00:01Hello Bali Interiors, my name is Anthony. Welcome to Casa Luna. Come and take a peek in my paradise.
00:19So my name is Anthony. I have been in Bali for two years. This is our second home in Bali.
00:26When we first came to see this home, it's an existing property.
00:30We were blown away by the location, by the amount of ara.
00:35It's got 20 ara on site in central Tumbuk Bayou, just north of Canggu.
00:41And to really bring nature back into this building, a bit like a modern, traditional Bohemian beach house.
00:48So we found probably, we think, an amazing designer, Chloe and her team at Paradise Road Design.
00:53And they came in and really brought our vision to life.
00:58Let me show you the kitchen.
01:05So we actually took out doors here because we wanted this kitchen to really flow and blend and be light
01:12and airy.
01:13And actually be a room that can be used for more than just cooking.
01:16We added these doors out onto the pool patio terrace.
01:20Lovely transition between kitchen and a breakfast area outside by the pool.
01:25We love to have a nice airy kitchen, which people can use and you can socialise as some cooking is
01:32being done.
01:35And actually this Tekka Cooker is a great little feature for the house because it's a great piece of technology.
01:43It cooks food really well.
01:45And I love this island as a whole because it brings people together over food.
01:50So welcome to the living dining room area.
01:58This is my favourite room in the house.
02:01It actually is all about bringing people together.
02:04We had a bit of fun with some of the fabrics here, bringing some of the greens in the garden
02:08into the area.
02:10A custom made brass lighting.
02:12We really wanted to get the lighting right in this house.
02:15And the huge mirror behind me, that's about reflecting the garden and actually bringing that nature right into somewhere where
02:23you socialise and connect with people as well.
02:34So this is my favourite room in the house, the living dining area.
02:39It's actually, I think, the heart of the entire villa, brings it all together.
02:43This area, which is a great area to relax, to read a book, to watch TV.
02:50With our design team at Paradise Road, we went to some specialist antique dealers across the island of Bali.
02:58So this bee artwork is really, really special to us actually.
03:02These two bee prints actually, they remind us of the, well, the great things that bees do.
03:08But also they remind us of the garden just next door.
03:10So Casa Luna is a four bedroom villa.
03:13And let's go and look at one of the guest bedrooms.
03:24So this is our really cosy guest room.
03:28It's about relaxation and calm and neutral colours.
03:31But a bit of fun actually in some of these rugs we chose across Bali as well.
03:36So the haveea bedding and linen across the villa is a real favourite.
03:41It feels really beautiful on the skin.
03:43It gives a great night's sleep.
03:45And this is about real relaxation.
03:47So I think this bathroom really flows from the bedroom.
03:51I love the feel of it.
03:52It's so light and airy and just extends right into the garden.
03:56I really like the finish of this local white marble.
04:01And this is a really favourite piece of mine in the house.
04:04Again, it's an antique.
04:05It's a Javanese bed head.
04:07And we think it's about a century old.
04:09So it's again bringing that old and new together into somewhere like this.
04:23So let me show you the TV room.
04:26I really like how it's a little bit of its own sanctuary.
04:30It's brilliant actually in the Balinese rainy season.
04:33Because when it's raining outside you can feel and hear the rain.
04:37And watching the TV with a blanket around you, it's really, really cosy.
04:41You'll see again we've brought nature front and centre into this room.
04:46So we got a really amazing, talented local artist.
04:50Just reminding us on the island we're in and how grateful we are to be here.
04:53So welcome to the master bedroom.
04:56Really important room in our house.
04:59We moved it so it was so parallel front and centre with the pool and the outside area.
05:04It's a super king size bed.
05:05It's really, really comfortable.
05:07Again, this organic linen is super to sleep in and really nice and comfy.
05:12This mat we found in a dealership in Bali and just really fell in love with the colours.
05:18Loved the fun, Aztec design nature of it.
05:21So with our design team really designed it around this rug in mind and it works really well.
05:31So guys, come with me now to the wellness spa area.
05:36This is my favourite room in the creme de la creme of the villa.
05:39A whole new structure onto this refurbishment.
05:53So welcome to our health and wellness spa at home.
05:57Our very own little paradise.
05:59This is actually a much bigger space now because we undertook a huge extension here with a roof light deliberately.
06:08So this used to be an open bathroom.
06:11So we did a lot of construction around here just to really give this a real palatial, open, relaxed feeling
06:18with lots of room.
06:19This is all about relaxation, feeling good, feeling inspired.
06:25Sauna and ice baths are really, really important to us.
06:28I use it every other day for 30 to 40 minutes and feel really good for it.
06:32One great feature is this huge onyx crystal bath.
06:37I'm six foot one and I can actually fit in it.
06:40So I can actually have an own bath, which is great.
06:43And actually at night with some candles, having a bath, looking at the stars and the roof light.
06:49It really doesn't get better than that in Bali.
07:07So welcome to the pool deck area.
07:10We actually did a bit of construction by the pool.
07:13We simplified the contours and the lines around the pool.
07:17There were some steps leading into that pool.
07:19We use this space every day.
07:21We have a breakfast terraced area on the other side of the pool there.
07:25And that is a superb area for a morning coffee, watching the sunrise at about 6.30, 7am every day.
07:33You can't beat it.
07:40So here we are in the garden guest cottages.
07:43As I said, we installed this decking really so there was a beautiful, smooth transition right into the garden.
07:50So we're now going to take you into one of the cottages.
07:53We really wanted to play and have some fun with some of the colours here.
07:57It just gives it that really opulent feel, but a bit playful as well.
08:02Now let's go into the bathroom.
08:05So this is the guest bathroom and we did quite a lot of alterations here.
08:10This was all open, so we wanted to close it up, but not close it up to nature too much.
08:15So this glazing was really, really important.
08:18Number one, easy access for our guests if they wanted some real fresh air.
08:22We really like the playful nature of the mirror.
08:25So it's like a moon shaped, you know, Casa Luna and it plays on that theme.
08:32And also these Roman baths.
08:34So the bath stroke shower, we really extended the size of the shower.
08:38We like big showers and our guests like that as well.
08:42But we wanted the idea of having a playful bath as well, especially if our guests have kids here as
08:48well.
08:48So it works really well.
09:02So welcome to the gazebo in the garden.
09:05It's all made from natural material.
09:07The workmanship and craftsmanship involved, we've been so impressed with.
09:12It's absolutely beautiful finish.
09:14We use this as a platform viewing space for the garden.
09:17So for massage, for yoga, for meditation, or just having a quiet moment sometimes in the shade.
09:25So let me show you the garden, which is the real center point, center focus of this house.
09:31It's a 20 hour site.
09:33And actually you can see why when you walk around this garden, it really was a thing of beauty.
09:39And what we wanted to do was enhance all of the plant life here.
09:44So we worked in conjunction with Samara Landscape in Lombok, who were absolutely brilliant in designing us.
09:53Basically an incredible garden that really came to life.
09:56If the bees and butterflies are happy, then we're happy.
09:59And I think they've met that brief pretty well because there's bees and butterflies everywhere here.
10:07What we did with our bees.
10:10So we put some beehives in just to really bring that beautiful frequency into the garden and to really bring
10:16this garden to life.
10:18There's a little herb garden here.
10:20Everything you see here is edible.
10:22So we can bring this straight from the garden into the kitchen to cook.
10:27So this was about bringing so much more plant life as colorful as possible into the garden.
10:33And really make it a beautiful place to spend time in.
