00:00Now, I want to just quickly mention, when I was alluding to a Heisman Trophy candidate playing in the Georgia
00:05-Tennessee State game,
00:06it is obviously not on the Tennessee State side.
00:09We did not get into this a ton last week, but I found Gunnar Stockton to be the best of
00:14the options on the board.
00:16I understand the superstars at the top.
00:19My goodness, the performance last night for Metsa and Tony.
00:22We'll talk more about it, but it's not just those guys, right?
00:24It's Arch, it's Carr, it's Moore.
00:27It's guys with NFL profiles.
00:28And while I respect that, I don't think that Gunnar Stockton, who doesn't profile as the same NFL prospect,
00:36will be left out here if Georgia are as good as they should be, which is floor 10 wins, maybe
00:4411, win at SEC, favorites to do so.
00:48Stockton is the show this year.
00:49It's very interesting.
00:51Georgia are good.
00:52But when you look for the star, it really is Gunnar Stockton.
00:56And in a way that I'm not very accustomed to for the Bulldogs here.
01:00So I thought 25-1 to get in on the Georgia quarterback was a really nice price.
01:06I'm pretty sure, though, for you, Dave, you had a great start to a ticket.
01:10We'll get into some long shots, but in what you saw from Darian Mensah last night against Stanford,
01:16more touchdowns and incompletions to me.
01:18That's always a good recipe.
01:22It is, and I got in on him at 11-1 about three, four weeks ago as I was doing
01:26an article for prize picks,
01:28and that was what my pick was for early season Heisman, which we know means absolutely nothing,
01:32until you watch what he did last night.
01:34And all of a sudden, he's now the favorite at plus 550.
01:36So I already got my value built in there.
01:39It got cut in half last night.
01:40I wouldn't want to be the people who woke up this morning and went to go bet Mensah at plus
01:44550.
01:45Don't do that.
01:4611-1 is where it was.
01:47As far as Stockton's concerned, my only issue is you know at some point there's going to be that road
01:53SEC game
01:54that Georgia has where Stockton's going to get beat up a little bit and have a bad game,
01:57throw two or three picks.
01:59Georgia, I mean, if they run the table and go undefeated and win the SEC, he's your Heisman Trophy winner.
02:03Like, that's been, you've seen that time and time again.
02:05An SEC team was undefeated, and at the top, he wins the Heisman.
02:08But if they don't, and he has that bad game, and you're looking at Carr, and you're looking at Dante
02:14Moore,
02:15and you're looking at Mensah, it's going to be tough for him to have 25-1 is a wonderful number.
02:20So, proud of that, that you got that.
02:21That's a great number.
02:22But if he has that one game that slips up with everybody behind him, I worry that that's a problem.
02:28Well, one of the things I am somewhat banking on is last year, the Big Ten Championship game was, you
02:41know,
02:41the, it was a money in the bank match with the Heisman Trophy hanging over the field.
02:46It was either going to be Sayon or Mendoza.
02:48As somebody who's in on Texas, I think it's very possible that we get a Georgia-Texas SEC title game
02:55and Winner also takes the Heisman Trophy.
02:57Now, Gunnar Stockton is going to absolutely have to deliver to make that a reality.
03:02But you're absolutely right.
03:06Mensah has the path of least resistance.
03:10Stockton has the ability, though, to play in bigger games.
03:13Mensah may only play in one true big game.
03:19Here's the other fascinating thing.
03:21Mensah's the favorite.
03:22It's a quarterback's award most recently.
03:26But I don't think I am hating on Darian Mensah when I say there was a Heisman Trophy performance last
03:33night
03:34and it was not Darian Mensah.
03:35It was Malachi Tony's 12 for 234 and 3.
03:42I would be happy if I had a Malachi Tony ticket instead of a Mensah ticket as well.
03:46I know Mensah got the number shortened to plus 550, but if Tony keeps putting up the 200 yards and
03:53three touchdowns,
03:53he'll be the one walking out of New York City with that Heisman Trophy.
03:57He is incredible.
03:58And he's delivering exactly what they said he was going to deliver, which you don't see all the time.
04:03I know you take the kid in Alabama, Williams, who did it for one year and then disappeared last year.
04:08What Tony is doing, he could go down and you're talking about the University of Miami here.
04:13We're talking about Michael Irving and Andre Johnson, and I could sit there for the next 10 minutes and list
04:17them.
04:18Malachi Tony might go down as the best wide receiver in Miami Hurricanes history.
04:22That's a pretty high bar.
04:24He will be in the mix for Heisman.
04:27I do worry the two of them, you know, kind of split the vote a little bit, which might sneak
04:31in someone else.
04:32But what I saw last night out of the two of them was outstanding.
04:34So, let's take a look at the beginning.
