00:00So, I wanted to tell you, the five teams in the NFL, I think, are the worst.
00:08Like, this is not the reverse AFC power rankings,
00:11and this is not even, like, specific to, not entirely specific to the current roster.
00:19But the Giants are definitely one of the five.
00:23The Giants have not been good in so long.
00:27They had a fluke year like the Bills had in 2017 where they weren't good at all,
00:31but they made the playoffs.
00:33They even won a game in that year, winning in Minnesota.
00:36But then they got crushed and they were exposed.
00:38Like, that's Brian Dable, Coach of the Year.
00:40Great job.
00:40I mean, just, it's like the PDO Jack Adams winners in hockey.
00:44You know, great.
00:45But it's not really that good.
00:47So, the Giants have, when was the last time the Giants, even, actually,
00:52I don't want to try this hard, but even the Super Bowl teams with Eli Manning
00:56were, like, they tended to be okay teams that got rolling in the playoffs, perfect timing.
01:03Those were not dominant teams.
01:06Like, the Giants have had a couple of those over the years.
01:08Giants are on the list.
01:09No particular order here.
01:10The Arizona Cardinals have to be on the list.
01:13Like, the top five donkey teams in the league.
01:16Arizona.
01:18What are they doing?
01:19I mean, it's another new coach.
01:21The quarterback situation is what exactly?
01:24Jacoby Brissett, or maybe it'll be Carson Beck.
01:26They drafted Carson Beck, but I don't know how good he's actually supposed to be.
01:31Arizona, plus their history, Arizona for sure.
01:34Giants, Cardinals.
01:36The Jets can't be left off a list like this.
01:41I mean, this, again, is a point about how much fun the Bills have been, even though they
01:46haven't beaten Kansas City in the playoffs, you know?
01:49Even though they haven't made it, it's still been mostly really exciting and fun and good.
01:55The Giants, the Cardinals, the Jets, the Jets might be the worst of all of them.
02:01They're never good.
02:03It's the longest playoff drought in the league, 2010 or 2011.
02:07One of those is the last team they were in the playoffs.
02:10Last year, they were in the playoffs.
02:12It's always kind of embarrassing, too, with the Jets.
02:16The owners' grades before the league was able to strong-arm their way into keeping those private,
02:23which, you know, thanks.
02:25And his kids using Madden ratings to make help on personnel decisions.
02:31I mean, come on.
02:32The Jets, the Giants and the Jets, take pride in this.
02:36The Giants and the Jets, New York, quote New York teams, for many years, I would say,
02:43are two of the five most embarrassing NFL teams, if that's not too strong.
02:50Giants, Cardinals, Jets.
02:51Now I need two more.
02:55And it's a little bit tougher.
02:56I feel like there's a tear break here because those three, I think, cannot be left off.
03:00I'm going Carolina.
03:03Carolina, a defending division champion, but I'm going with Carolina because, right, in
03:14this game on Saturday, Bryce Young, first overall pick.
03:17That's going nowhere.
03:19The coach is kind of cool for what he's been able to do, Baker Mayfield and back in Seattle,
03:24Geno Smith in Seattle.
03:25Like, he seems maybe capable.
03:28But I think I'm staying on the spot that Carolina is in really bad shape for this year.
03:36And I think Young might be the worst starting quarterback in the league.
03:40They're going to try with Jonathan Brooks.
03:42We just had Carolina.
03:43I'm not going to go deep on them.
03:44But to me, they make the list.
03:46Then I need one more.
03:49And part of how I started thinking about this was that the Bills are going to Cleveland.
03:55And poor Cleveland.
03:57I'm going with Miami, though.
03:59Miami's the number five team on this list of five teams.
04:02I'm not saying Cleveland.
04:03I think Cleveland has been, I know, don't laugh.
04:07I think Cleveland has been largely unlucky.
04:11I think it was an ownership-driven decision mandate with what happened with Watson.
04:20And that, you know, that the Bills suffered from some of that over many years.
04:25But it's not quite the same to me as when you're just kind of always bad and it sort of
04:35makes sense that you're bad.
04:36To me, the Browns might have to be the honorable mention on a list like this.
04:41But I just don't want to give them my vote.
04:44I feel like the Watson thing could have worked out and the whole controversy about it as the Bills go
04:52to Cleveland today and practice with the Browns tomorrow.
04:54I'm sure we'll be hearing about Watson and, you know, what happens there tomorrow.
04:59But the controversy about it, of course, was his off-the-field transgressions, not to put it too mildly.
05:08Not necessarily what kind of player he still was.
05:12It turns out that he's such damaged goods.
05:15And, you know, if that changes, that'll be kind of a miracle at this point, I think.
05:20But such damaged goods that I'm not sure I want to blame the Browns for that.
05:26I think you can, and everybody has, blame them for the decision to invest in Watson as a person and
05:35as a face of the franchise.
05:36The fact that his playing ability has so suffered and then a couple of bad injuries, I think his shoulder
05:44might be shot.
05:44You've got torn Achilles maybe two times.
05:47I just think they've run up against a little more than they deserved, the Browns.
05:53And the Browns, by the way, have had some great players.
05:58Chubb at running back, Miles Garrett, Wyatt Teller.
06:01Like, the Browns have had some great players.
06:04There's Mayfield is one where that could have worked, but Mayfield was banged up.
06:11And this is where, really, their lack of stability helps to undermine them.
06:16So the Browns are a fine, you know, a fair choice for the top five donkey franchises.
06:23But I'm going with Miami instead.
06:26Miami is what, as a franchise?
06:29Last time they won a playoff game was the year 2000.
06:34And that was a pretty rich history up until that point.
06:38The Dolphins owned the Bills in the 70s.
06:41And even if the Bills kind of owned them back, it wasn't because Miami was what the Bills were in
06:46the 70s.
06:47Miami was mostly good in those years.
06:49But they couldn't break, they couldn't crack the Bills, like 92 in the AFC Championship.
06:55And then it's Don Shula, Jimmy Johnson, Hall of Fame coaches.
06:58And since then, they've just been this mostly kind of middling, screwed up team situation.
07:09Just, you know, the Brian Flores stuff.
07:12They haven't really had, too often at least, I mean, Tua was this, but too often, like the high draft
07:19pick quarterback that made sense.
07:21Miami hasn't done a lot.
07:23They're sort of like the drought Bills in this way, where they just kind of tried to patch it together.
07:27So Miami makes my list, the Browns don't.
07:30And it's not even, I don't think I did that great a job of, like, exactly specifying what the criteria
07:38were for this.
07:39But I just wanted to find, like, how close do the New York Giants come to being, like, the worst
07:45franchise in the league?
07:47Pretty close.
07:49And maybe John Harbaugh fixes that, but I doubt it.
07:52I just think there's just too much.
07:54Last night on our podcast, the conversation turned to, do these new coaches, having never really drafted him or seen
08:01him before, know what Cam Scadaboo kind of is as a runner?
08:04Like, of course they don't.
08:06Easy for me to say.
08:07Of course they don't.
08:08They just know him.
08:09He does backflips that don't turn out.
08:12He seems like kind of a nut.
08:13Gets hurt.
08:14I'm not sure what they think they have in him.
08:16Just one example.
08:17So there it is.
08:19Just what you wanted.
08:20My five, my donkey list.
08:22I'll see you next.
