00:00Let's just start with the Home Office data that we've had today on the small boats.
00:04Is this really evidence that this deal with the French is working, given that so many,
00:09so often, the French authorities aren't in a position to intervene?
00:12Is there a target for the percentage of boat crossings that you're wanting to stop?
00:16Well the plan being delivered by the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is delivering results.
00:21We've prevented more than 46,000 crossings over the past two years.
00:25We've returned over 80,000 people, the highest level since 2010.
00:31And our new deal with France, which is based on a payment by results model, is bearing fruit.
00:36The French authorities prevented 185 crossings over the past three months.
00:41So lots more to do.
00:42We know we've got an enormous task in front of us, but the plan is working and we're going
00:46to follow through and deliver on it.
00:47Any targets for how much percentage of crossings you want to?
00:50We've got to bring the crossings right down.
00:52We're absolutely determined to do that.
00:53The 46,000 crossings we've prevented over the past two years are evidence that the plan
00:58is working, but there's an enormous amount still to do.
