00:33Humiliated by the Cyrenian Hind incident, Eurystheus sent Heracles to capture the Aromanthian
00:38boar, a large and aggressive creature that resided on the mountain of Erymanthus.
00:44The creature was immensely heavy, and Eurystheus, once again underestimating Heracles' strength,
00:50assumed that even if he did manage to kill the creature, he would have a hard time dragging
00:55it all the way back to Tyrennes.
00:58Heracles visited his old-time friend and teacher, Chiron, to seek his advice.
01:03There, Chiron told him that if he lured the boar into thick snow, he'd be able to capture
01:09it.
01:10On his way to the mountain, Heracles visited another centaur friend, Phyllis, who welcomed
01:16him with food and strong wine.
01:17The scent of the wine attracted other centaurs to Phyllis' cave, and unaware that the wine
01:23was supposed to be diluted, before being drunk, the centaurs became intoxicated, and attacked
01:29Heracles.
01:30The hero killed many of his attackers, while the rest fled to Chiron's cave for safety.
01:37Phyllis, wondering why the arrows were so deadly, picked one up, out of curiosity.
01:42But the arrow accidentally fell, piercing his hoof in the process, the poison killing him.
01:49Aggrieved, Heracles buried his friend, and not wasting time any further, he set out to
01:55find the Aromanthian boar.
01:58Following Chiron's advice, he lured the animal into thick snow, where it struggled and struggled,
02:04till it got tired.
02:05Easily flipping the heavy creature over his shoulders, Heracles carried it to Tyrennes.
02:11Just as Eurystheus saw the boar, the terrified king ran into a large jar, screaming for Heracles
02:17to take the creature away.
02:20After taking the boar back to its home, the hero presented himself once again before the
02:24king, ready to be assigned his fifth task.
