00:00I mean, because I spoke to Jacob Collier a few months ago, and he told me about the time that
00:03you tried playing his five string.
00:06Oh yeah!
00:06I handed this guitar to Julian Larch, and it was just unbelievable. I was so confounded by his.
00:13He didn't even ask or investigate what the tuning was. He just started playing.
00:17And I just watched his eyes sort of do this and widen and widen. He was solving the problems in
00:21his
00:22brain and figuring out how to find his way around. I've actually never heard anything like it in my
00:27whole life. That's very sweet of him. It was cool because I've never been one to really play with
00:32tunings or drop D. It caught me off guard in a really fun way. I was like, first of all,
00:38I don't know what anything is, so I'll just play. And you don't have to know where things are to
00:43make sound or music. And I think that was what I thought was so fun. Someone like Jacob knows
00:49exactly what to do and how to utilize it. It's brilliant. I'm on the other end of the spectrum
00:55where my ignorance is just, well, it's a sound. I've got no expertise to bring to the table.
01:01And you deal with timbre, rhythm, proportions. It's all the same stuff. You just don't have your usual
01:06guidelines, you know?
