Marcos urged other hospitals to establish no copayment policy

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. encourages other private hospitals to 'embrace the no co-payment policy' to ensure more Filipinos can access quality healthcare. Speaking at the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) signing of their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at SLMC on Aug. 25, 2026, Marcos urged the removal of barriers in accessing the assistance they need. Under the No Co-Payment Policy, qualified patients admitted in basic or ward accommodations in government and some public hospitals—and now in SLMC—will leave the hospital with a zero billing balance after PhilHealth and government medical funds are applied.
