00:00so i came across this clip of larry elder and hassan piker yeah the um the rising star in the
00:09democrat party or the communist party shall i say and uh hassan piker and larry elder kind of get
00:17into a bit of a debate where hassan piker absolutely gets embarrassed and i want to
00:24talk about it so with that being said smack that like button subscribe if you are new i greatly
00:29appreciate all of the continued love and support thank you guys so much let's hop into it shall we
00:35let's start with you i asked this question to congresswoman bass earlier is this a failure of
00:40liberal policies in california yes because part of the reason for the homelessness crisis is because
00:45of the lack of affordability uh leo haney is a uh economist from ucla he estimates that because of
00:51zoning ordinances nimbyism all the rules and regulations that they put on people that want
00:56to build housing uh housing costs almost fifty percent higher than an audit cost so that is a
01:01failure of liberal policies but the other problem of course is that a lot of people who are homeless
01:05have mental problems uh they have substance abuse problems and throwing money at it is not going to
01:10help it the government needs to get out of the way and allow churches and non-profits uh to deal
01:13with this problem because government can't do it okay um i agree i think this is a problem of liberal
01:22capitalism 100 and i want i also agree with everything that larry just said i think the solution
01:29is to decommoditize housing as best as possible through a series of different programs rent control
01:35was something that was uh put forward and unfortunately private interests were so powerful
01:41that uh black rock for example uh spent i i believe upwards of 14 million or 75 million dollars
01:48in just lobbying and marketing efforts to make sure that uh rent control that did not happen in the state
01:55of california they're not in california they just own a bunch of houses there are a hundred thousand
02:01empty homes in the san francisco metro area alone and there are what 59 000 homeless people it doesn't seem
02:08like i know what the solution to this problem is i think we all know what the solution to the
02:13problem
02:13is and yet what is it grasp our mind we can't figure we can't just we can't just say it
02:19what's
02:19the solution if it's on giving giving homeless people houses it sounds ridiculous but there are
02:24empty houses and people dying in the streets what's more important making sure that the property values
02:29are as high as possible or making sure that our fellow americans young children who are uh who are
02:35uh going to college right now trying to better themselves and and and trying to uh to build a
02:41better future for america living in their cars living on the streets what's more important
02:46rent control and policies like that create a disincentive on the part of contractors to build
02:50housing so if you really understand that's precisely what i mean if you really understood the problem
02:53you'd be you'd be opposing rent control not not advocating i don't think rent control is a perfect
02:57solution i think rent control is an is a band-aid but it's a solution in the right direction because
03:03i just
03:03what did i say i said decommoditizing housing is the main goal building public housing building
03:10affordable housing in the short term with rent control making it as unaffordable as possible on
03:15the landlords to own private properties so that housing which i would regard as an inelastic uh
03:22i would regard as having inelastic demand which is a necessity for people to survive shelter right very
03:28important uh should be dealt with appropriately but i also feel the same way about health care as well so
03:33you want government to displace private contractors oh absolutely wow absolutely i think private
03:39contractors demonstrably are failing right now we are seeing this we're talking about homelessness why
03:45do you think this problem exists in california it's affordability people can't buy houses and you're
03:50right about the mental health issue as well again another thing where our government is failing us
03:55larry your your defense for private contractors well if asan believes the problem with uh with
04:02homelessness it's because we don't have more rent control uh i don't know what planet he's living
04:06on uh new york has had rent control for a very long period of time it destroyed their housing stock
04:10that they had before the second it's not just rent control larry don't focus on that and the idea
04:14that i as a contractor should be barred from charging fair market value for my rent will create
04:20a disincentive for me to build more housing and single room occupancy also has been pretty much uh
04:25regulated out uh here in california we ought to rethink that so we ought to unleash the private sector
04:30not constrain the private sector as hassan wants to do here's what larry held is 100 correct and
04:35anybody with even an ounce of common sense knows that unfortunately common sense is no longer common
04:43and that that's part of the problem that we have in society today is that common sense isn't common
04:49anymore if you're telling people hey i'm going to make you jump through a bunch of hoops in order to
04:56do x y and z do you think they're going to jump through them especially when on the back end
05:02after
05:02they jump through the hoops the the the monetary gain is next to nothing if anything at all no no
05:13the common sense answer to lowering the one of the common sense answers one of the biggest common
05:19sense answers to lowering the cost of housing is to create more housing when you have a bunch of
05:26dollars going after a small amount of items that item is going to raise in value that's just common
05:32sense it's common sense product and demand if there's a low supply but the demand is high
05:40this is common sense if i have five if i have five of something and everybody wants it well that
05:47price
05:48is going to be sky high because there's only five it's the same thing with housing this is common sense
05:55you don't have to be uh any any any type of uh you know genius or uh investor or uh
06:03builder or
06:04contractor of any sort to figure this out this is common sense this is simple this ain't rocket science
06:10putting constraints on this only makes it worse how does it make it worse because now nobody's building
06:18anything so so something that was already a problem is now becoming more of a problem because now any
06:25builders that were in the area saying you know what f this i'm not gonna put my money at risk
06:32when there's no when there's basically no reward in the end so f these houses y'all can figure that
06:38out
06:38on your own now you're not now now instead of at least having houses built being built very slowly you've
06:45got
06:45no homes being built yeah you got your rent control but there's no more homes there's no more apartment
06:52buildings nothing's being built but guess what the population it's not it's not shrinking it's not
07:01shrinking there's more and more people there's more people living longer people need homes
07:11unfortunately once again common sense is no longer common happens when you unleash the private sector
07:16sorry to cut you off airbnb which is absolutely destroying the housing market as well because hey
07:21they're incentivized that's what that's what happens when you try to fix something with the profit motive
07:26you have a bunch of homeless people and then larry sits here and says why don't we just let the
07:30the
07:31non-profits take care of it well the non-profits are not going to take care of it if if
07:35we wanted to wait
07:36for people to be nice to one another i don't think we would have gotten into this problem in the
07:40first
07:41place let's talk about another issue uh the california passed a budget this week over 200 billion dollars
07:46perhaps the most controversial aspect of it was this health care for undocumented people under 26
07:52will have access to you mean you mean to medicaid you mean illegal aliens or depending on your perspective
07:56on what word you you choose wait let me ask you you said illegal aliens do you not think that
08:00they're human
08:01they're human beings right uh is there a term called undocumented in the u.s title code it doesn't
08:07matter are they human beings or not i'm asking you a direct question it doesn't matter we're well we're
08:11having you want to have a conversation about the legality of what not when we question like that no
08:15they're gerbils of course they're human beings oh okay so so then that's fine then we should give them
08:19health care there we go the question is what should we call them and and the answer is the precise
08:23name
08:23in the title code for people in the country illegally is illegal alien not undocumented it's not in there
08:28why are you trying to back into why are you trying to back into the legal conversation when we're
08:32trying to have a conversation around morality obviously i understand uh how the law works the
08:37law is also susceptible to changing now let's have a conversation about the morality of whether or not
08:41we should be giving these people health care well i think well let's let's ask the question though
08:46in terms of because because money is not you know infinite so sure sort of the choice for california
08:52taxpayers when we have so many other problems including homelessness for so many california residents
08:57is this a good use of california taxpayer money to give it uh to pay for this yes absolutely absolutely
09:03not absolutely i think we should i think we should solve the homelessness problem as well as i demonstrated
09:09in in a few different ways and and how we can make it a little bit better uh and and
09:14mitigate that
09:14problem but we should also absolutely help the people that are here already that are working
09:19in in all facets of industry that are contributing to uh taxes i mean these are just human beings like
09:26you can call them undocumented or you can call them illegal you can call them whatever you want
09:29but these are human beings that are existing bigger a bigger welcome mat for people to come here
09:33illegally in california already illegal aliens can drive cars legally in california illegal aliens can
09:39get in-state tuition which somebody in wisconsin born here can't get it's outrageous do you hear yourself
09:43though like you want to bar you want to bar human beings from driving around well let's just because
09:49they were born on another side of an imaginary border here's the here's the governor's perspective
09:54on this because i asked him that same question and he says look they're here anyways they're going
09:58to the emergency room anyways it's going to be more expensive to treat them in the emergency room
10:03so we're better off giving them health care so then they can get preventative care what do you
10:07say to that the answer is you are creating incentives on the part of people to come here illegally to
10:12come to california wait so why not kill them and take advantage why not kill them why not enslave
10:16them and put them in camps then yeah no i'm serious well that's a piece of cake no no no
10:20you know you're losing the argument when you start saying silly stuff like that why well just why why
10:27not kill them why not kill them like what what are you talking about huh why not kill them if
10:34you don't
10:34know the answer to that um there's a problem there's a serious issue i mean just just the fact that
10:42he's
10:42even throwing that out alone is an issue right the fact that that's even coming off of your tongue well
10:49just just why not just just murdered him like what nobody said anything like that not even anybody
10:55from the right which you know the left would like to say you know the right they're they're they're
11:01terrible people they're they're nazis they're they're hitler hitler reincarnated but it's the far
11:06left hassan peiker who's talking about putting people in pine boxes it's like come on now like what
11:15what type of silliness is this this is crazy crazy but that's also how you know he's losing the
11:23argument when you start throwing out silly ignorant stuff like that like that that shouldn't even be
11:30any type of consideration it's crazy
11:37of people to come here illegally to come to california wait so why not kill them and take
11:41advantage why not kill them why not enslave them and put them in camps then yeah no i'm serious
11:45well that's a piece of cake no no no i'm not it's a serious question i mean it's a serious
11:49question
11:49because because i don't know if you want to bar people if you want to bar people are they human
11:52beings are they human beings no no that's just ridiculous you talk about straw man you just did that
11:56i'm that's a question that i'm directing i'm not making i'm not making a statement here's the
12:00difference people should come to the country how far should we go people should come to the country
12:03legally how far should we go for those who are here already though should we kill them you said
12:07you're fine with not giving them cars you're fine with barring them from driving you're fine with
12:11with barring them from access to to health care how far should we go should we put them in little
12:16camps we should maybe ship them away reward them for coming here illegally i agree with president
12:21donald trump so how far do you think we should answer the question we should get rid of the bad
12:25hombres those who have done real serious crimes they should be gotten rid of and there are hundreds
12:29of thousands of people already that have deportation orders we haven't rounded them up and gotten them
12:33out they ought to be gotten out you think everyone with a deportation order is a bad hombre or do
12:36you
12:36think people are just getting deported at a higher rate now because donald trump wants to make it seem
12:41like he's doing something he's prioritized it and if you walk down the street and you're an illegal alien
12:46you cross the street illegally you're not being deported he's talking about bad hombres and i like the way he's
12:50doing it all right we're gonna we're gonna have to leave it there uh before we go to break though
12:54we got to give
12:54a shout out to the toronto raptor so you heard that man why not just kill them how how far
13:06should we go
13:06with this thing it's like come on man really we we gonna kill people because they came here illegally
13:13really huh are you serious problem is he was serious that that's the problem he was serious so because we
13:24call illegals illegal aliens and because we want to deport these illegals and not give them any type
13:30of benefits like health care or the ability to drive hassan piker the far leftist suggest
13:39why not just kill them this is what like that that that wasn't even anywhere in the realm of being
13:47considered we're simply deporting the illegals that is it that is all we're sending them back
13:55to where they came from that is it and that is all but you know once again when these far
14:01leftists lose
14:02lose these arguments they just i mean common sense is already out the window but it really goes out the
14:08window when they start losing as you guys just witnessed there but i just wanted to share that with you
14:13all
14:13uh full disclosure this is a little bit of an older video i forgot to say that at the beginning
14:18but
14:19anyway smack the like button subscribe if you are new and i'm gonna catch you in the next one peace
14:24and love
14:25i'm out
