00:10In Greek mythology, ichor was the ethereal and divine fluid that flowed through the veins of gods and immortals.
00:18Ichor was literally the blood of the gods and is said to be made of a mixture of ambrosia and
00:24nectar which are commonly known as the food of the gods.
00:27Other accounts say ichor is the mixture of golden honey, nectar and ambrosia.
00:34The exact color of ichor is not certain.
00:37Some accounts say it has a golden color, others say it is blue in color, while few others say it
00:44is white in color.
00:46This wonderful, magical substance was believed to be toxic to mortals, it is extremely poisonous to any human who comes
00:55in contact with it,
00:56killing them instantly.
00:58Yet, this substance was the very life force of the gods, and the gods couldn't survive without it.
01:05However, the gods and titans seldom bled, so mortals never or hardly ever saw the ichor.
01:12But in few situations when a god is attacked and injured by a powerful monster, demigod, titan, hero, or even
01:21another god, the godly victim would surely bleed ichor.
01:25The Greek gods were known to always engage in a never-ending power tussle with the Greek titans and giants,
01:33and were also known to subdue and abuse mortals, which mighty heroes rose and gallantly fought against.
01:40Whenever these formidable powers clashed, ichor freely flowed.
01:46The most famous myth about ichor is the story of Talos, the bronze titan of ancient Crete that was crafted
01:53by Hephaestus, or in some stories, Daedalus the father of Icarus, at the request of Zeus to protect his daughter
02:02Europa.
02:03Talos was solely made of ichor and bronze.
02:06He was ichor itself with bronze coating.
02:10He had ichor running through a single vein in his body.
02:13The great Talos was defeated during a clash with Jason and the Argonauts who came to acquire the Golden Fleece.
02:21During the battle, Medea the sorceress wife of Jason, cajoled Talos and removed the nail that controlled the ichor that
02:29flowed through him, thus, draining him.
02:32And Talos succumbed to death.
02:34The Greek gods were not the only beings who had ichor running in their veins.
02:41Vampires, Nosferatu, fairies, demigods, and half demons also have ichor running through their veins instead of mortal blood.
02:50And that's all about ichor.
