00:00Pacific Air Show on the Gold Coast from near heights here in Surfers Paradise.
00:05If you're lucky enough to own an apartment in one of these beachside high-rises,
00:10then you have got the most awesome view of the Pacific Air Show.
00:15So we're very lucky to be in a friend's apartment at the moment.
00:18And from here, we've got a bird's eye view of the centre of the Pacific Air Show.
00:22So if you can see down here on the beach, this area is sort of right in front of us
00:27here.
00:27Now, this is the free area where, so, you know, locals, visitors, anyone can just set up their towel,
00:33their tent, their beach hut, whatever, and watch the planes going past.
00:37Then that fence line there, just this side of that red tractor, that's where the ticketed area starts.
00:43And from there, you might see a mass of people, and that's show centre zone right down that way.
00:51So look, the view from up here, and then obviously this is the street level here.
00:55So you can see that the Pacific Air Show takes probably more over a kilometre, really, of this beach front
01:02here.
01:03And that's obviously where they've done the build.
01:05And you can maybe see a little bit of the white chalets and cabanas down there as well.
01:09And Carville Avenue is down there a little bit further.
01:13But, oh, look, it's just, I tell you what, we've just been watching these big planes coming past.
01:17And the view is incredible.
01:20I mean, I do say that in show centre zone, you will get the commentary and the music,
01:24and the planes will do a lot of their really good manoeuvres in that concentrated bit.
01:30But when you're up here, the planes, they need a long loop to do their turns.
01:38So even if they're sort of concentrated there, they will still just do these massive loops along here.
01:46And as they're doing their loops, they're turning, they're rolling, especially the aerobatic planes.
01:52And they're pretty much eye level.
01:55And we've got that Scout helicopter at the moment.
01:57And that Scout helicopter is actually making sure the airway is all clear for what I think I can see
02:03in the distance.
02:04And that is the Globemaster heading our way.

06:56Well, that was an absolutely magnificent sight to see that Globemaster
07:00I was so excited, I was hanging onto the phone and just, you know, I couldn't believe it
07:04Like, just even tracking it though, like it was, oh, yeah, anyway, my heart's racing
07:09So straight on the back of the C-17 Globemaster
07:12We've now got an aerobatic plane in the sky
07:15And when they said that this year it was going to be back-to-back action for the Pacific Air
07:20Show
07:20They weren't wrong
07:22I could still see the Globemaster in the distance as I was bidding it farewell for another year
07:28And then, whoom, straight away there's an aerobatic plane already in the sky
07:33So, you know, this year at the Pacific Air Show, it really is a matter of, you know, if you
07:38want to duck out and get something to eat or drink, it's then, well, what are you missing out on?
07:42But my best tip for the Pacific Air Show is, by far and away, get to know the program in
07:49the morning
07:49So they do give you a schedule of the planes that are coming out, basically
07:54And I really didn't want to miss that Globemaster
07:57I have seen it in previous Pacific Air Shows
07:59I haven't seen it from Level 14 from a balcony, you know, beachfront apartment building before, though
08:06So that was definitely a first
08:08And just to see it going past
08:09But I really didn't want to miss it, so I knew when it was coming
08:12So that's my best tip, if you're coming to the Pacific Air Show, have a look at the program
08:16Tick off those planes you really want to see
08:19I mean, for me, it's the Globemaster, it's the Osprey, and it's then the RAAF fighter jet
08:27So do know when those planes are going to be making an appearance, is my best advice to you
08:32And just, I guess, plan your time around that, so you don't miss these beautiful planes in the sky
08:39Because to behold them with your own eyes and just be so close to them
08:42And to watch them going so close over our beautiful Surfers Paradise Beach
08:46Really and truly is an experience worth having
