00:00At 23, I was heading home from work one day outside Mount Vernon, Illinois, and I fell asleep driving home.
00:09I swirled with the oncoming lane, and I hit a man head on.
00:14Now, I don't remember the car wreck itself. I just know from what everybody told me, you know.
00:21I actually woke up like a couple weeks later in the hospital.
00:25The man I hit, he was ejected from the vehicle. He about 40 feet.
00:30And he was 69 years old, and it's something I think about every day.
00:35It's something, if I could take something, if I could take anything back, I would take his life back, obviously.
00:40In the car wreck, basically, the front end of the car came in.
00:45My face hit the steering wheel that had to cut me out of the car.
00:49It just destroyed, basically destroyed my face, obviously.
00:54So everything came forward, like the internal of the car, like the motor, the motor mounts.
01:04I swirled with the oncoming lane, and I hit a man head on.
