00:00It feels like the White Sox officially dismantled the Twins this weekend, or at least they came close to doing
00:06it.
00:06I think a lot of the talk around the Twins has now gone away, as they won the series already
00:11against them, and they also beat Texas.
00:13We've talked about their offense.
00:15Look, I mean, I guess there's a scenario where the White Sox in that wildcard round, because they're going to
00:20be the worst division winner, I would assume.
00:22Well, actually, maybe not.
00:24I mean, I guess the West may end up being the worst with the wildcard.
00:28Look, the White Sox are not going to be able to hit their way through the postseason, Tom.
00:31You know that's not going to be.
00:32Like, eventually, they're going to face some pitching, and they're going to go down.
00:35But they have been a fun team this season, and we'll see if they can hold off the Guardians, who
00:40also had a really good week.
00:42They swept the Angels Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before running into the Royals, who I do want to spend some
00:47time on here.
00:49Yeah, the dynamic between the White Sox and the Guardians is really interesting,
00:54because the White Sox are in a spot where, you know, we just talked about them.
00:58They're hot hitters.
00:59They've had a great season.
01:01They have interesting pieces.
01:02Are they really built for the postseason?
01:04Do they really have enough top-end talent between pitching, hitting, to win a series?
01:10That I'm not sure about.
01:11When it comes to how hot the Guardians have been as of late, I think it makes it interesting with
01:16the AL Central,
01:16because this is a team that people don't want to count out because they've done it before.
01:20They've proven that they can weather the storm and come back.
01:23I will say it is a little bit of a product of their recent results, where they won the series
01:28versus the Giants.
01:29Congrats.
01:30They go ahead and sweep the Rockies.
01:32Congrats.
01:33They go ahead and sweep the Angels.
01:35The Angels have been better.
01:36Like, they fired everybody.
01:37They made a bunch of trades at the deadline.
01:39All of a sudden, the Angels are better after having less talent, theoretically, on their lineup.
01:43But they are beating up on bad teams.
01:45But it does make the AL Central race a little bit interesting at this point.
01:48So, if you were to give me a choice at this point or head-to-head in a series, I
01:53would take the Guardians.
01:54I think they have much better top-end pitching talent and better hitting talent.
01:58And when you give me a series that we can have Gavin Williams, who's been unbelievable this year,
02:02Parker Messick, and Tanner Bybee as your 1-2-3, I will take that rotation.
02:06And then Foster Griffin coming into the bullpen.
02:08I'll take all four of those guys ahead of the White Sox any day of the week.
02:12The Cleveland September record is undeniable.
02:14Every year, they really come on strong in September.
02:18And so, maybe that will happen again.
