A teenager who spent a decade dreaming of owning her grandpa's pickup broke down in tears when she realized he'd secretly bought himself a new one so he could hand her the keys to the old one. Gracelyn Lawson, 15, from Liberty, Indiana, has loved her grandpa Elbert Burden's 2016 Chevy Silverado since he drove it home when she was five years old. Elbert, 82, known to her as Papa, has been at the center of her life ever since. Cleaning the church, running errands, or making their standing trip to McDonald's for Oreo McFlurrys with extra Oreo pieces, Gracelyn was rarely far from his side or his truck. Along with those memories came a single dream. From the moment Papa brought the Silverado home, Gracelyn hoped it would one day be hers. She asked for it constantly as she got older, and Elbert would joke about trading it in every time he bought another truck. So with her learner's permit only weeks away, Gracelyn assumed her chance had gone.
