00:08game was enormous for the San Francisco 49ers. And man, they played like it.
00:14They absolutely annihilated a team that many people like Bill Plasky of the L.A. Times said was going to
00:22go undefeated. They were absolutely trashed last night against this San Francisco 49er team.
00:30The Niners have had such a bad offseason. The owner with his situation, the stuff with Kyle Shanahan, all that
00:39issues that they have had, they showed up and they played big.
00:44Kyle Shanahan and his guys wanted to make a statement, not only to the National Football League, but also to
00:52the Rams and also to the point of this.
00:55Hey, you think you're going to be the favorites to win the Super Bowl? Kyle Shanahan and his guys last
01:02night were ready to play.
01:04And you really got to turn your attention now to the travel times of what the Rams did.
01:09Was that really in the best interest and preparation for the Rams?
01:14And how they showed up the day before and thought they were just going to make it another game, another
01:20typical game?
01:21This was a divisional game. And this really falls at the feet of the head football coach, Sean McVay.

01:31Congratulations to the 49ers. They outplayed us in every facet. I didn't do nearly a good enough job.
01:37This is a humbling day for us. And this will define us only if we allow it to.
01:42And today was one of those days. And, you know, I always look inside out.
01:46I didn't do a good enough job getting us ready to go.
01:48There were some opportunities where maybe the game could have flipped, but they deserve the win.
01:52They were ready to go and we'll look at it.
01:54We'll see where we can improve and be better moving forward.
01:58Listen, I'll make this comment to you. I always say this about September.
02:02It's Liars Month. Pump the brakes on saying that the Rams are toast. They're not.
02:07How many times have we seen teams get out to a great start and end up fading and end up
02:13really going the other way?
02:14Listen, you don't want to put a performance like that on paper because, let's be candid here, that really just
02:20wasn't about travel.
02:21The 49ers outplayed them. They outphysicaled them. They outsmarted them.
02:26And most importantly, they clearly outcoached them.
02:29You're not going to throw dirt on the Rams. The Rams are just too talented.
02:32But their lack of preparation and maybe even reading their press clippings was a little bit maybe a come-to
02:40-Jesus moment for them.
02:41You know, sometimes this could be a defining moment, like Sean McVay just said.
02:46A defining moment in every season is one of the most important things you can have.
02:50It's a come-to-Jesus conversation.
02:52Now, on the other hand, if you're Kyle Shanahan, you have to be exceptionally happy with what you saw with
03:00your team and, most importantly, with your quarterback.
03:06Any of your injuries, stuff that's going to affect weak line outside of the overall roster, where he's essentially the
03:13only main guy that you lost?
03:14Yeah, I mean, you hope so.
03:16I mean, those are things that, you know, we've got to evaluate sooner than later.
03:19I mean, there's just guys that are going to be close, guys like Mikel.
03:22I mean, guys like Kittle who's taking a step back.
03:24We want to see how Bosa does in these practices and stuff.
03:26So, they're guys who are healthy and doing good, but are they ready to get back and play right away?
03:31And that's why, you know, we have these mandatory three days off right now.
03:35But when we get back, we have those two and a half days before we get on the plane.
03:38And those two and a half days, we'll see our practice schedule.
03:41We'll at least get two big ones in, maybe a possible third.
03:44But I'm really curious to how it goes those three days.
03:47No question about it.
03:48Brock Purdy has to be one of the most underrated players in all of National Football League.
03:53When it comes to the quarterback position, he was electric last night.
03:5725-34, 205, and he just spread that football all around the yard.
04:02And he was just absolutely awesome.
04:04You know, you can make the argument that Brock Purdy, in the last 25 years,
04:10is one of the greatest draft picks of all time.
04:12Here was a player that was the last player taken.
04:15This is Mr. Irrelevant.
04:17He's now a $53 million a year player.
04:20He's been to a Super Bowl, and he's now 31-16 as a starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.
04:28Seeing Kittle on the field was insane.
04:30Seeing Nick Boze back, boy, I'll tell you what.
04:33If you're San Francisco, that's a hell of a way to get your season started with a dominant performance like
04:39that.
