00:00It feels like one of these horse races like the Kentucky Derby or the Preakness, I think like this is
00:05going to go right down to the wire everywhere, National League, American League.
00:10I mean, I don't know if it's good for the game at this point to have teams that are like
00:13sniffing 500 make the playoffs, but it's kind of where we're at based on what we've seen, especially this past
00:19week.
00:20We are seeing absolute chaos across both the wildcard races, specifically in the AL.
00:26You know, it seems that no team wants to win these. Everyone wants to lose all at the same time.
00:31They're all winning at the same time. There's no teams that are really taking a clear step forward in either
00:36of these races.
00:37We have multiway ties happening. It is all coming down to the last six weeks of the season, which are
00:44not going to let up thus far compared to what we've seen.
00:49Yeah, the American League in particular. Let's let's throw that up one more time.
00:53I mean, throw up is probably the word for it here. Honestly, Toronto Blue Jays, who have had this just
00:58awful season, are like literally right in the mix.
01:01This is without Vladimir Guerrero Jr. This is without basically anyone. They're in the mix for the wildcard.
01:06I mean, it's safe to say that the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees are really good teams.
01:12But this American League in particular, Tom, beyond that, you know, I'm not even sure that I'm willing to say
01:18the Boston Red Sox are a lock for anything.
01:20I mean, they had that incredible run and they were great. I think they probably will make the playoffs.
01:25But you look at that list and, you know, I don't think Seattle's good at all and kind of an
01:30unmitigated disaster, to be honest with you.
01:32But like even they, if you think about it, are one five game winning streak from being right back in
01:38this thing.
01:39Right. And we saw the Sox earlier in the week. They they ended a five game losing streak on the
01:45back of Peyton Tolley having a great performance at Toronto.
01:49And all it takes is another four game losing streak by one team and a four game winning streak by
01:54another team.
01:54Also, you get vaulted up into the standings. All of a sudden, the Mariners could be in it.
01:58The Mariners could be in it while we've talked about them consistently underperforming throughout the year.
02:04We're talking about the Twins, a team that we were confused as why they were buying at the deadline.
02:10And they're just a game or half a game out at this point.
02:13The Tigers trade with Scoobo and we think, OK, that's just wrapping up their season, closing the chapter, turning the
02:19page.
02:20They're one or a half a game out of the wildcard. They're three and a half games out of the
02:24AL Central.
02:24They can still win the AL Central despite trading away their best player.
02:28All they do is go on a three or four game winning streak and see the White Sox go on
02:32a three game losing streak.
02:33And they could win the division still.
