00:00Today I'm going to take a look back at one of the classics. Classic macros that is. It's going to
00:05be a look here at Miller Lite. First brewed in 1975. This is a light American lager. 4.2%
00:15ABV. Decided to go ahead and grab this one because I never did an individual look at the beer itself
00:21to share with you all there. And welcome if it's your first time to the channel. I appreciate you
00:25being here. And for those of you returning, you're wondering, Rod's doing a macro beer? Yeah,
00:29I'm going to do a macro beer this time to go ahead and have this one covered because I do
00:34have a lot
00:35of people that do like this beer, but I've never shown a direct express interest in doing its own
00:40review. This one here, two interesting ingredients they have with it. One being a corn syrup, although
00:47they don't use high fructose corn syrup. It is actually dextrose. And the other, they have hops,
00:53but they also use hop extract. I've seen that on this. I've seen this on Coors Light. So I think
00:59it's just more common maybe on some of the macros. Let's go ahead and get this one cracked open and
01:04get it poured into the glass. And we'll talk about this one here. And for this, I'm going to actually
01:11use one of the Pilsner glasses, as you can see. So yeah, Miller Lite's been around for a good amount
01:18of time as a kid growing up, remembering the old taste great, less filling commercials they did.
01:24In fact, I think they brought them back and give them a new look now with some newer athletes. And
01:30I think Luke Wilson is actually kind of that narrating part of the commercial itself. So
01:35it goes back for a good amount of time. There you have the pale straw color of the beer.
01:42Nothing's going to change there. They've been doing it since 75. They're going to keep doing it
01:45like they've been doing it since 75. Get a little closer, you can definitely see some carbonation
01:50action in place. You get the head that sits pretty much white in itself with some nice
01:56billowiness in the head, nice little foam action taking place on the nose. What jumps out first is
02:03definitely kind of that corn smell. You do have some malt sweetness. You do have some yeast in play
02:10and you get like a grassy earthy type quality when you take that sniff there. But in line with what
02:17you would expect to get from the adjunct type beers, adjunct lagers, adjunct light lagers or whatever it
02:24may be. Taste wise. Now I will say taste wise, it does have a crisp, clean type feel. This beer
02:41is one of those beers that's good if you're out in like the heat and you want something to beat
02:46it,
02:46but also having a nice refreshing quality. Does come in with that aftertaste of the corn though on the
02:52back end. I'm not a huge fan of that, but for being light, you know, it's going to be a
02:58thin body,
02:58but I will say it doesn't carry as much of that watery aspect. Now, another thing with this type of
03:05style, you definitely want to drink it as cold as you can because you don't really want to have this
03:09warm up like you would with a craft beer. So these tend to go down rather quickly, so to speak.
03:17And
03:17there's another look with the other pour into the glass and don't waste time with it. You know,
03:22drink it and move on to whatever else, or maybe you're going to crack open another one.
03:27If you want something easy drinking, something that's going to be just a steady Betty, so to speak,
03:33you can go with a Miller Lite like this.
03:39I believe all beers have their spot and this is easily one that will be out there for that
03:46daily type drinker or something where you want that taste of beer, but you don't want to be overly done.
03:51I would temper expectations though, if you're used to drinking a lot of the craft beers,
03:56because obviously this is not going to give you some of that stuff, but not too shabby overall.
