00:00All right, first of all, concerns about Drake Mays' performance.
00:05Do you agree that he has not, since the playoffs last year began,
00:08at least since the playoffs began last year, he's not played well?
00:11Well, I think the turnover thing is definitely something to keep your eye on
00:18because it did happen in college too.
00:22And, you know, I don't think these things happen in a vacuum.
00:25And so the easy thing to do, and this is something that I think is just sort of interesting
00:31about the schedule, right?
00:33Like, and we've all talked about the schedule and what a sort of effect that had on the team
00:38and Drake himself and his development, you know, and going 14-3 last year.
00:44And, you know, it does make me wonder.
00:47So you've got a new offensive coordinator last year in Josh McDaniels.
00:51You have no tape on not only Josh working with Drake, but Josh had never had a quarterback
00:56like that.
00:57So there's this sort of element of mystery in what they're going to do that existed at least
01:02early in the year last year.
01:05And it does make you wonder, is there a little bit of how many times, like, his back foot hit
01:16the ground and he was just letting it rip?
01:22And, you know, like early in the year, I think that that definitely existed early in
01:25the year where with a quarterback, when the play goes exactly the way that it was drawn
01:32up, that can create an illusion that the quarterback's a little bit further along than he actually
01:37is.
01:38I think you see that in college a lot.
01:41And I remember watching Justin Fields at Ohio State, and I think I'm guilty of falling
01:46into that trap with him, watching him at Ohio State, where when you get into a situation
01:51where the one team's got way more talent than the other, the quarterback can be made to look
01:57like he's more developed than he actually is at that point in time because the play is
02:02working out the way that they drew it up.
