00:05They have really shaken Germany to the core because Germany actually has state elections later on this year in September.

00:22You see Volkswagen there set to shut up to four German factories.
00:27That could be a further 100,000 jobs going.
00:30And so it leaves the Conservative German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a very weak position indeed.
00:36In fact, just 13% of the country is satisfied with his work.
00:4185% not happy with the German Chancellor.
00:45That is an extraordinary level of dissatisfaction.

03:07In terms of the national polling, you can see here that AFD have extended their lead again to 28%.
03:15The Union, the Conservatives are on 20% and the SPD, Social Democrats have been overtaken by the Greens and
03:22now level with the left party.
03:24But in terms of elections due to take place in September of this year, you can see here in Saxony,
03:31Arnholt,
03:32the AFD, who, of course, other parties have frozen out completely.
03:36They've been accused of being beyond the pale, extremist, that other parties won't work with them.
03:41Well, they're on 42% in this particular part of Germany, with the CDU Conservatives way behind on 22%.
03:49And what that means is, as the AFD co-leader, Alice Weedle, says there, that single party government is drawing
03:56nearer.
03:57Because that sort of result could mean that AFD could take power there without an alliance, potentially.
04:04We'll have to wait and see.
04:06But in another part of Germany, you can see there in Mecklenburg for Parmen, you can see the AFD also
04:13leading there.
04:14Seven point lead, the Social Democrats second there.
04:18A functioning of Germany would have its own strong value, which ensures that this of the people's wealth of work
04:29in the country remains and remains its value.
04:33It would have a own unabashed central bank, a government bank, which would not allow it, that the politics of
