A newlywed couple took the ultimate plunge into married life – by planning an adrenaline fueled-wedding which included jumping off a CLIFF EDGE. Kristyn Gingrich, 35, and Dennis Gingrich, 67, from Lake Placid, Florida, first got to know each other around eight years ago, and both had very different visions of what their future might hold. Dennis, who is widowed, didn’t see himself getting married again, while Kristyn had always envisioned a big, grand white wedding – but in the end, the couple did the exact opposite of those things. The pair said after the pandemic, their priorities changed and talk of a wedding started – with their idea of a big day fitting into their love of traveling, rather than spending large sum of money on a big party. They started planning, with Kristyn searching online for "fun places to elope in The States," and discovering a company called Vows With Views, who are rebranding as GlampFire Travel. Having looked through the company's photos, Kristyn saw an image of a bride rappelling down a cliff in front of the stunning backdrop of Moab and decided that was the one. Within 30 minutes they had scheduled a call with the company's owner, Mallory, and after one conversation, the wheels were in motion for their big few days, starting on September 30, 2025. For the ceremony itself, Kristyn and Dennis stayed off grid in Mallory's Airstream caravan, before Kristyn’s mom officiated the ceremony during golden hour just off the Million Dollar Highway. Then, the following morning, the adventure began.

00:00Every little girl, you know, dreams of a big wedding, but he lugged my dress around with a pair of
00:05scissors
00:05and every time we got to whatever we were doing, we'd try it on and cut here, cut there.
00:11I'm having the big white wedding.
00:16But I'm still wearing a wedding dress.
00:20We've known each other for about eight years.
00:22He was married once before.
00:24My mom and I actually held with the family in the funeral and I just went to check on him.
00:28That's when I discovered that his birthday was coming up.
00:32It was his 60th birthday.
00:34I decided to kind of surprise him and he said, well, I don't really have anyone else to go out
00:39to dinner for my birthday.
00:40Little by little, we would do these weekly dinners, completely platonic.
00:44And then after a while, I never had an issue with the age thing.
00:48It bothered him a little bit more.
00:50So he was a little slower to come around to that.
00:54And the COVID happened relatively early on into our relationship.
00:58So we kind of went from zero to 60.
01:02I always said I would probably never get married again.
01:04And after a couple of years dating and having fun, I kind of changed my mind.
01:08I didn't want a big wedding.
01:10It's just not something I really wanted to do.
01:12Every little girl dreams of a big wedding.
01:15But when you do end up waiting until later in life to get married, it changes how you feel about
01:20things.
01:21At the end of the day, I just wanted him.
01:22So it didn't matter what we did.
01:24When we were still kind of in hiding a little bit, he was doing a cross-country road trip.
01:30And he asked if I wanted to meet him out in Utah.
01:34Our entire wedding road trip was a recreation of that first trip that he and I took together.
01:41Kristen has always wanted to have a big wedding.
01:44So we kind of decided to just play maybe just a road trip and maybe just an adventure wedding.
01:49And then she started to search online.
01:51There was this one picture in particular.
01:53Bride was hanging down in a wedding dress and the groom was underneath.
01:56And I was like, that.
01:58I want to do that.
01:59It really fit both of what we wanted.
02:01I don't know what most people do on day one of their wedding.
02:04But, you know, we scaled it out.
02:06There were a couple of points where, you know, they'd tell us to kind of stop and let go and
02:11kiss.
02:11Or, you know, take some pictures.
02:12And he goes, let go?
02:14I was like, if we have a chance to have that iconic picture of me propelling and the wind catches
02:20the veil, I want to take it to extremes.
02:23And I did.
02:25And it was epic.
02:26He lugged my dress around with a pair of scissors.
02:28And every time we got the whatever harness we were doing, we tried it on and cut here and cut
02:33there.
02:33I've been trying to get him skydive this whole time.
02:36He's like, yeah, that's not happening.
02:38But I kept showing him these videos of jumping off a cliff.
02:40Yes, but you're, you know, harnessing it and all that.
02:42And he was like, yeah, that's something I'd probably do.
03:03It was just magical.
03:06It was amazing.
03:09It was so fun.
03:16When I got the drone footage, I was like, oh my gosh, it's perfect.
03:21It's exactly what I had in my mind.
03:23And it made plugging that dress around and cutting that dress up worth it.
03:28Two, one.
03:34Just live life to its fullest.
03:38Face it, I'm a lot older than she is.
03:40So I've got less years to spend with my wife.
03:44So I won't make the most of it.
03:45And I think everybody should, regardless of your age or what you do.
03:49I won't change a thing.
03:50No.
03:50It was so us.
03:53I won't change a thing.
03:53I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
03:54I won't change a thing.
