00:00Absolutely accept that small boat numbers have gone up overall, although we are heading
00:04for what looks like the quietest August since 2020. But we inherited a broken immigration
00:10and asylum system. We were never going to be able to fix it overnight. But as I've said,
00:15we are making tangible progress and that is evidenced by things like, for example, the
00:19fact that we've deported over 35,000 individuals with no right to be here. That's a 12% increase
00:24year on year. The fact that we've got this ambitious pilot scheme up and running with
00:28the French asylum seekers have already been detained under it and we'll see removals to
00:32France in the coming weeks. So I appreciate why people want to see more rapid change.
00:37We want to see more rapid change, but the measures we're taking are having an impact and we'll
00:41work over the medium to long term.
