00:21David, to begin, what is the significance of, especially, this edition of the BRICS Leaders Summit, taking into account the
00:28geopolitical context the world is currently experiencing and the so necessary, the so required transformations to the international system?
00:38Yeah, so 19 years after the colonial powers divided the world at the negotiating table, the countries representing the majority
00:50of humanity are sitting at their own table.
00:54So the 18th summit consolidates BRICS as the actor of a multipolar order where institutions, where one institution like the
01:09new bank development with $100 billion of authorized capital financing the South without IMF conditionality.
01:22This is very important. This is very important. It means that the BRICS, in general, this is not a club.
01:29This is the counterweight against the Western interests as well.
01:35David, BRICS has been described in numerous occasions as the alternative for a multipolar world. So what does that look
01:43like? What does it represent and what can it bring? How can we see that BRICS transforming into this multipolar
01:49world that is emerging?
01:52So this is a very interesting question because here in the BRICS, we have the South regions, the most powerful
02:01and hopes of the countries of the South united against the colonization of the Western countries.
02:09Inside the BRICS, for sure, we have some countries, we have differences, but these differences can be discussed in the
02:20middle and in the ways of the diplomacy without the import of the Western imperialism like Washington and Brussels.
02:28So this meeting is very important because in the geopolitical context we have right now, it shows that we have
02:39other alternatives.
02:41At the same time, we have the Western situation, the Western countries, the system who is actually available on the
02:49international order with the climate.
02:51So in this sense, this meeting in India is very, very important and will define as well many other things,
03:00for example, the genocide in Gaza, for example, the crisis, the war from the United States and Israel against Iran
03:09and many other issues will be discussed, for sure, in the interest of the countries of the South.
03:18David, also, you were saying, you're making reference to the agressions on Gaza and Iran by the U.S. and
03:24Israel.
03:25Another form of aggression against several global South countries is the unilateral sanctions that Western nations impose on them.
03:32Can a stronger BRICS help create platforms, create mechanisms to provide solutions, to provide ways to circumvent those sanctions and
03:40help emerging countries develop?
03:44Yeah, for sure, I think, for example, for Latin America and the Caribbean, it means, for example, that right now
03:55Cuba is sitting at the table while Washington keeps its criminal blockades.
04:01And it means, for example, and it means that, for example, countries like Bolivia or Venezuela finding platforms that don't
04:08ask permission to the State Department to do or not do something.
04:14The Caribbean, this is just an example, finally has a development bank that does not literate about good governance.
04:24For Latin America, in this sense, BRICS is annexed from five centuries of banks, homes, black yards.
04:37This is an alternative of the colonialism for Latin America.
04:41And it will be the same for the rest of the world.
04:44The BRICS represents an alternative for the countries of the South, who has, in general, not to request permission to
04:53Washington, to Bruxelles, or any other bigger city in the western side to know what they can do.
05:02So BRICS is the ideal space right now to regulate, with all the tools and mechanisms they can have, to
05:10regulate all the differences they can have between India and China, between, I don't know, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
05:20This is very interesting.
05:22And I think we have to support it.
05:24Nobody, so this is not just a joke, as I mentioned before, nobody will put so many millions of dollars
05:32on the table just to make a party.
05:35The BRICS is something serious.
05:36The BRICS is something who is growing up.
05:38It comes from the South and nobody will stop it.
05:41Less when we have the system of the western countries who are in declining today.
05:46David, very quickly to conclude, what should be watched for at the conclusion of this BRICS summit,
05:52as you were saying, that demonstrate that BRICS is growing and is getting stronger and is moving far beyond just,
05:58let's say, talk the talk, that it can walk the walk.

06:09What should we watch for in, let's say, in the final declaration of this BRICS summit?
06:15What should we see, what the outcomes of this summit that evidence, what you were saying, that BRICS is growing
06:21stronger and stronger and is having a greater influence?
06:26So, I think that right now, BRICS will have a very strong influence on the situation we have today.
06:35And I think that for the United States, it's maybe not what they want.
06:41For sure, the BRICS has some limits.
06:45And to be honest, there is as well in the BRICS capitalist interest.
06:54There are tariff disputes, the project of a common currency or a full alternative financial architecture is still unfinished.
07:07But compared with the alternative permanent subordination to the IEMS, the World Bank, and the sanctions regime, this is another
07:17thing.
07:17And between an imperfect project of the South and the perfect machinery of domination, the peoples have already chosen.
07:28And in this sense, BRICS will be very, very important.
07:33And we have very, very interest, influence on the international order, who I think will not be stopped only by
07:44the wishes of the United States, by the wishes of BRICS, by the wishes of the corporations.
07:52And for sure, it will give the opportunity from the countries of the South to decolonize the structure of the
08:00world's power, of the international order, to maybe have a new order who can give much more hope to the
08:11population and respond less to the Western corporation,
08:15who put the world today in the middle of the war, genocide, and many other tragedies we are living today
08:21in the world.
