00:00As I was reading Mike Reese's story this morning about Seattle having less turnover on their roster
00:06than the Patriots having on their roster from a year ago, and also there's a lot of ties between
00:13Seattle and New England right now. We know that they played each other in the Super Bowl.
00:19We know the Patriots got their ass handed to them in that game. We know that Seattle
00:24was in year two of a head coach who was hired at the same time Gerard Mayo was hired.
00:32Two defensive-minded head coaches hired in the same offseason, which was notable at the time.
00:38That was noted at the time. A season later, they meet in the Super Bowl.
00:42The Patriots with a new head coach, also a defensive-minded head coach, which is interesting and notable.
00:49And obviously this summer, Devin Witherspoon's contract situation and Christian Gonzalez's contract situation
00:56have run parallel to each other and are directly connected by their agent.
01:02In addition to that, the Seattle Seahawks this offseason paid Jackson Smith and Jigba the largest receiver contract in history.
01:11They then topped it with the largest cornerback contract in history.
01:15And they did those things as defending Super Bowl champions.
01:19And they look primed to go on another run in 2026.
01:25Which team's doing it better right now?
01:27The team that won the Super Bowl, that got their head coaching hiring right in 2024,
01:34and is now going into year three of a program, looking like they're primed to be a contender every year.
01:41The team that got the contract done, not only with the receiver, but got the contract done with the corner.
01:51And really without a lot of trouble.
01:53The player came into camp.
01:55The player practiced hard.
01:57The player said, it's going to get resolved.
01:59I'm focused on winning and winning games.
02:04Or is it the Patriots at this moment in time who have a quarterback, one of the best in the
02:11league, on a rookie deal?
02:13Which team is operating and getting it right right now?
02:18The team that, oh, I mean, can look at the scoreboard and say, we won the Super Bowl.
02:22You didn't.
02:24In year two of their head coach or this team, which franchise?
02:28And by the way, you're missing a major fact.
02:30By the way, that team out in Seattle is in the process of getting sold.
02:35And that team in Seattle that is being sold and hasn't processed yet, right?
02:42It's not completed.
02:42Right.
02:44Had no problem ponying up the money and taking the guarantees in the deal, which must then be placed in
02:51escrow.
