00:00I shall grant it a final death.
00:02Now, the weird thing about doing video games generally,
00:06recording video games, and this is a pretty good example of it,
00:10is it bears no similarity to anything else you'll do as an actor
00:16because a script you'll get for a play or a film or anything else
00:20will have a beginning and a middle and an end.
00:22It'll start, be seen one and move on through that way.
00:25But in this kind of idiom, you've got a list of words for different scenarios.
00:31So your character may do well in one particular scenario
00:34and it may do tremendously badly in another one.
00:36You have to have calls and responses for all of those
00:39and you also mustn't try to refer to the line you've just done.
00:44I always remember it being one of the bizarrest experiences
00:47when I first did audio books.
00:49This is really a really long time ago.
00:51I think there was just shouting at people.
00:54I am wrath, I am vengeance, I am death!
00:59And the weird thing that would separate the boys from the goats,
01:04goats and the boys, people who wanted to do it and people who didn't,
01:08is that most people would go, oh, side one, end of side one.
01:10Don't do that.
01:11It's got to be side one, end of side one,
01:13as if nothing has happened before that line.
01:16That's one of the things that happens with video games,
01:19is you have to say every line as if none of the other lines you've said
01:23could, may not have happened, may have happened, may not have happened,
01:25you have no idea whether they did or they didn't.
01:28So that's one of the things that's particularly challenging about video games,
01:32because it's unlike any other kind of acting.
01:34Not very brief answers, these are they?
01:36Terrible.
