00:00full disclosure big fans so we're really excited that you're here um we were talking in the break
00:04about you being at carnaby hall one night or last night rather and even having those
00:10pinch me moments on that stage right right it um you know performing music night that you invited
00:16invited these local school choirs and it was not just last night that you make a donation to
00:21school music programs this is something you do in nearly every market that you play why is it so
00:27important to you to find a way to connect with the community and give back in that way um during
00:33the cunts you know the rituals and and the music program in public schools and it was really
00:38valuable to me i sang in choir in fourth grade and and um impact the way kids learn if they
00:44for
00:44example take a ukulele and they sing in math class how it can actually help a lot of kids learn
00:49in a
00:49different way did music i mean beyond obviously being a really important part of your lives is
00:54that something that either one of you noticed growing up that it was music that really helps
00:58you to tune into other things um yeah it does it it opens your horizons and um gives you more
01:05of a
01:06feeling that you you know you start to understand things about life and uh you know you get an
01:14experience um the the work you've been doing with the grammy foundation and the way that you're helping
01:19schools you've been doing that for more than five years i know you've raised well into the six figures
01:23um so you know that's actually a small chunk of the time that foreigner has been around because
01:28in 2017 you're celebrating 40 years and i love that you're having pinch me moments and you're and
01:33there's a big year coming up for you guys yeah we're just the whole 40 year celebration this
01:38actually this acoustic tour that we're on and it's like and even seven and eight year olds you know
01:43great the parents bring them and listen it's important for us to raise our kids right so a little
01:48foreigner goes a long way that's right and we're going to do a big summer tour next summer so live
