00:00The Red Sox and the Yankees just were at each other's throats.
00:04The Yankees won 16-1 yesterday.
00:07They take the season series 7-6, which gives the Yankees the tiebreak if they were to tie.
00:14That's not going to happen in my mind.
00:16These teams faced off in last year's wildcard series.
00:19They could very well meet again.
00:21The Red Sox have a big lead on the third wildcard.
00:24So unless things really go south for Boston, they're going to wind up being the second wildcard.
00:29The Yankees will be the first wildcard.
00:31They're not going to catch the Rays.
00:32And so these two teams will probably face off.
00:34And the Yankees wound up winning the game 16-1 yesterday.
00:37And they took the series three games to one.
00:41The anger from Red Sox Nation today about a catch that was ruled a hit by Sedan Raffaella in center
00:50field yesterday is driving me crazy.
00:54Because I understand why folks are angry.
00:57But the Red Sox bullpen got torched on Saturday.
01:01And it got torched on Sunday.
01:04I mean, Ranger Suarez gives up a three-run home run in the wake of that call.
01:08It was 2-0.
01:09And then Ranger Suarez winds up getting into more trouble and gives up a three-run home run.
01:15It was 5-0.
01:17And the Red Sox offense is what people should be mad about.
01:21I don't think it's one call.
01:23It's such a bunch of baby mentality to be crying about one call that changed everything.
01:31Oh, protest.
01:32This game's a joke.
01:34The Red Sox got robbed.
01:35It's one game out of 162.
01:38And yes, I know it's a huge game.
01:40Yankees won the season series.
01:41And the Red Sox are now four games behind in the loss column, which means they got to make up
01:46five games in the loss column to wind up winning that second wild card.
01:50And there's 26 games left.
01:51That's not happening.
01:52Okay.
01:52Red Sox are not catching the Yankees.
01:54If they had won yesterday, there would have been two games back and they would have had a shot to
01:58catch the Yankees.
01:59But unless the Yankees really fall apart and Mike Stanton's not coming back, I don't know when Aaron Judge is
02:05coming back.
02:06I mean, sometime in September, we think he's going to come back.
02:08But the Yankees pitching is tremendous.
02:10And if they get any offense whatsoever, the Yankees are a really big problem.
02:14And the Red Sox offense just isn't good.
02:18It hasn't been good all year.
02:19Okay.
02:19You're asking guys to play above their ability and you're asking them to play in big moments.
02:24And that's what happened in April, in May, when they came out of the, of the shoot, Red Sox offense
02:30was awful.
02:31Then they caught fire.
02:32Everyone couldn't miss the baseball in July.
02:35And they won on a 27 to three run over 30 games.
02:39It was ridiculous.
02:40Yet when we get to August in September and the games start to get more important and the eyes start
02:47to shift back onto the Red Sox and everyone starts paying attention again, the pressure mounts.
02:52And so they get Trevor story back yesterday.
02:54They get Roman Anthony back yesterday.
02:56They scored one run in three games against the Yankees.
03:00They had zero, one, or two runs.
03:04They won the first game of the doubleheader six to nothing.
03:07Great.
03:07You scored six runs.
03:09Even that's not that impressive.
03:10This offense is not potent enough to overcome any bad start.
03:16Like if they get any rocky pitching and the pitching in April and May was bad for Boston.
03:21It got very good in May, June, and July.
03:23And that's why they're going to make the postseason.
03:25They've got really good pitching.
03:27And at some point, Garrett Crochet may come back and pitch out of the bullpen to help them.
03:31But this team offensively has always been a problem.
03:36And it showcased itself again over the weekend against the Yankees.
03:39The Yankees are without their two big bats, and they still have more offense one to nine than the Red
03:45Sox do.
03:46And so this ultimately is not a team that's going to contend for a World Series.
03:51I mean, making the playoffs is amazing.
03:53But the call in center field with Raffaella, he's still mad about after the game.
03:57He's still talking about it.
03:58Like, let it go, man.
03:59It's a bad call.
04:00Okay?
04:00You caught the ball.
04:01I get it.
04:01You caught the ball.
04:02But it was 2-0 when that call happened.
04:05They lost the game 16-1.
04:07Explain to me how one call in center field led to 16 runs or 14 more runs by the Yankees.
04:14It didn't.
04:15Did it change the game?
04:17Yeah.
04:18Were the Red Sox going to win that game?
04:19Probably not.
04:2116-1.
04:22I don't really care about the final score.
04:23I care more about what's coming out of that locker room after losing 3-4 to the Yankees
04:29and pretty much guaranteeing that the Red Sox are going to be back at Yankee Stadium in the Wild Card
04:36Series.
04:37They got to go there and find a way to win two games.
04:40I don't know if that's possible given the mentality and the offensive bats the Red Sox are going to pull
04:46up with.
04:46So this is a massive overreaction by a lot of fair-weather Red Sox fans that just woke up and
04:53realized,
04:53oh my God, the team's good, and now you walk into Yankees in the Yankee Stadium and you lose 3
04:59-4
04:59and you're stomping around like a two-year-old yelling and screaming because of a bad call in center field.
05:06Get over it.
05:07Seriously, get over it and move off of it because that's not why they lost 3-4.
05:13Their bullpen wasn't good.
05:14Their pitching wasn't good.
05:16And their offense was pathetic over the course of a four-game series.
05:20That's far more concerning than an umpire blowing a call for a catch that was made.
05:26Sadam Rafiala did make that catch.
05:29In my opinion, most people's opinion, you watch it, it was a catch.
05:32It didn't matter.
05:33In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter.
05:36In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter.
05:36In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter.
05:36In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter.
05:36In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter.
