00:04probably some difficult decisions on jb's plate as they head towards game five
00:09gator to be clear here because we've had a lot of people make some suggestion on changing around
00:14some lineup things i'm not against maybe a little bit quicker trigger are you are you in favor of
00:21changing starting lineups i'm not against it but i mean this is a weird way of saying it i'm not
00:29against i wouldn't do it but if if he wants to change things up i would i would sit back
00:34and go
00:34okay here we go it's interesting i personally wouldn't do it what i would do is have a quick
00:40hook on guys i wouldn't do it i'm against it but i would have a little bit quicker hook king
00:44are you
00:44in favor of changing the starting lineup no i like the starting lineup it's fine but just like you
00:48guys i think you need to adjust quicker on the fly in real time like to me i've seen enough
00:53of jalen
00:54during throughout the playoffs where i'm like hey i'm not sure i know they want him to get back i
00:58know
00:58that he has the ability to get back to what he was but we don't have time right now to
01:02for him to
01:03learn it you know so if he's not feeling it right away hey let's get him on the bench recalibrate
01:08and
01:08get him back in later there's a little bit too of hey do you think jd is gonna respond do
01:16you think
01:16that he and i'm not talking about like the oh he's gonna go 2010 this was his worst performance in
01:23the postseason same thing with a star though like you know there's a whole bunch of guys
01:29that didn't play up to their own standard last night and didn't produce the way they're typically
01:34producing well three-year starters had their worst game yeah and would throw duncan robinson in the
01:38mix as well and then in danis jenkins was a complete no show off the bench i think kate can
01:43be better i'm
01:44worried about kate and fatigue though but i i've talked about that i think the only guy on the floor
01:50i guess paul reed too but karis lavert's the only one who can feel proud of himself today
01:54like hey i i did well enough paul reed was was was balling um he he played well last night
02:02in his
02:02limited minutes but as we continue to say don't need paul reed to reach the 20 minute plateau i like
02:08paul reed coming off the bench and providing that spark i i want to see ron holland more because i
02:14think
02:14ron holland defensively is a dog and i think they need to sick that dog on those two guards a
02:18big part
02:19of their identity and that that is you know the type of thing that if they're not going to play
02:23good defense they're going to be done anyway so how do you get the best out of this team on
02:28that
02:28end of the floor uh let's go to charles you're next on 97 one hello charles yeah i uh you
02:34know
02:35watched that game last night and um you know it was the second half when they when they came out
02:41you
02:41know cleveland jumped right on them and they didn't know how to respond you know jd i think he could
02:48have
02:48changed the lineup and bought paul reed in a little bit a little bit fast you know more
02:52get ron holland off the bench do something that's slow god of a mention down after you hit the first
02:58couple buckets you got to do something you know i remember years ago when uh going to work pistons
03:04play cleveland and the series was slipping away from cleveland because we had the better team
03:09and mike brown just started picking guys off the bench here just go in there and do something and
03:15anderson very job was a difference you know i don't know if cleveland won that series or not but
03:20i do remember that you know he got to start using his bench more and it doesn't hurt doesn't you
03:26know
03:26it really don't hurt the fact that when you're getting 20 plus whistles and your whole team only
03:32got 12 foul shots as a team and one guy i think cleveland had like 34 34 foul shots you
03:40look at the
03:41three-pointer where james harden just threw something up that caught a foul that wasn't a
03:45foul okay cunningham throw his hands up in the air that wasn't a foul so you know it's pretty much
03:52the referees just called a game for cleveland and once they got on a once donovan mitchell got to go
03:58on
03:58you got to throw bodies at it you know make him earn it you can't just let him just get
04:04in the lane
04:05well he got in the lane way too easy yesterday i mean he hit a bunch of threes too but
04:09the yeah the
04:10rim runs were too easy you know who the first man off the bench in the third quarter was yesterday
04:15i don't know who was it was paul reid he did go to paul reid the first thing he did
04:20in the second
04:20half the first move he made was put paul reid in for jaylen duran now maybe he would have done
04:25it a
04:25couple minutes earlier but that was he did it at the 507 mark of the third quarter it was the
04:29first sub he
04:29made and then he just started i hate that you know ron holland and not only that you know marcus
04:35sasser is another great defender you gotta gotta use it he's probably not sasser's probably not
04:41gonna play here but i mean as far as you know having a quicker trigger if jaylen duran doesn't
04:48get back to impacting the game at least on the defensive end in quarter one of game five at home
04:56he might find himself on the bench for an extended period of time and and you know the question is
05:02what jd has been in this postseason can they win this series with 10 and 10 jaylen duran and not
05:0920 and 10 jaylen duran and i would argue yes yeah i think they have one of the first two
05:13games like
05:14that they can definitely win with jaylen duran playing 10 and 10 like you mentioned but you mentioned
05:19a lot of other guys that didn't play well yesterday those guys have had at least one game in the
05:25playoffs where they played really well jaylen duran has not okay one of his two rebounds
05:30yesterday by the way both were in the first quarter so he had zero rebounds after that was
05:34like off a free throw miss he's playing with zero energy i can't stress this enough it feels like his
05:41legs are done and he's like 20 years old you know it doesn't make any sense what he's become you
05:47mentioned the turnovers where he's trying to make these one-on-one moves dribbling off his foot
05:50it happens way too often now his dribble handoffs are lackadaisical and clear careless
05:55at times him and kate not be on the same page on that three-pointer pass like he's not even
05:59that's an easy jaylen duran play like where he just dunks it anytime he went anytime he went to
06:05the rim for 82 games there was a lob opportunity and he was aware of it and now he's not
06:10even looking
06:10well i mean on that play kate's wide open for it no but that's the right play it may or
06:16may not be
06:17i'm just saying kate passed up on a wide open three to try to do a no look pass to
06:22jd and jd wasn't ready
06:24for it and it's i think it's on both of them i think it's on jd someone that watched 82
06:28games
06:28jaylen duran is ready for that that's his whole game in the regular season i also wish that kate
06:33would have just taken a shot not because it resulted in a turnover because i think the shot
06:37was open it was there to be had um during at the very least the lob game rolling to the
06:44basket
06:45his radar was always up and i think that's an indicative play of the fact that he's in his own
06:51head
06:51right he is certainly not played in the playoffs the way he did in the regular season and he's
06:55only had one game in the playoffs it was even close it was a 15 and 15 game in game
07:00seven that's why i
07:02think that play was really significant because anytime he rolled to the basket in the regular
07:08season the lob was always in play and the fact that he wasn't even expecting a pass there
07:14um tells you that something has changed with him just from do you remember what the score was at that
07:19point because i think it was a double digit lead by cleveland
07:2514 kate pulls up there and rolls the basket kate feeds it right to him and he wasn't expecting it
07:30would have been an easy dunk is what i wrote and that was down 14 in the fourth so i
07:35can go find
07:35how much time was left if that's what you're wondering because i think that's again it's a
07:39time where they're trying to come back they may have already been down by 21 at that point
07:43they're whittling it down and okay three points looks great here
07:48yeah but the point is i understand he's not even paying attention well he it's not that
07:53three points looks great or not i think it's that he wasn't paying attention i think he's expecting
07:57kate to shoot the shot well of course he was but the point is i agree with doug he's always
08:02ready
08:02for the pass during the regular season always because that's what he does he catches lobs he
08:06catches rim runs yeah for that moment he didn't and it's not like kate passed about 10 pointer it's
08:11three points you get two you need two you need anything at that point but three pointers again
08:16it was if he was contested i totally would be on board but i think there's shared blame because it
08:21was completely wide open okay take that three point shot so even if he should have shot the ball
08:27and all regular season he shot the ball during rolling to the basket that's his game be aware i got
08:35it but i think there's that's why i asked you about the circumstances i shot they're down by 14 points
08:39they're just trying to come back i think you're looking for that extra spark from the three
08:43pointer as opposed to okay as i'm talking about durin and what what's wrong with durin the fact that
08:49he wasn't ready nothing to do with that the fact that he wasn't ready tells me he's disagree but
08:53that's fine alan southfield hi al hi hi doug and scott um i wanted to call first of all i
09:00wanted to
09:00talk about the uh the officiating um in in uh in this series and in and in the uh and
09:06in the
09:06toronto cleveland series because base what when i so i found both both of uh series and based on
09:13what i'm seeing is the officiating is is framing the home team and i think that's the reason why
09:18um cleveland is yet to win a road game if they didn't win a road game against toronto and they
09:24yet to win a road game uh uh against the uh uh against uh detroit and based and based on
09:31those
09:31observations i kind of agree with what cam carmen who's on 92.3 uh the fan in cleveland on his
09:38morning show is that the the pattern seems like the the officiating is favoring the home team and
09:45he he he felt and i feel the same way if this pattern continues this might fail with detroit
09:50to toy pistons if it comes to the game seven because they will have the home home court advantage
09:55well there is that thank you al uh let's go to daryl in detroit you're next on 90 someone hello
10:01daryl how you guys doing and at that point y'all talking about had during would have had that dunk
10:07they had to got down to six points 12 it was it was a 14 point game when that happened
10:14yeah anyway what i'm calling about is this the numbers don't lie here it is detroit shot 51
10:21made eight more field goals they shot 44 from three compared to 34 for cleveland and 43 for cleveland for
10:30the game and still lost they out really creaked out rebounded cleveland had the same amount of assists
10:38yeah but they but they turned the ball over 20 times and they committed 27 fouls that led to all
10:43those free throws for cleveland the free throw disparity and the turnovers are the difference in the game
