00:00I saw this yesterday.
00:01Really bummed me out.
00:02Really bummed me out.
00:04So, Panthers are starting up soon.
00:06Next week's Media Day.
00:07We'll be out there at Media Day next Wednesday at the Iceplex in Fort Lauderdale.
00:13And, you know, it's going to be tough because, you know, Bob, you know, I'm going to miss him.
00:18And Alexander Barkoff yesterday was making the rounds with Brady Kachuk
00:22because they were doing – it was the NHL player media tour.
00:26So, I think they send a couple players to headquarters and they take some pictures.
00:31Like Brady Kachuk's in the Panthers gear now.
00:33But they sent Barky too.
00:35And so, Barky was, I think, speaking to some reporters about – from Toronto about Sergey Bobrovsky.
00:45Here's what he had to say.
00:48Barky said, quote, when he speaks, everyone listens.
00:54It's – at the gym, he's always working hard and on the ice working really hard.
00:58He's one of those guys you look at when you're a young guy and you're like, he's 35, 36,
01:03and he works three times more than I do.
01:05Maybe I should be doing something about it.
01:08And then he said – and this is the one that really hurt.
01:14There's no one like him.
01:16The way he was here for seven seasons, it was just incredible.
01:19We're going to miss him a lot as a person, as a goalie and a person.
01:23He was a great person.
01:25Really, the type of guy you look up to every single day with what he does.
01:28Me, personally, I learned so much from him.
01:32Just watching him.
01:33Just looking at him.
01:34Just seeing what he does day to day and how he tries to get better.
01:38Even at his age.
01:39I think he's like, what, 37, 38?
01:42He feels like and he looks like he's in his early 30s.
01:45Maybe even late 20s.
01:47That's what you want.
01:49To be as perfect a human being and athlete, for sure.
01:53We're going to miss him a lot.
01:58Until you win that chip.
02:01Well, we can't talk about that right now.
02:03Okay.
02:06I'm brokenhearted.
02:08You can play all the sound effects you want.
02:12A perfect human being.
02:15So, let me ask you a question.
02:18Yeah.
02:19Would you rather have Brady Kachuk or Bob?
02:24I'd rather have Bob.
02:26But I know I'm in the vast minority on that.
02:28Okay.
02:29No, it was just, you know, it wasn't.
02:33That's your preference.
02:34Not that I'm not going to love, you know, Brady Kachuk.
02:36And really nothing has to do with the other.
02:38We could have had both.
02:40Jay Figg says, it sounds like your diary.
02:42It wasn't my diary.
02:43That's absurd.
02:44That is Alexander Barkoff talking to reporters.
02:47All right.
02:47He's sad, too.
02:49He's sad, too.
02:51Why can't you know?
02:51You guys always say, oh, you're the only guy who feels like this.
02:53No, Barky feels like it.
02:55You know?
02:56Barky's just being nice.
02:58You sure that was Barky or it wasn't Toby?
03:00I swear to God.
03:01I swear to God.
03:03Sure, it was Barky.
03:05It wasn't Brendan.
03:06It got me right in the heart.
03:09Mrs. Bobrovsky put up photos of them.
03:12Oh, in Toronto.
03:13Moving away.
03:14No, they're moving away today.
03:15Oh, no.
03:16Heading to Toronto.
03:18Damn.
03:23It's tough.
03:25Oh, well.
03:26Gustav Forsling threw out the first pitch.
03:29Yeah, what game?
03:30Panthers?
03:31The Marlins?
03:31Did somebody hit it for a home run?
03:33Because that's what's been happening.
03:34No, I think it was the only one that wasn't a meatball yesterday.
03:41Gustav Forsling was like, hey, you guys are giving up a lot of scoring here.
03:45I never allow that.
03:47Oh, man.
03:49Well, look.
03:51It's tough.
03:52I can't believe that the game isn't going to be on national TV when Bob returns.
03:56That's crazy.
03:57Who had that oversight at the networks?
03:59Nobody cares about Toronto, except for Canada.
04:01They don't?
04:02That's one of the premier.
04:02Except for Canada.
04:04No, that's one of the premier franchises.
04:06I mean, losers.
04:07They're an original six, but they lose.
04:08Yeah, unless it's on, whatchamacallit?
04:10People keep putting on.
04:10Hockey night in Canada, isn't it?
04:13I think people do care about that matchup, and they have the number one overall pick.
04:17Not TNT and not the ESPN and not those guys.
04:20Maybe TSN and Sportsnet.
04:22They just want to keep throwing Bruins games in our face?
04:25They're going to throw you big market teams as much as they can.
04:28So they'll throw you Boston, the Rangers, even though they might not be as good.
04:32They're going to throw them.
04:33Detroit, Chicago.
04:34They love throwing those.
04:35Chicago's been on TV.
04:37Chicago's got Bedard.
04:38I don't know.
04:38They're going to be out.
04:39They still have.
04:40But they were stinking.
04:41They always stink.
04:42But they're always on TV.
04:44What are you talking about?
04:45I'll tell you who I like.
04:46I like those Ducks, even though I don't like Quinville.
04:48I like those Ducks.
04:49They got a fun team.
04:51And they got cool jerseys.
04:53Yeah.
04:54But, yeah.
04:56Man, he called them a perfect human.
04:58Ah, that's something.
05:01Why didn't Barkoff stop this?
05:03What do you mean?
05:04He should have gone into Bill Zito's office and he says he looks like he's 28.
05:07I think those.
05:08He probably said, we're getting Brady Kachuk?
05:12Duh.
05:12Yeah, but that's not.
05:13It has nothing to do with nothing.
05:14They could have had Brady Kachuk and Bobrovsky.
05:17That is true.
05:18Bobrovsky took his ass down.
05:20They just didn't want to give him a no trade clause.
05:22Right.
05:23Rude.
05:25That's part of it.
05:26I mean, clearly they were letting you know if they had to move and they needed to move
05:31you, you're going to get moved.
05:33I mean, they must have thought he was really washed.
05:37Barkoff doesn't think that.
05:39You're telling me Alexander Barkoff doesn't know what he's talking about?
05:43He's Barky.
05:45What part of that is just being nice to a guy that's no longer you're playing with?
05:50You know what I mean?
05:51Is he just being nice or does he just feel how he feels?
05:53It's a little bit.
05:55I think it could be a little bit of both.
05:57Like, I'm not dismissing what he was saying.
06:00Right.
06:01But I am saying that he will definitely say, you know, something nice about Bob.
06:14And I think when they ask you, what about Bob?
06:17Then he went on explaining what he thought of Bob.
06:20He basically called him an angel.
06:22Yeah, but that, okay.
06:25I said some of the same nice things about Metcalf.
06:28I might have never won anything, but I always wanted to do this.
06:31So, can you repeat what I say?
06:33Thank God he's got a chance to do it.
06:53I think it's crazy he doesn't know how to do the chant.
06:55Like, I mean, he literally hears it every game.
06:58And we all know it's Bobby, Bobby.
07:00And he just is like.
07:01I'd rather him not know how to chant, but that means he's focusing on the game and trying
07:04to win instead of being like you, who would be like, whoa, yeah.
07:07I just think it's crazy, though.
07:09Is that like his finish cadence is so strange?
07:17He's like talking to Etude Losterina and he goes, I'm going to tell you, dude, you know what I've been
07:20wanting
07:20to do for the entire time?
07:23He goes, what, man?
07:24He goes, I've been wanting to chant Bobby at the parade.
07:26And Etude's like, all right, cool, man.
07:29And then, like, he gets there and he goes, why did you chant it like that?
07:33Leroy, how do you feel about this compliment?
07:36What compliment?
07:37About Bobby?
07:38Joe Dirt 305 says Zito's White Leroy.
07:41I trust him.
07:46When we see him next Wednesday, I'd be like, hey, look at that.
07:50It's White Leroy.
07:52White Leroy.
07:52I just think that a lot of times we can complain about certain situations, but I think Bill Zito
08:04has earned, to this point, the benefit of making right decisions, right?
08:12And so, even though we don't like it, he's earned enough credibility with the things that
08:23he's done the last three or four years that we trust any decision that he may make concerning
08:29the Panthers.
08:31I think he tells, Bill Zito tells Barky, he goes, go work on your Jakey chants.
08:38He goes, it's Barky and Marky now.
08:43Get out of my office, please.
