"Gott, sei des Kaisers Schutz," known as "Gebet für Kaiser und Reich" in the 1902 Liederbuch, is a Kaiserlied adapted from the Russian Empire's national anthem. The melody is the national anthem "God Save the Tsar" of the Russian Empire. The lyricist is unknown, as this seems to be the German translation of the court poet Vasily Zhukovsky's (1783 - 1852) Russian poem for the anthem. The composer is violinist Alexei Lvov (1798 - 1870).

Context: The singers pray that God protects the mighty and wise emperor. They hope the emperor rules for the people's glory. Enemies fear the strong and faithful emperor. The singers pray that God protects the Reich and keep it united and powerful. They hope goodness and loyalty meet in the Reich. The king of king, Jesus, looks down at the Reich and emperor from heaven and grants justice to the people. May God be the emperor's protector.
