00:01It's the latest round of industrial action from the Maritime Union which has been locked
00:06in a dispute over pay and conditions with River City ferries since October last year.
00:11At 9 o'clock this morning ferries came to a stop at the nearest terminal and passengers
00:16were asked to disembark before workers downed tools and walked off the job.
00:20Services were due to resume at 11 before another stoppage this afternoon between 4 and 6.
00:26It's at least the fourth time union members have taken this kind of industrial action
00:31in the past few weeks including on Saturday afternoon where ferries didn't run for 4 hours
00:36causing a bit of disruption to weekend plans.
00:39The union says it's been left with no choice and is accusing River City ferries of failing
00:44to take on board member concerns like fatigue and work-life balance.
00:49The company in response says it's put a fair and reasonable revised offer on the table and
00:54is disappointed to see further disruptions to services.
00:58Commuters are today being asked to plan their journeys well in advance and consider alternative
