man's.
14:52So it'll be interesting to see what they say to this.
14:54So we don't believe that because moreover, overarching, Islam came to elevate women and
15:00gave us rights that we didn't have pre-Islam, that even in the in the Western world, that
15:05women up until recently couldn't vote, were seen as not fully human education, you know,
15:11exactly educational rights.
15:12And so at a time in pre-Islam in Arabia at the time, baby girls were buried when families
15:17would give birth to a daughter instead of a son, and they didn't deem daughters of any
15:20value and say they'd bury them alive.
15:22And that's actually mentioned in the Quran, that the female child, the female fetus will
15:26be resurrected and say, for what sin was I killed?
15:28Or the fact that inheritance rights were laid out.
15:31Divorce rights are very clearly laid out.
15:33That, you know, just the protection of women, that Islam came to elevate the status of women.
15:37There's an entire chapter on women, the importance of maintaining and providing and protecting
15:43women.
15:43I could do the same thing.
15:45I could talk about everything that Christianity has done for women.
15:47I'm very well sure.
15:48You should.
15:48Yes, I could talk about that as well.
15:50But in the Bible, not from, not from.
15:52My critical text that I want to focus on is that we're made in the image of God so
15:56we're equal in value.
15:57And you're saying, well, look at all these great things that Islam has done for women.
16:00And you're using that as a definition for dignity, right?
16:03There's more things.
16:04There's more things for dignity than what you're saying, the image of God.
16:06I'm actually trying, in a way, to be respectful to you ladies by not looking at all of the
16:11stuff that's going on in culture.
16:12No, no, no.
16:13Let's just talk about the Bible in it.
16:13And just focusing on the text.
16:15Right.
16:16So, I never really, I don't want to let this go.
16:19You said that's not what it's saying.
16:19That's not what it's saying.
16:20No, no.
16:20What am I missing here?
16:22Because it seems like, to me, it's saying that Allah is throwing women into hellfire
16:25because of the way that he created them, which is deficient in the mind and deficient
16:28in religion.
16:28What is it saying that I'm missing?
16:30Please don't talk about what's going on through history and how, like, women have gotten some
16:32rights because of Islam.
16:33Please don't talk about what the Bible says.
16:35That's not cultural.
16:37The rights that were given to women were in the Quran.
16:40What is this saying here?
16:41Now, let me ask some indignity.
16:42You're saying that, you know, in the Bible, that the whole image of God, we don't believe
16:46that anyways.
16:47The whole idea of the image of God, it kind of does something, right?
16:49Yeah.
16:50Where do you find in the Bible that you, Christianity, has rights within the Bible that Muslims
16:56don't, Muslim women don't have in the Quran?
16:58Tell me some rights that were explicitly stated.
17:00I already said that Genesis is saying that men and women are both made in the likeness of God
17:04and they were both given authority over creation, right?
17:07There is nothing here on earth that women are lacking.
17:13So why in Christianity were women not allowed to divorce their husbands?
17:16There's nothing that women are not allowed to do when it comes to being able to have relationship
17:22with God, right, here on earth or in the next life that Christianity prevents them from.
17:27But even in Islam, in the next life, you guys are not given nearly as many promises,
17:31not only in Hellfire, but even in paradise.
17:32We're talking about practical rights.
17:33In paradise.
17:33That's not ideas.
17:34We're talking about actual practical rights.
17:35In paradise, what are men promised within the Quran and within the Hadith?
17:38What are men promised in paradise?
17:40Are we going to talk about 70 versions?
17:44I just feel like this doesn't really go to the racial prompts.
17:47You will know everything about what you promised.
17:49I'll tell you why it goes to the prompt.
17:51Do you want to know the rights that are Allah?
17:52Let me tell you what this should have said.
17:55I actually didn't speak that much.
17:57I thought we were going to talk about dignity.
17:59And I love that you find dignity in your religion.
18:01I would never try to disrespect Christianity or downplay the dignity that you found.
18:06I find that to be beautiful.
18:07You have your religion and I have mine.
18:09That's what we're taught in Islam.
18:10We're not to try to force you to be in our religion or to believe.
18:14What?
18:16It's literally spread by the sword, but I digress.
18:20What we believe.
18:21So when I talk about dignity in Islam, I would never say I get more dignity than you.
18:26You found dignity in your peace and your religion.
18:28In my religion, it tells us to go first to the Quran.
18:32That's why she was mentioning we have certain rights and elevations within the actual text,
18:36not narrations.
18:37We do have things in narration, too, but you decided to focus on one narration.
18:41You didn't tell us about how Allah said that paradise is at the feet of your mother.
18:45You didn't tell us about how when the prophet was asked, who should you respect?
18:49And he said the mother three or four times.
18:51Three times.
18:51And then your father.
18:52So I never said that there's never been any nice thing mentioned about women.
18:57My point is, how does it give women dignity here on earth if men are higher in religion?
19:04It's higher to you because we have different understandings.
19:09Okay, but in this life and in this life and in the next life, women aren't given the same
19:15dignity because they're not given the same value.
19:17In the next life, I would like to hear.
19:19How do you know about your next life?
19:20Well, because I can just read what the Bible says.
19:22How do you know that you will be having the same value and same thing in the next life?
19:25I have a feeling you ladies don't want me to talk about paradise because you know that
19:28women are not promised anything in paradise, but men are promised a lot.
19:30We'll tell you that in Surat Rahman, go to Surat Rahman, you will find everything.
19:33So I'm going to ask one more time.
19:34But it's getting crazy because these women refuse to really answer the question.
19:39Now, I agree they can bring up some good points about other things that the Quran or Hadith
19:42say about women that are positive things, but they still have refused to actually answer
19:48the questions, right?
19:49They have continued to skirt around it, play mental gymnastics, and they've refused to
19:54answer it.
19:55And they're trying to put things back on her about the Bible and whatnot, but they're not
19:57answering the question, right?
19:59If someone were to ask me something about the Bible and instead of answering it, I just ask
20:02them, well, what about your Quran saying this?
20:03It's like, well, I never actually gave them an answer.
20:05I'm just deflecting at this point.
20:06This is getting out of hand, but I love that Shayla is just honed in.
20:09She's doubling, tripling down and saying, look, you guys aren't actually answering this
20:12question.
20:13You're just avoiding it.
20:14And you're not providing good evidence that these verses don't reduce women to something
20:20less.
20:20I'm going to ask one more time so that the audience can hear it.
20:23What are women promised in paradise?
20:25Can you tell me?
20:26Remember the Surat, Surat Rahman.
20:28Remember it.
20:28Go there.
20:29You will find everything about what God promised.
20:32Women and men.
20:33Can you tell me?
20:33Can you tell the audience?
20:34It's a whole Surat.
20:36I can't say it.
20:36Can you name one thing that women are specifically promised in paradise?
20:39Paradise.
20:40No, that's not true.
20:41It's the same as men.
20:42That's not true.
20:43No.
20:43Men are promised perpetual virgins.
20:46There is nothing called 72 virgins in the Islam.
20:50I'm just going to tell the audience because they're telling me that I'm, I don't know,
20:53taking something out of context so you can look it up for yourself.
20:55Quran 55 and in Quran 56 and in Sahih Muslim 2834, these are all Sahih, all right?
21:00Verified.
21:00I'm not taking anything out of context.
21:01Men are promised virgins, right?
21:03And he even says that a woman, she is not, nothing that is necessarily given to a woman.
21:08And some of the scholars will try to say, well, Allah knows everything that a woman wants
21:11so he'll give it to her.
21:11But it's not listed what she's going to get specifically.
21:14So that's a concern for me as well, that men are given specific promises within paradise.
21:18Women, whatever they want, then a woman says, I want 72 male lovers.
21:21That's what I'm saying.
21:22It's not there, though.
21:22It's not mentioned.
21:23It's silent on what women get.
21:24That's my point.
21:26When I talk about the believers, the momineen, the good people, the salihin,
21:31he didn't have to say, oh, the salihin.
21:33And he say always other verses.
21:36He say, the momineen, the momineen, the salihin, the salihin, the salihin, the muttaqiyat.
21:41He specifically say for believers, which is men and women,
21:45this is the word, which is in English, you cannot say men and women.
21:49It always speaks to one person.
21:53So this is, when you read that story that I told you,
21:56you will understand exactly what it means,
21:58what's given to a man will be given to a woman.
22:00So what she's saying, that word is plural, that encompasses men and women.
22:03It's like one word.
22:04We don't have like a they like that in English.
22:06No, I think it's the opposite.
22:07In English, we say mankind, right?
22:10And that's supposed to include women as well.
22:11We don't say mankind and womankind.
22:13We just say mankind.
22:13And it's understood that that includes women.
22:15But in the Quran, God is very specific to set apart and say,
22:19and men who do this, and the women who do this,
22:21and the men who fast, and the women who fast,
22:23and the men who give charity, and the women who give charity.
22:25And it goes all the way.
22:26And it's a very long list of attributes attributed both to male and female believers.
22:32So I think that when you take the overall ayat versus proofs from the Quran versus this one hadith,
22:41which, again, even for us Muslim women, you have to understand the context and the meaning.
22:46Because when you go back to the faith, and you go to all the things that Allah says about women,
22:50and how women have been given an elevated status,
22:52how in the Prophet's final farewell sermon, he said,
22:55the thing I fear most for my ummah are women.
22:59Fear Allah regarding your women, because I, the best of you are those who are best to your wives,
23:04and I am the best to my wives.
23:05There was a repeated distinction, but I know that everyone loves these, like,
23:08but what about this?
23:10Whereas in Christianity, there are similar issues regarding women,
23:14where women did not have equal status to men,
23:16where women were not allowed the same things that men had.
23:19Christianity, that what is taught within our faith,
23:22is that we're all given equal value and dignity against men,
23:25and women, we're all equal in value.
23:27And then, even when heaven is talked about,
23:29there's not any specific gender promise given to men over women.
23:33It's that we're all going to be with God, we're all going to be with our Lord and Savior,
23:35and he's going to prepare a place for us, that's what Jesus says.
23:38There's nothing gender specific,
23:39but there is gender specific when there's talk of hellfire.
23:42There is gender specific when it's talk of the way women are treated here on earth,
23:46gender specific in paradise.
23:48And it's never in an equal value type of way
23:51when it comes to women disparaged in hell, in paradise.
23:56So, yeah, I don't agree with you ladies on this one.
23:58I think that I want to just end and wrap it up by reading this.
24:01This is Jami At-Temidi, 1174, I don't speak Arabic, Timidi.
24:06It says,
24:06Do not annoy the man, because may Allah destroy you,
24:10or the Hori curses the living wife and claims her to be her husband.
24:14So, my problem here is that, because we ended talking about paradise,
24:18and I'll just end on this,
24:19is that even in paradise, it says that wives, if they annoy their husbands,
24:24that Allah is going to destroy them,
24:26and they're going to be cursed by the Hori,
24:28because the Hori is going to take their husbands for themselves.
24:32That's what it says.
24:33And that's all, ladies.
24:35I just want everyone to be treated with equal value and dignity,
24:37and I believe Christianity teaches that in this life and in the next.
24:41Now, I did a little digging in this.
24:43May Allah destroy you has two interpretations,
24:46and both are considered, I guess, acceptable,
24:48because one is saying it's literal,
24:50and the other is saying it's not literal.
24:51And when you look back, there is clear scholarly evidence
24:55that shows it could be literal or not literal,
24:57and you can read it either way.
24:59But besides all that, this is clearly something that, again,
25:01is targeted at the wives,
25:03and there's nothing at the men regarding this.
25:06So, it's quite interesting that there is this repeated theme,
25:09but Muslim women want to ignore it and justify it.
25:13So, I don't know.
25:14Like Shayla said, if there is something that we're missing,
25:17let us know, because it seems pretty obvious, pretty clear.
25:19Well, that is all I have for you.
25:21If you watched at the end, you're a legend.

25:24But until I see you on the next one, I love you, and God bless.
