00:00This is a video many of you will relate to.
00:02Things are different.
00:03It just isn't fun anymore.
00:04Minecraft doesn't feel the same.
00:06Honestly, Minecraft has felt boring,
00:08but I want to find a way to change that to make it fun again.
00:11And by the end of the video,
00:12I'm going to be doing some things I've never tried before.
00:14So what better way to start off than something exhilarating?
00:20I actually started my channel making PvP tutorials and montages,
00:24and those were honestly some of the most fun times I've had playing this game.
00:27So surely playing a bit of it should bring back that feeling of fun.

00:36After an hour of PvP, I was definitely feeling energized,
00:39but I realized things were a little too easy.
00:42PvP is only fun to a certain point if there's no challenge.
00:45So I did what any series player would do
00:47and logged on to a server with professional players
00:49in hopes of finding a bit more of a challenge.
00:51And I'd say that's exactly what I found.
00:54I just keep popping.
00:55Bro, there's no way there are people this good now.
00:57And while yes, I did occasionally find success,
01:00most of the time, it went like this.

01:07And I'm dead.
01:10Fun, fun, fun stuff.
01:12Not that long ago, I said things were too easy.
01:15But now, this is just not fun anymore.
01:18Sure, I could practice more to eventually beat these players,
01:21but that would take too much time to be even worth it.
01:23So maybe PvP isn't going to help me find Minecraft fun again.
01:27So what's something else I could try?
01:30Yeah, this is what redstoners make.
01:33It's mostly a spiral.
01:34Redstone is something I've never been able to wrap my mind around.
01:37I mean, people have built little computers inside of Minecraft,
01:40all with this simple red thing.
01:42And some other things too, but...
01:44Today, I will not be building a computer,
01:46but instead of learning to make something much simpler
01:48from one of the greatest redstone teachers in the game.
01:51I started redstoning in 2011.
01:54So I've been doing it for quite a while, you could say.
01:58And to help you guys understand just how talented this guy is,
02:01he literally made the fastest elevator in Minecraft.
02:03And when I asked him how long it took to make...

02:06I started this about three hours ago.

02:10So now that I had my teacher ready, it was time to learn.
02:13So for a 3x3 door, you are left with a middle block.

02:58and we spent about an hour going over all the basic stuff,

03:01Even the basic stuff is a bit too much for me.
03:04And while eventually, I did complete the 3x3 door like I planned on...

03:09I'm not sure it was worth my brainpower to figure it all out.
03:11So maybe my definition of fun is less on the technical side,
03:15and more on the creative.

03:28Building is one of the fundamentals of Minecraft.
03:31And before I even bought the game,
03:33I used to only play creative on the demo version,
03:35where I would spend hours just building random stuff on Superflat.
03:39So maybe building something will light that spark again.

04:26So it's pretty obvious that neither of us are expert builders,
04:29and our creations may have sucked,
04:31but I think you can tell by our reactions we still had a good time.
04:34And I think the reason for that is with building,
04:37you have infinite creative freedom.
04:38With PvP and Redstone,
04:39it'll take some time and learning to feel comfortable even starting,
04:42but anyone can build something they're proud of at any level.
04:45So for that reason, building was definitely a relieving activity.
04:48But personally, I have the most fun doing something with a bit more action,
04:51and there's one more huge part of Minecraft that happens to have just that.
04:58So if you could say, like, what percent of people can do this jump?
05:03Um, 2,300 people have done it.
05:06Okay.
05:07Well, we're gonna be attempting to do that.
05:09Out of everything in this video,
05:11there hasn't really been anything I necessarily dislike doing.
05:14Each area has its ups and downs,
05:15but something I've never once found fun is parkour.
05:18From the amount of precise timing it takes,
05:20to the frustration from attempting a jump over and over,
05:23I've always found parkour to be the opposite of fun.
05:26But there's large communities of people who love it,
05:28so today, I've made it a goal to complete one particular jump.
05:31One jump so difficult,
05:32it's known as the single hardest jump in Minecraft.
05:35And you may be thinking,
05:36why am I attempting the hardest jump if I'm trying to have fun?
05:39Well, although it's not gonna be easy,
05:40my definition of fun includes a challenge,
05:42and since PvP and Redstone didn't quite do it for me,
05:45we're gonna see if completing this jump helps me find the fun in parkour.
05:48And luckily, my close friend knows just how to complete it.
05:51You're gonna have to go to your F3 screen, right?
05:53And on the far right, you can like,
05:55when you turn, let's start moving your head.
05:56On the left side, you can see the numbers.
05:59You have to go to zero.
06:00And then I'm gonna TPU to the exact corners,
06:02and you're gonna have to run straight doing a jam.
06:04A jam is where you hit the space bar and W twice.
06:07And you're gonna have to do a 45 degree turn.
06:09Then you also have to, oh yeah, I forgot all to mention,
06:11you also have to straight,
06:12so you have to hold W and A as well.
06:14With all these specific things in mind,
06:15it seems like there's a lot to keep track of,
06:18but I tried to attempt it.
06:20Dang it.
06:20It's mostly like, just about that angle.

06:23Do you see how my W and A are put in together
06:26while I also do 45?
06:28You also have to do that at the exact time.
06:29And I attempted it again and again.
06:32Oh my god.
06:33We even tried adding reference blocks at the perfect angles
06:36in order to have one successful jump.
06:38But no matter how many times I tried,
06:40I couldn't complete this one simple jump.

06:44Okay, so it is possible.
06:45At this point, I spent hours trying,
06:47and even though I got close a couple times,
06:50I really wasn't having fun now,
06:52and in fact, it was just infuriating at this point.
06:55The opposite of what I've been trying to find.
06:56And I've already tried PvP, Redstone, and building,
07:00yet still don't feel the same feeling,
07:01playing Minecraft many years ago.
07:04Which makes me realize something.
07:07Maybe the reason Minecraft was fun
07:08wasn't because of the actual game itself,
07:10but rather the period of time that we played it in.
07:13Back when we didn't need to worry about life.
07:15A time when having fun was the only thing we had on our mind.
07:18So what if I just tried an older version of the game?
07:20At first, it sounds like a crazy idea.
07:22There's just less features and overall more buggy.
07:25But I loaded up the version I first started on
07:27and invited some friends to start a world.

08:17simply from playing with friends
08:18and making memories together.
