00:04Crude oil has crossed the $100 mark again and for India this is not just a number on the global
00:11market.
00:12It could eventually hit your petrol bill, diesel costs, LPG expenses and even the prices of everyday goods.
00:21Brent crude, the global benchmark, has climbed above $100 a barrel amid escalating tensions involving the US and Iran,
00:29and growing fears of disruptions to oil supplies.
00:33So why does this matter to India? Because India imports more than 88% of its crude oil requirements.
00:41When international oil becomes more expensive, India has to spend more dollars to buy the same amount of crude.
00:48And there is another problem. The rupee has also weakened, recently moving beyond 95 rupees against the US dollar.
00:56So India faces a double pressure, more expensive oil and a weaker rupee.
01:01But here's the interesting part.
01:04Petrol and diesel prices have not immediately jumped at the pumps.
01:08Retail prices have remained largely unchanged, even as crude has surged.
01:13That means oil marketing companies are currently absorbing part of the shock.
01:17Reports suggest they are losing around 5 rupees per litre on petrol and 23 rupees on diesel at current crude
01:23prices.
01:24But if crude stays above $100 for a prolonged period, pressure could build.
01:29There is more companies in the power of liquid.
01:29If Bitcoin even is earning a share of $100 for a prolonged period, price could build.
01:32There's a huge amount of idag of that must be applicable,
01:33The world will be ordered for 54 rupees per year.
01:33The world will be the most effective.
