President Donald Trump turned an interruption at his Myrtle Beach rally into a moment while campaigning for Darline Graham ahead of Tuesday’s South Carolina Senate runoff.
A protester interrupted Trump around 7:28 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and was escorted out by police. As the person was being removed, Trump paused and responded, “That’s all right. That person’s going home to mom. Gonna get scolded because mom is voting for us. You know, mom is voting for us.”
Trump then returned to his campaign message, urging Republicans to support Graham. “If Trump isn’t actually on the ballot,” he said, before asking supporters to “pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot.”
He added, “Just come and vote. It’s so important,” and later said, “So, just say that I’m on the ballot one more time. You got to say it, and you got to come out and vote.”
Trump also praised Graham as a strong supporter of the military, while Graham thanked him for his endorsement and friendship with her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham, and conservative priorities in Washington.
