00:00has allocated a historic £39 billion to social and affordable housing through our Social and
00:06Affordable Homes programme. Today we're allocating the first wave of funding from that programme,
00:11so £9.5 billion outside London for housing associations, councils, other providers to
00:18get building. That will deliver 73,000 homes. London's also allocating just over £6 billion,
00:25half of which is going to councils. So this is delivery, delivery on social and affordable
00:30housing getting going, councils getting more share of that funding.
