In the middle of a small Dutch town stands an abandoned store that looks as if everyone simply walked away one day. Behind its locked doors, hundreds of shoes are still sitting exactly where they were left more than a decade ago. 👞🇳🇱
Getting inside takes us through a narrow alley between the abandoned shop and an active neighboring business. But once inside, the scale of what was left behind becomes almost impossible to comprehend.
But while everything inside was slowly being consumed by mold and decay, a much larger debate was unfolding outside these walls.
