00:24And then taking a bunch of the players as well.
00:29He is one of the most villainous characters in all of sports.
00:36Not just college sports.
00:37No, all of sports.
00:39And you go back to him being fired on the runway or whatever it was that happened at USC.
00:46Him being the jump-around coach, it just is bizarre.
00:54And I think he has, unless you were an Ole Miss fan,
00:58now you probably hate Lane Kiffin.

03:22football and here's where
03:24the SEC released a statement last

03:30professional athletes have been at
03:31the heart of the southeastern
03:33conference individuals who choose
03:34to leave college athletics sign
03:36professional playing contracts and
03:37compete professionally should not
03:39then be permitted to return to the
03:40college competition they are
03:42correct in that stance if you
03:46chose hey I'm going to forego my
03:49fifth year or because I've red
03:51shirted as a freshman I'm going to
03:53forego that season and go to the
03:56NFL I agree if you were a college
04:00athlete and you played as a freshman
04:02and you you used all of your
04:04eligibility through four then you
04:07were forced to go to the NFL that's
04:10where I have an issue with their
04:12statement I'm not saying I have an
04:13issue with that you know with with
04:15or without them coming back that's
04:18the problem I have with the
04:19statement that they put out but the
04:22issue is bigger than just well if
04:25they don't play for us they're going
04:26to play for somebody else and he makes
04:28it sound so easy he makes it sound
04:32like it's okay the problem I have with
04:37it is there's an individual in the LSU
04:42program unless they have a roster spot
04:45available that went through spring
04:49football winter conditioning spring
04:50football summer conditioning fall camp
04:53and now because they're going to add
04:57this tight end from the Cleveland
04:59Browns they have to get to 105 and
05:03now all of a sudden I'm going to tell
05:04a kid that's done all of that you
05:07can't play for us anymore we're cutting
05:09you because we want to take this extra
05:11individual thank you for you know
05:14putting in all the work but we're
05:17moving on from you right before the
05:19school year starts right before you
05:22know the football season starts
05:24you're just not that important to us
05:26so we're moving on that's harsh but
05:29what's what what but it's it's what
05:31happens in pro sports and now college
05:34is what else is harsh what else is
05:35harsh the fact that okay the NCAA made
05:38a rule change and I'm sorry but you're
05:43playing for an NFL team we have to draw a
05:47line in the sand and it doesn't cover
05:50you I'm sorry it just it doesn't John I

05:55declare you have declared the end of
05:57your college time that is not the rule
06:00right the rule allows the rule well but
06:03the current rule says Cleveland Browns
06:05tight end can catch passes two weeks
06:07from now on a college football field
06:08that's the rule no that's what the
06:09injunction says that is the current
06:11ruling right so if they kick him off the
06:15team kick him off the team but if I'm
06:17the code like Lane is simply just saying
06:20I'm following the rules and and if I
06:23don't have him catch passes for me he's
06:25going to catch passes against me I
06:27understand it so my issue is not
06:29necessarily with Lane it's like okay I
06:32can dislike the guy could dislike
06:33everything he's done and the issue isn't
06:36necessarily with him the issue is with
06:39everything that is going on in college
06:41football some I like some I have to
06:44accept I just I choose not to want to
06:47accept the fact that this is now the
06:52injunction that is making it a part of
06:55the rule so and I listened to a little
06:57more than what we played from Lane and
06:59he said if it was up to him he doesn't
07:02think players should come down from the
07:04NFL but this is a very specific as he
07:07explains it situation this shouldn't be
07:09happening every year these are players
07:11that unknowingly forfeited a year they
07:14didn't know they still had it's how he
07:17knows they didn't unknowingly forfeited
07:19because at the time they didn't have
07:21this option right and they they made this
07:24rule after that so that's the point they
07:26didn't know this rule was coming so they
07:28didn't know they would still have a fifth
07:29year so would you have signed up to be a
07:31practice squad player or would you have
07:34come back it's a decision they weren't
07:35allowed or able to make because the rule
07:37didn't exist that that's how he's
07:40justifying in his brain right is well I
07:43wouldn't do this every year for every
07:44player but if a guy only played three or
07:46four years of college football and
07:48everybody else gets five and now he has
07:50to rot we'll take him back if you let us
07:52you'll let us we'll do it otherwise
07:54Mississippi State's gonna have him catch
07:55a touchdown in the Egg Bowl I don't
07:57want to deal with that so as a
07:58competitor well he will no longer be
08:00coaching in the Egg Bowl oh excuse me

08:09team he'll catch a touchdown for Texas
08:10or Oklahoma or Georgia or Alabama
