01:10return ESPN has said negotiations have
01:13taken a quote awfully nasty turn so it's
01:15certainly possible if he takes the
01:17qualifying offer and throws away a hundred
01:19million dollars he's looking to leave

01:27together the Pistons trade with
01:29Milwaukee for Miles Turner Ryan
01:31Rollins and a first-round pick
01:33protected in 2031
01:36Miles Turner gives them
01:38shot blocking a little bit of shooting in
01:40the front court
01:41Ryan Rollins scored 17 a game he's on a
01:44team-friendly contract
01:45he can play in the backcourt and give him a
01:47little bit of shooting and scoring it's
01:49not an awesome return

02:19blow up in his face in the postseason
02:20not in one round but in two rounds so
02:22how good is he really I would love him
02:24to come back at our price I give

02:44on Jalen Duren I think you are looking at
02:46this with logical eyes and the logical
02:51eyes say yes he was third team all NBA
02:55through the course of 82 regular season
02:57games which I believe he played 72 of them
03:00I could be off by one or two but you also
03:04had a chance to see him against the
03:05Orlando Magic as did the rest of the NBA
03:09executives and then you had the added
03:12added data points of watching him
03:15against the Cleveland Cavaliers so if it
03:18was just one series and you thought well
03:21maybe it was a bad matchup maybe it was
03:24Angel Reese maybe whatever okay but then
03:30he comes back against Cleveland and is
03:31that all NBA player it he wasn't and I
03:36think the rest of the NBA saw that as
03:40well he has his limitations is he really
03:42good yes is he great no no and I'm just
03:46curious as to that's one way to go about
03:49it thinking you need something in return
03:51the other way to look at it and I'm just
03:54gonna play as we are doing today devil's
03:57advocate you sign him for whatever that
04:01qualifying offer is nine million dollars
04:03you're gonna get the best version I would
04:06think of Jalen Durham because he is still
04:09playing for that next contract sure at the
04:13end of the year no doubt he walks he's
04:16unrestricted you have no chance to sign
04:19him but you also haven't handicapped
04:21yourself with any other contracts okay and
04:25so you can go out and this is where it gets a
04:27little murky because we just haven't seen

04:31cap space to go out and either sign a free
04:35agent and I don't know what from next
04:36year's free agent list looks like or you
04:40can trade to be able to take on extra
04:43salary so you have that flexibility how
04:48did optionality optionality is is maybe
04:52the best way to put it for the for for the
04:54NBA fans I'm leery so optionality didn't
04:58do us any good this offseason that's with
04:59Trajan and then as a Pistons fan this isn't
05:01fair but I am scarred with optionality and
05:04cap space being Charlie V and Ben Gordon

05:09is nice but you got to be able to weaponize
05:11it and do something with it if Jalen
05:14Dern plays out this year and plays his best
05:17brand of basketball I still think his game
05:19is what it is yeah they aren't going to win

05:53heartbeat Miles is a real player and
05:56Rollins Rollins blossomed last year he's a
05:58legitimate backup guard to help Cade we
06:01have a lot of backup guards to help Cade
06:03go I mean it that's where the issue that
06:06you run into you've got a lot of guys
06:09sitting on the bench to give Cade a rest
06:12it's who can play next to him in crunch
06:15time at the end of games right um and and
06:18maybe okay so first of all this is not
06:21hearsay this is not being reported as
06:23well we hear this might be going on this
06:25is just a trade that somebody made up it's
06:27an I it's an outside the box how can I
06:29solve this problem it's becoming a problem
06:30Jalen Dern isn't signing yeah in terms of
06:33like who is Ryan Rollins because people
06:36might not know who this guy's young player
06:38he's 24 years old last year at 23 years
06:41old it was his first year really playing
06:43major minutes scored 17 points per game
06:45he shot 40 percent from three on volume
06:48six attempts a game I mean young guard
06:52with some upside and and Miles Turner who
06:54you could plug into the Dern minutes
06:55right and if you're looking to replace
06:57the production the two form one Jalen
