00:02For a much loved Canberra institution, it's been a weekend for the record books.
00:07They come to find the little treasures, the nuggets that are hidden in amongst the books.
00:11They'll pick up a book and it might be an autographed book that was just in amongst the collection,
00:15so it's those little secret finds.
00:17More than 18,000 bookworms from Canberra and beyond
00:20filled bags and trolleys to build their collections.
00:24It's our first time here, so we love it.
00:26I've got different types of Star Wars books.
00:28And I got a massive collection of chess books, which I collect.
00:32And with September marking Suicide Prevention Month,
00:35the fair destigmatises conversations about mental health.
00:39We've had our crisis support team here over the weekend as well
00:42and there's been some wonderful conversations that have been had
00:45that probably wouldn't have been had if we weren't here doing the things like these events.
00:50The event also raises funds for crisis support,
00:53with Lifeline helping more than 36,000 Canberrans in the last year.
00:57From sci-fi to classics to romance, more than 200,000 books have filled the fair's tables.
01:04But for even the most avid collectors, it's the cause that counts.
01:08You know, it's twofold.
01:10You get something for yourself, plus you're helping an organisation.
01:13We just do our part.
01:15A novel approach to improving mental health outcomes.
01:18A novel approach to improving mental health,
01:18a powerful, internal health, intensive care, and a wealth.
01:20And that we're developing a role in preventing mental health.
01:20And that's all we're talking about.
