00:00Yes, it is still my position to vote against the assisted suicide bill.
00:04I'm actually someone who agrees with the principle,
00:07but the way the bill has been put together, it's very badly done,
00:11and this is not how we should put in difficult legislation.
00:14I don't think that the NHS is ready for the safeguarding issues
00:18that would come about if we put this bill through,
00:20and so I will be voting against it.
00:23This is not how we should make law,
00:25and we absolutely should not be using the Parliament Act
00:28to ram through a private member's bill that has been badly drafted
00:32and which most people know is not fit for purpose.
