00:00.
00:06Hi there, I'm Conor Cross, Art Director at Playground Games.
00:09And today I'm excited to show you a brand new gameplay demo of Fable.
00:14In this demo we're going to show you an early quest in the game.
00:17You'll see cinematics, exploration, choices and combat.
00:21Exactly how you'll experience it when we launch next year on February 23rd.
00:25And it all takes place against the magnificent backdrop of Albion's capital city, Bowerstone.
00:39Bowerstone is home to over 400 of our living population.
00:43Fable's handcrafted, fully voiced NPCs.
00:46They all have their own jobs, traits, hobbies, families and homes.
00:51And you can interact with every single one of them.
00:58Bowerstone is huge, with over 130 homes and more than 30 businesses to be found across the city.
01:04And you can buy them all, if you have the gold.
01:07And of course, you can go inside all of them.
01:11I'm currently in the Market District, which, as the name implies, is full of businesses.
01:17If you're interested in changing your appearance, Crown Hairdressers is over on the right.
01:21And up on the left, we have Stitch Please, Butterfield Market's high-end tailors.
01:38Now, this isn't my first visit to Bowerstone.
01:41In fact, I've been quite busy between heroics.
01:43I've already purchased a home and started a family.
01:45I've done some shifts at the bakery to make gold.
01:48And I've helped out a few of the locals, as there are many people in Albion in need of a
01:52hero.
01:52Hero!
02:00Let's go and check in on my family.
02:03This handsome chap is Elliot, my spouse.
02:06Looking good, darling.
02:08He has his own job, hobbies, routine and memory.
02:11Like the rest of our living population, he's not scripted set dressing.
02:15He has emergent behaviour powered by real-time systems.
02:24And he lives here, with me and our daughter, Daisy.
02:29Where do babies come from?
02:34Homes come in many different shapes, sizes and prices.
02:38And all of them are richly detailed and full of life.
02:43So glad I married all of that.
02:46Right, back to our story.
02:48So far, I've been searching for the Heroes Guild, a traditional home of heroes in Albion.
02:54I'm looking for someone to help our grandma and village, who've been turned to stone by Isabelle,
02:58the mysterious hero in a red cloak.
03:02The guild has been locked so far, but I recently acquired a key from my adoptive brother, Connor.
03:11All right, Conn? Let's try this key.
03:16Let's try this one more time.
03:26Bye-bye.
03:33Please do Run.
03:353
03:46Welcome to the Heroes Guild, home of the legendary Guildmaster Humphrey the Golden.
04:17Mother?
04:23Can I get a large beer, please, thank you.
04:41A large beer.
04:44Right.
04:45As the saying goes, never meet your heroes.
04:52This will do.
05:05Oh.
05:09Throughout your adventure, you'll be faced with choices, some of which are huge world-changing
05:14decisions.
05:15Others are smaller, but all of them have consequences.
05:18The key thing to remember is that every choice can get you a reputation.
05:23Oh, you two get bloody tough.
05:33Oh, right.
05:35Hero.
05:36Yeah.
05:37Yeah, of course you are.
05:39I need your help.
05:41Now I'm finished.
05:44Guild's closed.
05:46My Nan used to tell stories about you.
05:48She said-
05:49Your Nan?
05:49If you're some kind of mega-fan, I think I've still got some merch out the back.
05:56Got shields with my face on.
06:00Sort of tabard things.
06:02She's trapped.
06:05They all are.
06:07My whole village.
06:08There was a woman in red.
06:10She could have been a hero or-
06:12You're a hero.
06:15You'll work it out.
06:17And what about you?
06:19You're being evicted.
06:21Are you gonna tell me what happened?
06:23I mean, I'm not particularly proud of it, but, er, I ran up a few debts.
06:30I, er, don't like to talk about that.
06:34I reached out to a local sculptor in town, commissioned him to, er, capture my image in a roar and
06:43marble.
06:44Anyway, I don't know what I did wrong, but, er, guys wouldn't pay me in the end.
06:52I, er, did what anyone would do and, er, I went down to Ronnie's place.
06:58You lost the Hero's Guild on a bet.
07:08It's fine.
07:11I'll get it back.
07:12And your gold.
07:13You're not listening.
07:14I meant what I said.
07:16I'm done.
07:18I'm not doing it for you.
07:25So, I'm off to get the guildies back from Ronnie and her gang, the Slicks.
07:30Fortunately, I don't have to go far before I run into them.
07:34And we're about to meet Billy, part-time playwright and full-time orphan, who's bringing Humphrey her latest script.
07:43What's going on here?
07:44Oh my gosh.
07:46A new hero.
07:47Mind if I take notes?
07:48Keep your nose out, mate.
07:51Slick Ronnie sent us.
07:53She wants old golden balls evicted.
07:56And we're happy to oblige.
08:01This doesn't need to get violent.
08:03Whoa.
08:04Giving villains a chance to save themselves?
08:07So heroic.
08:08Wrong.
08:09Ronnie owns those deeds now.
08:12Legally, the guild's hers.
08:15So that means you're trespassing.
08:20Get somewhere safe.
08:22Take this.
08:23Got it.
08:24This is all so real.
08:29Are you pissed?
08:36Whoa!
08:37You're dying!
08:39Take her!
08:40No!
08:42No!
08:44No!
08:45No!
08:46No!
08:46No!
08:48No!
08:48No!
08:57No!
09:02Wow!
09:03That was so authentic.
09:05You're the real deal.
09:07And I thought I'd read up on all the heroes.
09:09So, which one are you?
09:12I'm the hero of Brier Hill.
09:14I don't know where that is.
09:17But I bet they're proud of having you as the hero.
09:22So, what are you doing here?
09:24Oh, right. I have Mr. Golden's script.
09:27It's the first step of my three-step plan.
09:30Write the musical, get Mr. Golden to star in the musical,
09:34make Mr. Golden happy again.
09:41Best of luck with that.
09:42Thanks, hero.
09:44He didn't like the first four drafts, but I think I've nailed the fifth.
09:47Anyway, I bet you have some hero business,
09:50so I'm just going to wait here for Mr. Golden.
09:53He has to come out eventually.
09:59Billy will show up again later in our story,
10:01but I've got these to recover.
10:04Before I do, I have a skill point to spend.
10:06You earn these throughout the game as you progress through quests
10:09and explore the open world.
10:10Here's a brief glimpse of our skill tree,
10:12where I'm going to spend my skill point on blades,
10:15a spell which is great for crowd control.
10:18I'll equip it now.
10:19As you've seen, you never know when you'll end up in a fight.
10:22I'm also able to upgrade my weapons
10:24with new combos and abilities
10:26using special magical gems known as willstones,
10:29which can be found across the world.
10:34Ronnie's pub is in Copperbottom,
10:36home of Bowerstone's working class.
10:38It suffers from poverty and unemployment,
10:40and it's very cramped and crowded.
10:42So I'll use my wisp to help us navigate there.
10:46Wisp me away on your steed!
10:48If I had time, I could head into the Painted Prince,
10:51a tattoo parlour.
10:52In Fable, you can choose how you look,
10:54but it's your actions that determine what people think about you.
10:57If you wanted, you could even influence the economy in this area.
11:01It all begs the question,
11:03what type of hero do you want to be?
11:06What's that, hero?
11:11Here we are, Ronnie's pub, The Poor House.
11:14I'll ask around and see if there's a way to get those deeds back.
11:26What do you want?
11:29Best not be a beer.
11:31Well, the Bahamese clearly not a fan.
11:33Anyone seen my Ransom Note practice?
11:37Oi!
11:39You!
11:40Got business with Ronnie, or what?
11:45You tell me.
11:46Me?
11:47Tell you?
11:49I think that's a bit above my pay grade, pal.
11:52You'll have to chat to the big dog on the door.
11:54She knows Ronnie's schedule.
11:56Thanks.
11:57You're welcome.
11:58Or not.
12:00We're the slicks.
12:01We don't care about manners.
12:03Any feedback for me, by the way?
12:05I'm on a work experience placement.
12:07If I don't make it here,
12:08I've got to slum it with the Oakshire gangs, you know?
12:14Try swearing more, arsehole.
12:17Blimey!
12:18I could give it a shitting go.
12:20Cheers, hero.
12:22Great.
12:23I got the info we need,
12:24and I was able to give him some very useful advice in the process.
12:27Let's hope that helps him out.
12:29You lost, hero!
12:33What?
12:34I'm here to see Ronnie.
12:36Good for you.
12:38Boss isn't really taking on new clients right now.
12:40You've got an appointment.
12:44We're on the clock, so this time I'll pay to get through.
12:47Although, you can approach this obstacle in a bunch of ways,
12:50depending on how you want to play.
12:52Can't you look the other way?
12:55For that amount of coin,
12:56I'll look whichever way you tell me to, mate.
12:59Why don't you go on through, eh?
13:01Make yourself at home.
13:03But not two at home.
13:04Nor touching the boss's stuff.
13:07She'll be with you shortly.
13:16If I had the guild deeds,
13:18where would I stash them?
13:27Our hero is nothing if not resourceful.
13:46Right.
13:47Better get this back to the guild.
13:54Stray too far from daddy, hero.
13:58Let me guess.
14:00You're lost.
14:02I had a few too many pints, actually.
14:08You smug git.
14:09That's quite funny.
14:11I tell you what, though.
14:12It takes stones robbing for me in my own poor house.
14:16Humphrey used to be like that,
14:17back in the day,
14:19before he shit the bed and fell apart.
14:21Not that I haven't enjoyed
14:23watching the guild slowly bleed out.
14:28Well, you're bleeding out next.
14:31Now you're speaking my language.
14:33This hero caught in your grave, boss.
14:37Nothing you lot can't sort out.
14:39Humphrey should have warned you
14:40not to fuck with me, hero.
14:42Bit late now.
14:46Sort them out.
14:47Where's your kill now?
14:51That was the intern, you twat.
15:00It's time to try out our new spell,
15:01Blades, which is great for crowd control.
15:10I'm currently playing on Legend mode,
15:13one of our harder difficulties,
15:14which is for players who want
15:15a more demanding combat challenge.
15:17And I'll need to make use of all the tools
15:18in my arsenal if I want to succeed.
15:22Tools that include new spells,
15:23abilities, weapons, and upgrades,
15:26all of which combine to create a loadout
15:28tailored to how you want to deal
15:30with combat encounters.
17:31Where each choice shapes your journey.
17:33Reputation is everything.
17:35Fairytale endings are never guaranteed.
17:38Fable launches February 23, 2027.
17:41We cannot wait for you to play it.
