00:00I've been waiting to talk to you about this because at Betbash, I was told something that
00:04I couldn't believe. I was told that the internal conversations at Circa for Survivor are putting
00:12their projections at $27 million for Circa Survivor. Is that accurate?
00:19You know, not being privy to those internal conversations, but having had a few side
00:25conversations with a few folks myself, I heard the over 25 is a real possibility. And one guy even
00:35said 30 is not out of the realm of possibility. So I believe that the 27 number is probably correct
00:44and you're reporting on that. Yeah. I was going to say, I had spoke to someone high up enough that
00:54they were part of those conversations when they were had behind closed doors.
00:58So I was sitting there getting dunked out in front of Circa for Betbash and for the fundraiser that
01:06Spanky was putting on. And so I'm just standing there and a guy walks up to me and he just
01:10let
01:11him be nameless. But I'm having this conversation with him and he's like, do you know what I was
01:16just told by so-and-so at Circa? I said, no. He said, well, they're projecting $27 million.
01:23Like, I mean, like projecting? He goes, yeah, they're projecting, not guessing. They are projecting
01:29$27 million in that prize pool. That's, is that stunning to you?
01:36It is stunning. It is stunning, but not when you consider that they're currently on about a 50%
01:41pace above where they were last year, you know, 45, 50%. They're there. Plus what I realized,
01:47you know, we've been comparing the numbers from when they start to where they are current day.
01:51Yeah. This year is different because of Labor Day's pushback. We get a whole extra week of signups
01:56that we didn't have last year. So that is going to goose the number right at the end of the
02:01season.
02:02And I don't know if you remember two years ago when it went from like 9,000 to 14,000
02:08over the last
02:09week, all those people jumped in. And it was like, I was out in a book doing a picks for
02:14the Thursday
02:15night game. And I came back, you know, and on Friday night work, and I came back on Saturday
02:19and I was like, holy crap, where did 4,000 entries come in? You know, whatever it was.
02:25But let me remember accurately though, because wasn't that because there was the potential for
02:30the overlay and the poker guys got involved with that late. And that's why the push came in so late.
02:36It could be, but the push was so great that it went over by, you know, ways. Yeah. I can
02:44feel that
02:44happening this year as well, because, you know, the number between their guarantee and what they
02:49had last year is one, you know, 1,300. So where are we? In one day. Right. So where are
02:56we?
02:56Yeah. Today we are 8,482.
03:028,482. This time last year, where were we?
03:05So I went back in my photo catalog and I only had a photo on August 12th. So that would
03:11be
03:11Tuesday of this week. So on Tuesday of this week, we were at last year, 5430. And this year we
03:20were
03:20at 79.90, which is about 47% ahead. Do you think this pace continues?
03:29You know, I kind of do because think about contest weekend, you know, that's still yet to come.
03:35And then Labor Day and then, you know, the first week of the season, I kind of see it. You
03:41know,
03:41I had previously said 22, maybe 23. I can believe the 25 number now, you know, we're this strong,
03:49this far into the season. And like I told folks in my email, I sent out to them about two
03:55weeks ago,
03:56I said, look, only 20% of the entries are in. There's 80% still to come. And that's just
04:01the
04:01way it works out. Okay. So if we're at 50% here for Survivor or 45% for Survivor, how
04:08are we doing
04:10with millions? Are we still kind of flat? Or are we any, are we up at all?
04:15As of Wednesday of this week, we're actually down a little bit.

04:22A little behind pace. Last year on, on actually Tuesday, August 12th, 1738.
04:33Tuesday of this week, we were at 1648, down about 5%. Now, I'm not that concerned about it just yet.
04:40I still believe it's going to come in where it was last year, 5,700, 5,800. I don't think
04:45they
04:45make the 6 million. I think there will be an overlay. I don't, I don't see it dropping off below
04:51the number they got. I think this is just a dip. And I think when, again, talk of the overlay,
04:57we'll drive money into the contest at the end, which will make up, at least put us back to where
05:02we were last year, I believe.
